The food is okay but the service is terrible. I spent $70 on four meals going to two separate people so I asked for another plastic bag to separate the orders. The woman I asked, who I later learned was the owner, actually ignored me then directly refused. Her attitude was bad from the start of our interaction. They got the orders wrong, charged me the wrong amount and I didn't even say anything because things happen- but the bag was the cherry on top. To spend $70 and have a simple request for a 0.10 cent bag refused was pretty insulting. I got out of there as quick as possible and will not return! Hope this helps someone else. read more

As the name suggests the business is a fast casual restaurant with an abundance of delicious dishes. I was craving Stir-fry so I ordered on their dedicated POS kiosk, and it was ready in minutes. I'm so glad I stopped in on a whim during a weeknight. At first I was looking for 8Tea8 bubble tea and didn't realize it was within Wok in Wok Out but that actually might be more popular than the food since the register in the front seemed to be exclusively for drinks. If you want to order food you have to walk slightly farther to the back. Even though there was just one lady at the counter during the dinner rush the wait wasn't too long. The guy who made the food was also very friendly when handing over the food which was nice. I was glad I decided to try the taro fries since making it by myself is kind of a pain with fresh taro being pretty big and cleaning the air fryer. Adding an additional egg within the katsu sandwich was also a nice touch. The sandwich was delicious. If I'm ever in the area again I would like to try some of their other dishes. read more

It's probably a 4 in reality but the guy in charge clearly knows how to make a patron happy. I used the menu here on Yelp to order and they happened to change one of the food items (why it's generally better to just name food what they are instead of being clever) from a $4.50 boneless chicken dish to a $10 bone in chicken dish. So when I realized the error after going to the car; he not only made it right by replacing the items, he gave me an additional item to make up for it. The menu here is quite robust with numerous Asian noodle and rice dishes. While you can choose from many signature dishes, the create your own allows for any finicky eater. The spice level and get intense - so don't over estimate your comfort level. Service was friendly and fast. They have a limited number of high top seating and regular tables. read more

They often are closed even when their hours say they are open, and have a sign saying "returning at _____" but they hardly follow through with the return times, as I've waited outside for them to reopen. It's always such a 50/50 chance of them being open, which is such a bummer considering their boba is delicious! Overall, please either fix your hours or reopen at the right time. read more

Let me tell you, we regretted not getting more orders of the bao since we ate it in the car on the way home, lol. The flavors are insane and I can't wait to go back and have more! This was my first time here and I came just for the bubble tea. I tried the jasmine green tea with boba and passion fruit and I tried the black tea with boba and mangoes. The quality of the tea and boba was really good. Unfortunately like other Frederick bubble teas everything comes from a fruit syrup. No real fruit juice :( the syrup is good though, and I think this is the best bubble tea we have in Frederick. I would highly recommend trying this tea. Wok in wok out also has food that I'll definitely have to try. For the business I would recommend having real fruit juice, and adding a few more base teas, especially a plain base green tea and white tea. read more

But one cashier immediately got up, greeted us, and went to prepare to ring us up. This isn't a typical Chinese food menu. No wonton soup-boo! But plenty of interesting items. My friend and I tried the Wok's Your Style entree. It came with sautéed veggies and you could choose between a variety of sauces. I asked about the Black Pepper sauce-was it really super spicy? I like spice, but didn't want it to overwhelm. He said it wouldn't. And it did not. Just enough for flavor, but no sweats. I ordered Shrimp as a protein. The guy did warn me that there were only 4 large prawns. I got it anyway. Came in a large bowl with a LOT of jasmine rice. (Can choose brown rice.). The amount of veggies was small in comparison. The four prawns weren't as jumbo as I figured. Good favor. Cabbage was more like a dark collard green, but still tasted good. As a lover of some spice to my food, they aren't kidding when they say that adding spice makes it hot. I got 3 out of 5 on their heat level, and it put my tastebuds to the test. I really enjoyed it. This is one of our family favorites! Every dish we have tried from the Wok Bao Wow and Wok 'n Wild wings. From the main rice dishes like the Classic Fried rice and Hawaiian Fried rice. Then the Wok Star and Pad Thai noodles. We love the fresh, quick, and delicious food and flavors. We love this local Frederick spot and love to add this to our weekly dining rotation. For most Level 1 is more than plenty of heat. They'll help you decide and will check in with you if you dine in and they're not too busy. If you dine it you get ceramic bowls and silverware that they will bring to you. Tried food from this restaurant for the first time this weekend and came back the next day for more! We don't usually do this but we loved what we ate and wanted to try new dishes the next day. The first time we ordered Spicy Szechuan Fried Rice and the Wokstar. The next day we ordered Drunken Noodles and Wok Bao Wow - the second time we ordered it at Spice Level 4 and it was spicy but still tolerable for us. Think we may try spice level 5 next time! The reason for 4 stars is the noodles were missing that wonderful thai basil taste that is so unique to thai dishes. However, the Bao were great with excellent flavor.
