Got a chicken curry takeout. Very good flavor but almost no chicken. Was about 95% onion! This has happened before, not going back.

Love the food here, I go every week. The staff are super nice and try to accommodate my requests. I love the beef and broccoli.

I love Chinese food. I could eat it every day (and often do when my spousal unit is away). I like to try new dishes, and lean toward spicy... ...yet my go-to dish here for many years has been egg foo young. Fluffy, filled with the protein of your choice (I go with pork given my BBQ predeliction), covered with a thick, rich gravy. Yesssss. Not that I haven't tried other things; I have, and rarely been disappointed. It's just that this is my idea of comfort food. The service is fast and friendly. I wanted to try something new once and the owner took the time to describe dishes I had never tried before. His recommendation was delicious. Ordered from China Wok for the first time tonight and am really happy with the food. I ordered beef and broccoli, General Tso chicken, shrimp egg foo young, egg drop soup, egg rolls, and fried rice. Everything was tasty, fresh, and not overly salty. The staff are very friendly too. Carry out during Covid was very easy. Just walk up to the front and let them know you're there and they'll bring the food out to you. Can't wait to try more items off the menu. read more

Best Chinese food I've ever had! Ordered a bunch of different types of food (General Tso's, egg foo young, fried rice, egg rolls, etc) to share with my dad, and we genuinely believe it's the best Chinese food in the DMV. For how fresh and yummy the food is, the prices are absolutely unbeatable! And the interior/atmosphere of the restaurant is so cute and clean. The owners of the restaurant are super friendly and welcoming as well, and I can't wait to go back to try more of their menu items :) 12/10 would recommend! read more

Don't waste your money! I love Chinese food so much and will never go back here again. I ordered broccoli with garlic sauce--no flavor, vegetable lomein-- only had a couple pieces of broccoli and some onion, spring rolls--inside mushy, and crab ragoon--also meh. It is in a shopping center and so you really can get to it in several different ways. So finding the place is pretty easy when you are in Walkersville, MD and in the mood for Chinese. I am not sure if you need reservations, but frankly it is a small place and the take out while we were there was incredible! While the dining room is nice and quiet, the kitchen as the evening went on was not so quiet. Again probably not used to getting a big group there. I was surprised how many people came by for take out! I would give it a 4 Stars for that. Atmosphere: This place is a lot smaller than it looks and probably why they do a great carry out service. Lots of mirrors when you go inside. They have half booth and half tables. If you were to get a really big crowd in there you would fill up the tables. We went there with the Walkersville LaCrosse High School Coach and his wife and family of 3 teenage boys. His wife is also my sister. :) This place has a nice American-Chinese feel. The tables are beautiful and printed in charming Chinese print. Overall I think you would be surprised about this nice little place in Walkersville, MD. I would definitely give it a 3-4 Stars. First time trying this place. I've always been skeptical of Chinese restaurants unless they've been recommended to me, but since we don't know anyone in Walkersville, I came here with a craving. First impressions, this place is super clean, big fish tank that my kid loved and the girl at the front counter was very friendly. So far it's good with me. The menu is quite large and has all the options you'd expect and want. Lunch menus, chefs specials, etc. etc. I ended up ordering the General Tso's chicken, friend rice and egg roll (no shrimp). The girl said 15 minutes for take out and she was spot on. The food was overall pretty good, nothing to rave about, but I'd go back. Some of the best Chinese food I've tasted. Unlike the generic fast food Chinese restaurants you see in food courts etc, China Wok is actually unique. The pork fried rice is my favorite, along with the hot and crispy beef and sesame chicken. I've yet to try the new Thai menu they introduced last year but my friend says good things about it. Classic sit-down quality food in takeout form! General Tso's was the highlight--no wonder it's a popular menu favorite! It had thick chunks of juicy meat coated with the perfect ratio of crunchy breading to soak up that flavorful sauce. The hot crispy beef was so yummy and it's accompanying veggies were fresh & crisp. Unwilted veggies in takeout?? Unheard of. Such a small thing to be impressed about but hear me out, it matters! We also got the wonton and hot & sour soups. Those really hit the spot & we found out from the owner's family they actually make the bone broth from scratch!! Speaking of, the shrimp egg foo young was amazing. The food at this restaurant is low quality, flavorless and inauthentic. I ordered General Tso's chicken and it was so poorly made that I couldn't finish the meal. My biggest complaint is the poor quality chicken that they used. I had multiple different textures of chicken smashed together to make one piece. The flavor was so bad, I had to check the receipt to make sure they gave me the correct item. I'd give zero stars if I could. Definitely the best-tasting Chinese food in Frederick County! I waited tables in a very nice Chinese restaurant in college (in another state), and I hadn't found anything that measured up here in Maryland until we started going to the China Wok. The kung pao beef and lemon chicken are favorites in our house, and my son would eat their steamed dumplings every day if we let him. They'll make any substitution you ask for (try ordering chicken with pea pods made with their garlic sauce instead of the regular white sauce - yum!). The people are always friendly, too, never irritated or bored as in so many places these days. Once, our delivery order was inaccurate; we called, and they sent the correct item out to us right away. Many places would just have offered us a credit for our next visit - which is nice, but it doesn't help with that night's dinner. read more

We use to order from here almost weekly a few years ago, but as the quality declined, we switched to the other local restaurant that delivers. Now that they no longer do, we decided to give China Wok another try. Oh. My. Gosh. It's DISGUSTING. I got my favorite appetizer, pork fried wontons. These just...aren't that. The dough is wrong, it's wrapped wrong (flat?!!!) and it is ground pork WITH NO SEASONING OR HERBS! I gagged. On to something new: their Thai offering of drunken noodles: another favorite. I was worried when it wasn't listed as, "spicy" on their menu, (which is a hallmark of the dish), but gave it a whirl. Bland, wrong noodles, no onions or anything...it does have basil but, these noodles are about as sober as can be. Blech. They may be the only game in town, but I ain't playing. Disgusting. read more

I grew up eating here as a kid and on a good week my family orders at least once a week. Amazing shrimp fried rice and general tsos chicken... have ate at many chinese places but no where else compares! The portions are large so it's great for lunch the next day. The best hot and sour soup i have ever had hands down. Kids love the egg rolls and ask if we can go to the "egg roll restaurant" every time we pass safeway. Dine in is nice too. A small family owns the restaurant and they are very friendly. Service is great and fast. They redesigned the place with beautiful and comfortable booths. They have a huge fish tank with interesting fish in it. Honestly, dine in is underrated as most people order take out or delivery since the phone is always ringing.
