My father and I celebrated our birthday at the China Town Buffet and it was phenomenal! Once I tasted the food, it was just like 2005 again! The nicest gentleman was putting out fresh food, I stopped him to tell him how amazing the food is and he told me that they used to manage the restaurant (starting in 2004) and they are back! I told the gentleman that I could certainly tell that something new was happening! Our server was amazing and the hostess made us a cake out of various items from the buffet. She then gave us gift certificates for a future visit. Thank you to the staff for making our Birthdays even better! We will see you soon! ~Rachel & Bob Slone

My family had 2 birthdays to celebrate, mine, and our youngest daughter, so we visited Chinatown Buffet. The choices are many, and tasty. We had a very large party, 14 adults and many youngsters, teenagers, down to infants. Accomodations were ample and the food choices many. We were welcomed with warmth, and the service was great. We hadn't been there for years and were told that other owners had been and gone. The restaurant is under new management, the same owners who we'd enjoyed years ago when we used to visit. Mt daughter and I were afforded birthday dishes and a song! We will be visiting again.

this is probably one of the better Chinese buffets in Cincinnati. However the price and friendliness isn't great.

Chris runs the place, and if kindness were a competitive sport his family would already have Olympic gold. Chris and his kids treat customers the way you wish every business in America still did..,,like you're a neighbor, not a transaction. You walk in hungry and leave feeling like you've been adopted. Now the food. The Thai dishes are the real deal, bright, balanced, and so good you start wondering if the chef has a secret tunnel to Bangkok. But the sushi? That's where things get suspicious. The fish is so fresh and high-quality it feels like the tuna signed a waiver before arriving. Their standards are higher than most politicians claim for themselves. The result: incredible Thai food, exemplary sushi, and a family running the place with genuine warmth. In a world full of chain restaurants that feel like airport terminals with menus, Chris and his crew built something rare, food that's excellent and people who are even better. Eat here once and you'll understand why regulars keep coming back. Eat here twice and you'll start wondering if you should just rent an apartment nearby. Cincinnati is lucky to have them. And frankly, so is anyone with a fork.

Steamed vegetables tasted like they were out of a bag. Lastly, the sauce barely tasted like tamarind. Was this worth $30? Absolutely not. Seared salmon was ok. The service was great. The place felt clean and seemed liked a good hangout spot.

As always, it was beautiful and clean, with some striking decorations on the wall. And our waitresses were friendly and timely the whole evening. But it was the food that was a new revelation for me. A friend ordered balimaki, which I've never tried before, and it turned out to be a flavorful marinated meat on a skewer, dramatically presented. And I absolutely loved my entree -- the May-Thai shrimp in coconut sauce -- the flavors were complex, the veggies were freshly cut, & the spice level was perfect. In fact all the meals I tasted were made-from-scratch, authentic, and expertly made.

Wow okay, I think I found my go-to Thai restaurant finally! I haven't been to this establishment…read morephysically, but I recently ordered some food here through DoorDash and the food was amazing! I am a super basic person lol so I ordered my favorite, beef pad Thai. I've noticed that the pad Thai here in Ohio, the noodles tend to be cut shorter than what I'm used to in Southern California. I do wonder if it's kind of a Thai regional type of thing. Anyways I ordered their beef pad Thai and their noodles were actually long! Finally! I've been to four other Thai places and all their noodles were cut short. The beef pad tie here was really good, it had a really good smokey flavor - and it was quite saucy which I love. I will be definitely ordering this again. My husband had the chicken penang curry and he said that the Penang curry was actually very good. They gave a decent amount of protein, but he did wish that they had more veggies. It only had broccoli. He was kind of looking for a broccoli, bell pepper, onions, etc. I also ordered a side of beef fried rice for my little one and omg, their fried rice it's actually very good. I am a little bit snobby when it comes to fried rice and not all restaurants can make it really well, but this place definitely did! It had that fried taste that you look for in actual real fried rice. The beef was tender, the flavors were good, it was just good overall. Next time I think I'll probably come here physically versus ordering it because I bet the food is even better when it's not sitting for a while.. AKA delivery lol.

The gentleman asked if we had reservations. We did not. He simply said, "Then we'll have three more guests for the evening" or something along those lines. He was very kind. Before our friend arrived, a woman stopped by to welcome us. Top notch service so far! The ambiance is beautiful. The lighted tree and decor behind us was a lot, but it felt tasteful. Jack, our server, stopped by to get us water. When our friend arrived we had a lot to talk about. Jack stopped by several times and was very chill about us taking our time. He said he didn't mind if we still weren't ready and he'd return to check on us as often as necessary. Again, kindness and patience abound at Oriental Wok. The Ma La Dumplings were absolutely delicious. The filling was delicious and the spice level, which we knew would be spicy, was perfect. Truly a wonderful bite. I had Five-Spice Tofu. The tofu was crispy as advertised and the greens were in a very light and delectable sauce. Green onions were sprinkled with the greens. I feel sometimes greens like these are an afterthought at many restaurants. At Oriental Wok they were as much a star as the crispy tofu. Mark had Orange Chicken and thoroughly enjoyed it. He mentioned the orange flavor was perfect. Either Jack asked if we wanted dessert and I missed it or he didn't ask. Our friend thought maybe he did and she said no, but she couldn't be sure. I just remember him stopping by to ask if we needed boxes. Anyway, next thing I knew we had our checks. I really wanted dessert, but I took it as a sign it was time for us to wrap up. I'm absolutely certain he would have been more than happy to bring us some dessert and update our checks, so going without was on me and that's cool. I think it's safe to say we will be back!
