It's probably a 4 in reality but the guy in charge clearly knows how to make a patron happy. I used the menu here on Yelp to order and they happened to change one of the food items (why it's generally better to just name food what they are instead of being clever) from a $4.50 boneless chicken dish to a $10 bone in chicken dish. So when I realized the error after going to the car; he not only made it right by replacing the items, he gave me an additional item to make up for it. My wife and kids loved their food and boba drinks so I'm assuming we will be back because their prices are reasonable and they make a good product. read more

I'm so glad I stopped in on a whim during a weeknight. At first I was looking for 8Tea8 bubble tea and didn't realize it was within Wok in Wok Out but that actually might be more popular than the food since the register in the front seemed to be exclusively for drinks. If you want to order food you have to walk slightly farther to the back. Even though there was just one lady at the counter during the dinner rush the wait wasn't too long. The guy who made the food was also very friendly when handing over the food which was nice. I was glad I decided to try the taro fries since making it by myself is kind of a pain with fresh taro being pretty big and cleaning the air fryer. Adding an additional egg within the katsu sandwich was also a nice touch. The sandwich was delicious. If I'm ever in the area again I would like to try some of their other dishes. read more

This was for a carry-out order. It was completed within the time estimate they had told us. I really enjoyed the food aside from the filling of the Bao Buns and the egg rolls. Wok-in Wok-out is pretty good!...when they're open. They often are closed even when their hours say they are open, and have a sign saying "returning at _____" but they hardly follow through with the return times, as I've waited outside for them to reopen. It's always such a 50/50 chance of them being open, which is such a bummer considering their boba is delicious! Overall, please either fix your hours or reopen at the right time. read more

The menu here is quite robust with numerous Asian noodle and rice dishes. While you can choose from many signature dishes, the create your own allows for any finicky eater. The spice level and get intense - so don't over estimate your comfort level. Service was friendly and fast. They have a limited number of high top seating and regular tables. read more

New to Frederick and this has become one of our regular dinner choices! We love their build your own wok and the tofu buns! The dish is always filled with lots of veggies and flavor! We have dined in a few times and did take out the others - each time the food is fresh and ready quickly! Very vegetarian and meat friendly! Also... I am so glad my husband and I decided to try this place yesterday. The food is so delicious! We ordered beef wok bao wow, chicken drunken noodles, and pork fried rice. Let me tell you, we regretted not getting more orders of the bao since we ate it in the car on the way home, lol. The flavors are insane and I can't wait to go back and have more! It's my first time trying drunken noodles, they were also delicious and the chicken was extremely flavorful! My husband's pork fried rice was yummy as well! This was my first time here and I came just for the bubble tea. I tried the jasmine green tea with boba and passion fruit and I tried the black tea with boba and mangoes. The quality of the tea and boba was really good. Unfortunately like other Frederick bubble teas everything comes from a fruit syrup. No real fruit juice :( the syrup is good though, and I think this is the best bubble tea we have in Frederick. I would highly recommend trying this tea. Wok in wok out also has food that I'll definitely have to try. I'm going against the grain by giving this place a 4 Star review. Most Yelpers can't seem to get enough. My friend and I were in the shopping center for a stroll in HomeGoods and were looking for a bite to eat. She checked online and saw that this Asian fusion fast casual place was top notch. Worthy of a try... The inside was clean and modern. We were thrown off that the employees were at the front table eating, at first we thought it was closed to patrons. But one cashier immediately got up, greeted us, and went to prepare to ring us up. This isn't a typical Chinese food menu. No wonton soup-boo! But plenty of interesting items. My friend and I tried the Wok's Your Style entree. It came with sautéed veggies and you could choose between a variety of sauces. I asked about the Black Pepper sauce-was it really super spicy? I like spice, but didn't want it to overwhelm. He said it wouldn't. And it did not. Just enough for flavor, but no sweats. I ordered Shrimp as a protein. The guy did warn me that there were only 4 large prawns. I got it anyway. Came in a large bowl with a LOT of jasmine rice. (Can choose brown rice.). The amount of veggies was small in comparison. The four prawns weren't as jumbo as I figured. Good favor. Cabbage was more like a dark collard green, but still tasted good. This place has some fun with food! We have gone a few times and ordered a variety of menu items, and I'm impressed. It it becoming our local go-to for Asian Cuisine. The food is well seasoned and flavored, and cooked just as expected. From Wok to Thai, they really put in the effort to make it a great dish. Let's talk heat. As a lover of some spice to my food, they aren't kidding when they say that adding spice makes it hot. I got 3 out of 5 on their heat level, and it put my tastebuds to the test. I really enjoyed it. This is one of our family favorites! Every dish we have tried from the Wok Bao Wow and Wok 'n Wild wings. From the main rice dishes like the Classic Fried rice and Hawaiian Fried rice. Then the Wok Star and Pad Thai noodles. We love the fresh, quick, and delicious food and flavors. We love this local Frederick spot and love to add this to our weekly dining rotation. I believe they have had an ownership/management change at the Frederick location. The food is starting a downward slope and continues to slide. The past 5-6 meals have been this way. I do not see the same folks on-site anymore as well which tell you allot. read more

Always a great meal My only complaint is that the food can be a little too spicy at times. I enjoy spice but it can be a little overwhelming. Just a word of warning. Food is always good and the staff is always smiling, pleasant and quick to take care of you. They customize any dish to your preferred level of spice from Level 1 to 5. For most Level 1 is more than plenty of heat. They'll help you decide and will check in with you if you dine in and they're not too busy. If you dine it you get ceramic bowls and silverware that they will bring to you. If you do takeout they'll call your name at the kitchen window when it's ready. 8Tea8 Bubble Tea is also inside but will need to order at the separate register. Came out for an appointment all the way from Loudoun County. Decided to give it a try as I prefer fast casual over wait service. So glad we did. We ordered Curry Fried Rice, Drunken Noodles and Wokstar with a 2 out of 5 spice level. All were super yummy and spice was just right, at the beginning. The spice really kicked in by the end of the meal Meat was tender, veggies had a good bite. Very satisfying meal. Lovely decor. Modern and clean. Love the stools! Very friendly and hospitable owner. Tried food from this restaurant for the first time this weekend and came back the next day for more! We don't usually do this but we loved what we ate and wanted to try new dishes the next day. The first time we ordered Spicy Szechuan Fried Rice and the Wokstar. The next day we ordered Drunken Noodles and Wok Bao Wow - the second time we ordered it at Spice Level 4 and it was spicy but still tolerable for us. Think we may try spice level 5 next time! Portions are huge so we had leftovers from day 1 as we ordered food on day 2. Flavors are unique and very delicious. Curbside Delivery was a breeze. We can't wait to order again. This place has a pretty cool vibe. I appreciate the creative and unique names of the menu items and the taste of the food is pretty good. I ordered a takeout order during the Covid-19 and the ordering process was very seamless. I ordered the Drunken Noodles and an order of Wok Bao Wow. The reason for 4 stars is the noodles were missing that wonderful thai basil taste that is so unique to thai dishes. However, the Bao were great with excellent flavor. Portion sizes were great and their dishes come packed with lots of meat which I can appreciate. What omnivore doesn't like lots of meat? This guy does!!! read more

Well. I have tried to order several times to no avail. They close at 6:45pm on the weekends. I'm all for setting boundaries, I grew up in the restaurant business and it wasn't easy. This is another level. This evening, I called at 6:10pm to confirm their times. They said they close at 6:45pm. I got my order together quickly and called back 11 times at 611-18pm. No answer. So I ordered pizza. Another attempt and another fail. And I am left with confusion and no wok dish. read more

Multiple tables next to us got the Lazy Rainbow so it seems like a popular one to get. We also appreciated the real crab that they used (although I may have gotten the smallest piece of shell in my Lazy Shack, but it was so good I didn't even care). Lazy Spaghetti: Basically like a massamun beef curry and spaghetti fusion. On the tad spicy side for me. Was really creamy and the sauce to spaghetti ratio was a little heavy (on the sauce side) that I wish there was more spaghetti to soak it up. Definitely would stick to the sushi here (although I'm a sucker for a sushi + hot dish combo). Would consider coming back to try some of their nigiris next time!

The first broth I tried was the tomato, and it wasn't bad, but I much prefer the chicken based one. Service is always quick and pleasant. The restaurant is clean and comfortable if a little spare. They need to turn up the heat a bit, too. It's November and pretty chilly in here. Everyone has their coats on. At least the soup is steaming hot. My one other request would be to have more appetizers or sides that are gluten-free. Saw a cucumber salad on the menu but it's too cold for that now! For mains we focused on: sushi. Lots and lots of sushi. The rolled sushi menu is very long; the sushi (actually nigiri) and sashimi menu not so much. Nothing on the menu described how big the portions were so the 'dults each ordered a several different selections, both rolls and sushi. This kiddies ordered ramen, and Spousal Unit got Drunken Noodles with Chicken along with a sushi roll. Turns out the rolls were HUGE so we overordered dramatically (pro tip: ask in the future). Everything was fresh and tasty. My only quibble was that the Spider Roll appeared to be fried surimi (artificial crab) not soft shell crab. How could I tell? No legs, baby! We rolled out stuffed, with a doggie bag full of sushi for Daddy Dearest's second dinner. The price was very reasonable, and the quality far better than Lantern Sushi (but not as good as Sushi Nomo or Lazy Fish). Middle-Oldest Grand Daughter's birthday dinner was a success - and I'm already looking forward to next year's!
