Ordered delivery for our first experience from this spot because it's super close! Lunch specials arrived quickly. We tried this place mainly because they offer shrimp toast, which isn't very common around here. The shrimp toast was nice, crispy on the outside with a yummy shrimp paste inside. The egg roll was also nicely done with crispy wrapper, but I do wish they wouldn't cheap out and put pork in there. We also got the sesame and general tso chicken specials with pork fried rice and chicken fried rice. They screwed up the order though, and both had pork fried rice. The fried rice itself lacked egg, peas, carrots, and scallions. It was pretty plain but fine. The flavor of the general tso sauce was sweet but good, and the batter was inconsistently crispy and mushy depending on the piece. Reminded me of buffet fare. We also got the chicken lo mein which was also mid. It was fine, had better, had worse. Overall, I liked what I had for the deal I got on it via redacted delivery service. I paid $40 with tipping the delivery driver and fees. It would've been $50 without the deal, which would've left me less pleased. I decided to give this place a try after reading several recent reviews that were positive. Many of the older reviews were anything but that. This is a small place with very limited inside seating, and the ambiance can best de described as cluttered and disheveled! I placed a take out order of Fried Chicken Wings (4) with Pork Fried Rice ($11.55) and Shrimp Chow Mein with an Egg Roll (value priced at $8.55). The order took about 15 minutes to come out. This turned out to be some better than average Chinese American take out fare! The egg roll was solid if not spectacular. The Fried Chicken Wings (there were 6 pieces, not 4) were large, nicely cooked, and very tasty. The Pork Fried Rice was also tasty once a good dose of soy sauce was applied, and there was a nice amount of pork and a few scattered veggies, including a nice bit of onion. The Shrimp Chow Mein was good, but not great. The shrimp were small, plentiful, and flavorful. The vegetables were nice and crunchy, but were not as flavorful as other such dishes I've tried in the area. Bottom line: I would definitely order the Chicken Wings again, but probably not the Chow Mein. I would try other items on the menu as well. I would either order on line or phoned it in. Pleasantly surprised !! We both enjoyed our meal, we shared chicken and broccoli and wonton soup. The service was so friendly! To be honest the inside it was a little off putting, no customers and kind of messy, but after the great service and food my mind was changed. I don't know what they claim to use as their chicken but I can confirm that it is chewy, has crunchy bits in it and if you get the "imported orange peel" chicken, if you hit a piece of orange peel, it will ruin the entire dish with how bitter it is. I have been craving Chinese food for um... about 2+ months now and have finally given in! I went with the lunch special of Sesame Chicken, pork fried rice and wanton soup. It came to $5.50. Portion size was decent. The wonton soup was good! The chicken was really good. Not the typical sauce you get on this dish... It was pretty spicy but I liked it! The pork fried rice was not-so-good... It was really bland. Like another reviewer stated, there are no vegetables in it and I actually had to add SALT to it. (Adding salt to Chinese food?!? That's a first for me!) I didn't call ahead and the wait was probably only 5-7minutes. The place isn't much to look at. There's only 3 small booths and the other side had a bunch of kid-stuff: books, coloring pages, a keyboard... All kind of stacked and messy. We just moved across town and have finally found excellent Chinese food we can have delivered. Four times we've ordered from them and have consistently gotten quick service and excellent food. I got sweet and sour chicken with white rice and an egg roll. The food arrived hot just like if it had been cooked right here. The rice was tender and just sticky enough to just right. The usual deep fried chicken pieces were not greasy or overbreaded, just about perfectly cooked. The portions are generous and reasonably priced. It took fifteen minutes for them to take our order. We must have seen seven people come in and pick up take out. I could see no special offers to justify the high volume of take out business. We ordered: Kung Pao Chicken, Sesame Chicken and Hunan Pork. All were just ok. Our meals came with a so-so egg roll and orangish rice. The serving size was generous. Super fast drlivery. I ordered at 1215 on a Tuesday and they were knocking on my door at 1230! I couldn't have driven and picked up fast food any faster than that! I ordered the orange chicken lunch combination with chicken fried rice and egg drop soup. I was very impressed with the portions. I ordered my orange chicken spicy and the flavor was good. The crispy wonton strips that come with the soup were surprisingly not greasy like most places serve. Best $5 lunch deal I've ever ordered! I added an egg roll to my order and it was crispy and delicious. Then, to meet delivery minimum, which is $10 I added crab Rangoon. They were crispy, and slightly sweet in the middle which I like. I love this place! The food is consistently good. We always eat-in so we don't have to wait for delivery. The spring tools are much better than the egg rolls. We have gotten to know the family that owns it and they always greet us like we're their best friends when we come in! Hadn't been here in a very long time. My favorite Chinese food is boneless spare ribs. These were ok, not great, but ok. They were little dry, and the sauce reminded me of sweet and sour chicken or pork sauce. My wife got the chicken with scallions which is easily the best I have ever had. It had a bunch of garlic so it tasted yummie! The hot and sour soup wasn't the best. The pieces were very chunky, and really needed to be cut up. The egg roll is what I call a cabbage log. First, their online ordering is amazing Second, it is probably the best delivery Chinese you can get in 27104. I've always ordered the same (steamed wontons and sesame chicken with lo mien) and always added a random side dish. I first started this through grubhub and stopped as soon as I learned that they have young college students working there taking orders and have online ordering on their website. Delivery normally takes 30-60 minutes depending on the day so you just never know. Only complaint is one time I had a bottle cap in my dumplings and actual paper in my chicken a year ago and they refused to refund me. It took about 9 months for me to go back but after trying every where else I was so disappointed in the competitors I had to resort back and haven't been disappointed. read more
