Have gone here for years. Japanese Steak House level food that is quick and affordable. Very very tasty. Staff consistently pleasant. We usually order pick up. Occ sit inside. Usually pretty busy because they are great. So line can occasionally wind around the building but not because they are slow. Just lots of folks ordering at the same time. I called in my order this afternoon, and left the office immediately to pickup my food from about 3 minutes away, there was two vehicles ahead of me, I noticed they paid for their food and wait about 10 to 15 minutes each while there food was prepared fresh, 30 minutes later when I got to the pickup window paid for my food and receive it, the food was cold, I even had a coworker tell me it looked like leftovers from the day before. this is unacceptable. I really wanted hibachi and my usual go to spot in Greensboro closes a bit early. I decided to make a trip to High Point! I love the fact that they have a drive through pick up, especially since it was quite cold! I ordered the hibachi shrimp and I like my shrimp well done. They as of recent have cut the food portion down by 1/2 for lunch but you still have to pay the same price they have always charged for the normal whole portion. The shrimp didn't taste fresh. The texture was weird. Same as the last time I had it. I would avoid it. The steak and chicken plate was pretty good. Steak was cooked perfectly. Being new to the area, I started looking for different restaurants to eat at. I saw this place and decided to give them a try. I tried the chicken, scallop & shrimp dish, and I must say, it was on point!!! The staff was friendly, and usually, I'm in and out without calling ahead of time to preorder. So that's a plus. However, I did not know, or like that every time I've gone there, I've been asking for a little extra onions with my veggies, and never once was I ever told there's an additional charge for some extra onions. I've been getting takeout from them once a week for the last three (3) months. Instantly, when one of the cooks sees me come in, he asks me if I'm getting my usual!!! Last week I found out I was being charged the entire time for the extra onions. I only learned this when the young lady who took my order forgot to charge me for them. The manager called me to the register and said she always charged me for extra onions, but the young lady didn't include it in the total owed. Had they not already cooked them and put them in my food, I would've told them to forego the extra onions. However, I wound up paying an additional $2+ for extra onions. That was very disappointing because where I'm from (North), they don't charge us when we ask for a little extra onions. As a manager, I would've said, we won't charge you this time but know, moving forward, there's an additional charge. This is the only casual Japanese restaurant I've found that is both inexpensive and very good. They give huge portions and serve up your food very quickly as well.
