After having cataract eye surgery and fasting since 8 PM last night, the first thing I did was head to O'Brien's. With so many great delicious choices of their signature sandwiches. I went with the Cuban. A savory sandwich, full of juice and every bite from the tender pork and the pickles for acidity. Their signature sandwiches never disappoint. My daughter got the secret sandwich that is not on the menu, which is the bacon, egg and cheese, a staple in New York. With a decent amount of bacon and served on a Kaiser roll, which is the New York Way it is the perfect sandwich. Not just for breakfast but anytime of day. My wife also went with a signature chicken Parmesan. A perfectly cooked chicken cutlet with a savory tomato sauce and melted cheese is a delight in every bite. I have never had a bad experience at O'Brien's. It continues to be the best New York style deli in Winston-Salem.

When you put a sign like home of the Reuben on your window I would think you're bragging but all you're doing is advertising. French onion soup was warm not hot probably because it would probably melt the containers they serve in.

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. It was packed but the line to order at the counter moved pretty fast. We got the Reuben to split as it's rather large. It's their signature sandwich and it was delicious. There are limited tables inside. A lot of people got orders to go. Parking can be a challenge but things open up quickly. Another sandwich being ordered was the Cuban. An idea for the next trip.

It doesn't get better than O'Briens in Winston-Salem. The Reuben and The Rachel are so special. Any foodie visiting our city, you must include this on your stops. A regular size is honestly enough to split, unless you love leftovers. Currently happily eating my leftovers as I leave this review.

The best Rachel in town! If you're a fan of New York delis this is a MUST try! I love the mini Rachel (mini is an understatement) and my husband loved the steak Philly. Staff is always so nice!

Really like their chicken cheddar melt sandwich. They chop the chicken which makes it not heavy with great flavor. I got the 1/2 sandwich & soup combo. Also their dill pickles are fantastic - a half is usually good. When my eyes are too big I'll get a full & end up bringing 1/2 home.

The meatball sub brought be back after a lovely yelp event. Service is always fast and friendly and the food is always fresh. Theres plenty of seating inside to enjoy your meal.

Great local sandwich place. Located in a strip mall area, the seating on site is pretty small as is the shop itself. The focus is obviously food first and foremost and they do a great job of that. They have a large variety of different toppings, "pre-selected" sandwiches and standard deli items like macaroni salad, potato salad, chips and carry Dr. Brown's soda which is a good quality soda. Most of the time I've been here I've had the Reuben, you can't really go wrong with that choice and it's obviously the store's flagship sandwich for a reason. Every ingredient I've had is high quality, from the bread to the meat to the condiments. They obviously take care to produce good food. One of the times I visited I had their St Patrick's Day special of corned beef, cabbage and soda bread. The cabbage was just okay but the corned beef was of course amazing. The soda bread was the real star and it makes me sad it's not a regular offering. The only downside I'd note was it can get a little pricey and add up quickly if you have a couple people and start adding drinks or sides. Value could be a little better, even considering the food is well made and high quality. Overall this is a great place I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a local quality deli. Service is also prompt and wait times are reasonable even during busy times.

Amazing deli!!! We we're driving through Winston-Salem on a road trip to the beach, and decided to make a stop in town. We looked up several different places, but noticed that this deli had excellent reviews, and decided to give it a shot. We are very glad that we chose to do so, because everything here was exactly as an old school authentic deli should be. The staff were super friendly, our orders came out promptly, and everything was just delicious. I highly recommend the Reuben. It is quite big, so they're half Reuben is a reasonably good option as well. Their Cubano sandwich was also amazing, and their meatball hoagie was a hit with one of our kids. Their pickles are excellent as well, and I recommend enjoying one of these instead of a bag of chips if you like them. The ambience is comfortable, and there is a lot of foot traffic, which they keep up with very impressively. Parking can be as somewhat of an issue, but don't be afraid to park around back if there are no parking spots up front. We do drive through Winston-Salem fairly regularly, and we will most definitely be back for more!! well done!!!

I came here on a Thursday around noon with one other person. There was a decent crowd which further confirms how great this place is. We did not wait long to order and the food came out pretty fast. I had ordered the club with no tomato with macaroni salad. The sandwich was so fresh tasting. The macaroni salad had a tang taste to it, but I enjoyed it more than the potato salad. I might just continue trying their different side items to see what I like best. The staff were so nice and checked in on us even though they were not waiters. Definitely my new favorite place.

    Steak Philly Signature Sandwich

It was fairly busy but the staff was quick and friendly. I got the steak Philly - the cheese was nicely melted, onions grilled perfectly. The bread was fresh. Not much of an ambiance as the place is small but it's a deli. Very clean and the staff take care of you-they come and check on you, refill your drink. It's a must go to!

Known as the home of the Reuben, I can confirm that it lived up to the hype--absolutely delicious! I also got to built my own sandwich with pastrami, rye bread, pimento cheese, banana peppers, pickles, and ranch. It was a bit messy, but oh so worth it! I paired it with half a pickle for that perfect crunch. We indulged in their creamy tomato soup, spicy sesame noodles, and the Coleman sandwich--what a feast! The service was fantastic, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Can't wait to come back!

I even asked the barista if he remembered to put the espresso in it and he said that he did. I'm not so sure... this time I ordered something different. I asked which flavors of syrups they had and also if they were Housemade. The mark of a true gourmet coffeehouse is housemaid syrups... The girl told me that they don't make the syrups in this location, but at their Charlotte location and they're brought up here. They had the typical ones: vanilla hazelnut and mocha. I chose to get a regular iced oat milk latte sweetened with a little honey with cinnamon powder. The flavor of the espresso is very good and bold and it blended well with the cinnamon and honey. I also ordered two pastries, including A chocolate chunk cookie and a blueberry muffin. I ordered the blueberry muffin because a customer behind me said that the blueberry muffin is his wife's absolute favorite of all the blueberry muffins she's ever had! That sold me on it! The same kind customer mentioned something about a chocolate chunk cookie as he was asking his friend who was already sitting down what he wanted. Again, when I heard chocolate chunk cookie, I had to have one! They had samples of chocolate chip bread that was tasty, but it seemed to have sugar on it which though it is very common in most bakeries I do not prefer. I have no idea why they are putting sugar on top of pastries that are already sweet. It is likely due to the fact that most Americans are addicted to sugar! The complaint that I have is that it took forever for the barista to make my iced latte... I have no idea why... At one point after she had been working on it for several minutes she had to go get more oat milk but before that, I don't know what was taking her so long. Anyway, Copain has a cool vibe and they were playing very beautiful music that suited the vibe very well. The blueberry muffin was tasty and full of fresh blueberries but again it had sugar on top of it! The chocolate chunk cookie was also very large, fresh and soft. It was full of chocolate chunks, and I could even taste a hint of sea salt. Again, it was a little too sweet for me, though. There were several customers in Copain Bakery and Provisions enjoying their coffees and food. They have lots of edible items, including sweet and savory ones sandwiches, salads, croissants, muffins, cookies, brownies... They have ample amount of items to choose from to suit mini a distinct pallet. The service was also very friendly and warm. The prices were also what I considered to be excellent as I paid a total of less than $20 and that included the tip for my two pastries and my 16 ounce iced oat milk latte!

It would be a 5 star review if not for the chicken in my wrap. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the driest chicken I have ever eaten in my life. It was truly a struggle to chew it, and it's so sad because the other components could have made it great. There was also zero spice to the wrap, despite the name. The young lady who took my order was new, and she couldn't have been sweeter. There was some confusion while she was taking my order, but that's understandable. We all have to learn somewhere. The manager stepped in, explained she was new, corrected the order with the kitchen, and we even had a nice conversation while I waited. So imagine my surprise when I got home and discovered I still had the wrong entrée. Even more disappointing, every single side - french fries, onion rings, fried squash- was cold or lukewarm. Then there was the fish sandwich. When I order a fish sandwich from a local deli, I'm expecting an actual fish fillet. It never crossed my mind that it would be one of those square, processed fish patties. Had I known that, I would not have ordered it. And we didn't eat it. The most frustrating part is that none of these issues were because the cashier was new. The manager knew about the mistake, corrected it herself, and personally packed the order. Somehow, it still wasn't right. I truly believe in supporting local businesses, but local will never trump quality. I can overlook an honest mistake. I have a much harder time overlooking multiple mistakes in one order and food that simply wasn't worth the price.

On this visit, I was again picking up several items for a small family group. We chose fully loaded containers from the salad bar, a bow of chili, and a full sized Reuben sandwich. Once home, we split the items up for all to enjoy - nothing disappointed! This was a first try with the chili, and it was quite nice - plenty of well seasoned ground beef, no beans or onions, but was well topped with cheddar cheese! The Reuben contained 8 ounces of hot, tasty corned beef, great cheese, plenty of kraut, marble rye, and lots of 1000 Island Dressing. It was cut into the required pieces, and the additional dressing was shared - a bit messy but delicious in total. The center piece was the large amount of variety in the salad, and when well covered in the dressing this was great - not especially healthy with the amount of dressing I added!
