No sit down, all the tables and chairs are stacked and look like they have been that way for a while. One Sushi case was empty, the other looked to be in pieces. We ordered (with concern but we're hungry ) schezen pork/green beans and schezen chicken, hot/sour soup. Got it home and tried everything. Soup was bland Pork in the green beans was disappointing, totally wrong flavor. Beans had no schezen at all. Chicken was pretty flavorless. No spicy, no flavor, no return.... Honestly some of the best Asian I've ever had, the lo-mein is SO good there is also an option to add shrimp which I love.

Food is mostly consistent and I know what to expect every time I order. I wouldn't say it's the best but it's fair and convenient. Would recommend if you are in Myersville or Middletown. We get the General Tso's with white meat. And their shrimp fried rice is good as well. read more

My GF suggested we order Asian Cafe. I haven't had the best food from them in the past but little did I expect what happened this evening. After driving home with our carry out order, my GF noticed that her Teriyaki Chicken with wok seared vegetables resembled (and tasted like) a lean cuisine chicken breast. The primary difference is this lean cuisine meal cost over $13. My GF, is not prone to complaining about poorly prepared food, decided to call. The young man who answered the phone said that the description on the website (where my GF ordered online) "probably wasn't accurate." She requested a refund at which point he asked how much of the meal she had eaten. She stated "barely any...do they want me to drive my food back to get a refund?" As he started to make more excuses she interrupted him stating "nevermind...just tell the owners I won't be back." I have attached a photo of this meal which does not in any way resemble asian cuisine and which clearly shows steamed vegetables. Asian Cafe shouldn't be in business if they are going to prepare meals that do not match their descriptions online then argue about their customers when they call them on it. I have lived in Middletown 35 years and have never had a professional eatery treat me or my significant other this way. I would not recommend going here. Go to China Garden in Frederick (great people and even greater good) or Thai Meric (another great establishment) also in Frederick. I absolutely love Asian Cafe! We live here in Middletown and often order from this place. The food is really great quality and the prices are pretty good. I normally order Pork and Broccoli and the Lomein which both are very good. I would highly recommend their Mango chicken (or whatever meat choice) it's sooo good! This is a nice Chinese Restaurant in Middletown, MD. They have a large selection of Chinese, and sushi on the menu. They will custom prepare any dish as well. Everything is served very fast and hot. Very reasonable and quality of food I find is good. We ordered the egg rolls and were piping hot with a tasty hot mustard. Opens your sinus The pork fried rice is good and enough for two, the chow mein however you want is very good. I am not sure what the couple next to us ordered but it looked amazing. We ate here on New Years Day, I was super delighted with their menu offerings. Egg Foo Young??!! I can never find the Egg Foo Young dish anywhere in the U.S. except for San Francisco and Detroit. Add Middletown to the list! My DH ordered general tso chicken and it was decent. My kids had sushi. Overall, we were satisfied with the food. The sushi was tad overpriced though. It was my mistake for ordering Pad Thai. The appeal of a pan-Asian restaurant is that you can get whatever you want to eat from across all the culinary traditions of the continent and associated islands. This never tends to work out well. Mostly because each of these cuisines has its own set of specialty ingredients and techniques. The Pad Thai was gloppy and swimming in a pool of peanut colored sauce. But the Chinese-American classics were all solid. Beef with broccoli was solid with tender pieces of beef and plenty of large, bright green and crisp-tender pieces of broccoli. The lunch special was a solid value, even if the fried rice was ho-hum and the duck sauce was a shocking hue of orange. My son loved his won ton soup, which I didn't get to try. Still, the place is clean, friendly, and offers a taste of Asia somewhere off I-70 between DC and Pittsburgh. So it's got that going for it, which is nice. read more

Oh... my... God!!! This place is the bomb!!! Best General Tso's Chicken I've had EVER. When I bit into it, I was amazed. The chicken was perfectly cook. It was crunchy thin shell with perfect chicken texture inside. Not too crunchy, not soggy like other places. It was a masterpiece. The taste was spot on. I did get fried rice for an extra $1 and it comes on the side. It looks like 1 cup of rice which isn't bad. The portion of chicken was generous and I took the left overs home. This place is very nice and modern looking. Staff is nice and very hipster-ish. The place wasn't too busy on a Sunday and was very quite in a good way. Definitely going back and recommend this place. When the remainder of my order was ready, was handed the bag retrieved from the other customer. I explained why it was unacceptable which seemed to be a surprise to everyone at the counter. I am a bit surprised by the other reviews here. Coming from a very gastronomical family who have owned their own hotel and restaurant i am very difficult to please...but i was pleased tonight. The spicy tuna roll was surprisingly good as was the rest of our food.(Beef low mein and the very un-chineese orange chicken!)I went with my two boys and we were all pleased. The service was courteous and prompt. The server was accommodating to all my needs and couldn't have been more helpful. To start, the young girl taking the orders on the phone was barely paying attention to what I was saying and was giggling while I was talking. I won't go into all of the sad details of our meal, but the hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour (It was originally one of our favorite reasons for coming to this restaurant. I feel like this place is going down hill. Food is good, place is clean and modern, but the staff is amazingly slow and a couple of the girls up front don't quite seem to know what they're doing. They're perfectly friendly, just a bit incompetent. I'd say at least 90% of the time our order isn't ready on time, usually at least 10-15 minutes past the ETA given by the order taker. The majority of my patronage involves carry out orders so my general POV of Asian Cafe is different from someone who usually dines in. That being said, we have eaten there on several occasions and the speed still seems quite slow. We typically order carry-out since this restaurant is usually on our way home from work, doctor, etc. As a carry-out restaurant, it works for us. The food is usually pretty consistent, and we haven't had any problems with them messing up our orders. Most of our orders include a selection of egg drop soup, won ton soup, pork lo mein, sesame chicken (basically the same as General Tso's Chicken, but with sesame seeds and no hot peppers), crispy beef, egg rolls, and/or steamed dumplings. Mostly good, but the wrappers on the steamed dumplings are usually thick and a little doughy, but the flavor is good. Otherwise, we've been satisfied with the food. HOWEVER, we've eaten in the restaurant a handful of times, and the service has been horrendously slow. And that with the restaurant practically empty. If you have young kids, make sure you take something along to keep them entertained while you wait ... and wait ... and wait. In addition, the last two times we were there, the waitress we had showed the personality of a damp sponge. She wasn't unpleasant, but she sure wasn't friendly, either. She brought the food when it was ready, but never checked back to see how we were doing, or to refill our water. Not stellar, to say the least. If you're in Middletown, and fancy Chinese food for dinner, go for it, as long as you have time to kill, and you're not looking for any conversation from your waitress. Ok where do I start, the dinning room is open, airy, refreshing. The background music they play is interesting (Asian top 40 I guess lol) but relaxing. We always stick to the Chinese favorites from their lunch menu and we are yet to be disappointed. The food is on point and their prices are awesome. We also ordered hot and spicy tofu, which was just cubes of plain tofu (not fried or seared, just like straight out of the container) in another thick, sweet sauce. I have eaten here many times and have never been impressed. I'm never expecting 5 star food and service but tonight I had the worst experience I have ever had. I carried out an order of the sesame chicken and about halfway through I put a piece in my mouth and felt something sharp. When I took it out I noticed a piece of STEEL WOOL stuck inside of the chicken. I decided to save sharing this until I got a chance to talk to the owner. She comped my meal and never apologized. Great sushi for the area. Don't really care for the crunchier stuff they put in their Spicey Tuna Rolls. Family loves their General Tsao. They have good Beef and Broccoli and amazing cashew chicken. Someone recommended I get the Singapore Noodles. There was nothing wrong with them, just not as much meat and not that amazing. The place is always clean. The fish tank is not always clean.
