My BFF and I came here for lunch after shopping. We both wanted some Chinese food and I remembered reading good review about this location. We were seated as soon as we walked in around lunch time on a Wednesday. The place was very clean and inviting. We both ordered off of the lunch menu and I got the egg drop with my meal and we both got the crab Rangoon and chicken wing. I got the moo goo guy pan (I am sure I spelled it wrong) I am going to say everything came out hot and delicious. Very happy with this place and will gladly come back. Wow! I'm so glad we found this gem of a place! Dana greeted us promptly and sat us even though we walked in 30 minutes before they closed. We ordered crab rangoons to start and they were delicious!! Probably the best that my wife has had so she says. We also ordered a round of wonton soup. So hot, fresh and delicious! Broth was super flavorful and had a perfect amount of green onion garnish in it! Dana also brought out some homemade chili oil. Super good and spicy! I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken EXTRA SPICY with fried rice, wifey had the orange chicken, and the other two in our party ordered the Kung Pao Shrimp. All came out piping hot, and seasoned to perfection. My KPC was extra hot like I like it and had small chopped red Thai peppers in it. Awesome bonus as I love Thai chilis. Had a large order, wonton soup was good, egg roll was lousy, in general they just don't make them the way they use to here or anywhere else. The double delight, sesame chicken (tender and flavorful /Shrimp crisp, not overcooked was also excellent. General Tso was the same, tender, not difficult to chew but broccoli was sparse. Chicken LoMein was ok, noodles a little undercooked and dry. Chicken broccoli, no brown sauce, just garlic, healthy. This was a takeout made quick. Solid Chinese food. I got alottt to try out. Starting with the chicken, not sure if it's just me but I never really enjoy the quality of chicken in these restaurants, thin, floppy, and just feels like the scraps. The noodles were fantastic, really made up for the chicken. Miso soup was bland. The vegetable rice was good tho. Egg roll was eh. Service was super helpful and friendly guiding us through the menu, authentic atmosphere, little pricey. Service was awesome! Not rushed but every need was met with a smile. We were the only people eating in the dining room, it was early on a Tuesday night. They had several takeout orders and it appeared they were regular customers. The food was delicious. We both ordered combo meals: mine was Mongolian Beef and my honey had Cashew Chicken. The egg rolls were crispy with shredded cabbage (not mushy ground) and a hint of peanut flavor. It's the flavor that I have been craving for years! I've always had good meals from Sun Garden on Smith Road in West Chester and recently submitted a nice review of tis restaurant. Today was an exception. Instead of their usual fresh cut veggies, my meal came with a handful of peas and carrots that looked and tasted like they came out of a bag of frozen vegetables. I pointed this out to the waitress and she said they were having some kind of supply problems. The guy at the register said, "Sorry about that" as he rang up my bill. They never offered to make it right. I should have sent the meal back to the kitchen but figured anything else I ordered would have the same unappetizing frozen vegetables. I've eaten here for years and would hate to find out they've started to go downhill. I'm hoping today was an anomaly and not a sign of things to come read more

My friend and I met for lunch here upon her recommendation. I have stopped at this strip mall numerous times, but never for Sun Garden. Well, that was a mistake, especially for lunch! The lunch specials are very reasonably priced and delicious. You choose your entrée, a soup, and they give you a complimentary chicken wing and crab rangoon; all for $9.00. Good flavors, good menu selection. Fairly standard for a Chinese takeout. Can't say I've had anything bad. I've had better and I've had worse. Service: Extremely friendly staff. Order is always ready when they say it's going to be. As a tip, I'd say arrive on the earlier side. I'd rather wait 5 minutes than having my food waiting for me. Other: There have been a few times where we order online and have found the order to be incorrect. Minor mistakes, such as fried rice instead of white. Not a huge deal but you figure if you're ordering online, it's not a case of being misheard. Would I go back? Yes. This is our "go-to" for Chinese takeout. I love finding new to me places to eat. Especially Chinese takeout. I didn't realize Sun Garden was tucked back behind a gas station near my house until I saw it here on Yelp! I got some General Tso with fried rice last week. Placed my order over the phone and it was ready in a quick 10 minutes. Chicken was good quality and flavors were on point. The place is as clean as if it just opened yesterday. The menu is large with individual and combo meals. We choose Cashew Chicken combo and a chicken pad tai dinner then shared as all Chinese food should be!!!! The egg rolls were fantastic: crisp and full of cabbage, veggies and pork. The typical dishes some out like all the rest, Sesame Chicken, General Tso's for example. For a while I would visit for the Mongolian beef, but now I'm in a Hot&Sour soup craze. We LOVE Sun Garden, The food is great. The food is always fresh and Delicious. My Absolute favorite is the Teriyaki beef and the Beef with snow peas it's phenomenal. The Beef teriyaki is marinated to perfection it's always tender the orange chicken is wonderful the chicken is crispy even in the delicious orange sauce the rice and crab Rangoon are always a crowd pleaser. actually I think the crab Rangoon is also one of my favorites. I'm definitely a fan of Sun Garden, a friendly family owned establishment. They have the typical, familiar and comforting Chinese-American food we all grew up with (I think no matter what part of the country you're from, egg fu young is a constant), including some of the more recent stuff like the Chinese chicken wings and the "lighter" steamed items. All the standard beef, pork, chicken, and shrimp dishes are here, all are very good, some are excellent. The egg foo young is especially tasty. I also recommend the Mongolian beef, Sesame beef, and Double Cooked pork. The one item I give a lower grade to is the lo mein, not as flavorful as I am used to from the New York Chinese joints. Alas, no duck. Alas, no delivery. But I can't really fault on these because they are hard to find in this area. The ever-popular Chinese "lunch special" here gives you a little better than average... You get the menu item, plus white or fried rice, plus crab rangoons AND a chicken wing, plus soup. Whew, that's a lotta chow-chow for under 6 bucks. The dine-in experience at Sun Garden is great. While it is not a fine dining scenario, as in your bigger Chinese sit down restaurants with their paper lanterns, stone Buddhas, mood lighting, American staff and corporate ownership, it is a HUGE step up from sitting down in a local Chinese takeout place. Newly remodeled, good sized dining room set apart from the takeout counter, tablecloths, comfortable seating, charming waiter service, soft music of the orient, low prices, big portions. Soft drinks, tea (of course) or beer are your beverage options. My husband and I hit Sun Garden probably about once every six weeks. For about $25-30 we end up with about three meals! Having moved out to West Chester/Fairfield in the last few years we have finally found a place for Chinese take out. Stumbled upon this little gem about a year ago. Prices are very reasonable and the food is always good. We especially like the tofu family style (going by memory on the name) Essentially lightly fried tofu in a brown sauce with vegetables. Slightly spicy, oh so good. I'm a carnivore, I love nothing more than a medium rare Ribeye, but this dish is oh so awesome. We ate lunch there today (12 - 3pm) M-S. Under $12 for two dishes with tax. Beef with snow peas and shrimp with garlic. Both come with soup (egg drop or hot and sour) and crab rangoon and a chicken wing. My fiance is Vietnamese and if the food has no flavor she will let you know. Well she loves this place. Dine in, carry out, lunch or dinner it is a great little place. read more

This is my favorite place to get lo mein. I crave it and any other restaurant I order lo mein from lets me down. It's saucy with sesame oil without being greasy. I order it with beef which is sliced thin and slightly crispy. Other dishes we've ordered have been delightful as well. I'm a huge fan of dumplings in hot chili oil and their "boiled wonton with hot sauce" appetizer does the trick. It's a thin dumpling wrapper in a sweet and spicy sauce.
