Chincho's is the quintessential PR experience. Nice location near the water, slow, hit and miss, fun, disorganized and so on. We've been coming here for years. Sometimes everything clicks. Others not so much. Live music on the weekends is the main draw. The open patio also great. Food, not 100% local, more of a mix. Not bad. Not great. Very reasonable pricong. Service always a bit of an issue, but always friendly. Don't do Chincho's if rushed. Missing the point. Sit back, enjoy the music, so-so food and a few cold Medallas. You'll be fine...!! read more

When we arrived, there were no available tables at all and we were still told to go inside and had to stand around for 20 minutes. It was super hot inside even though they had an air conditioner on. After finally getting a table, we had to wait like 10 more minutes to even get a menu. We asked for FROZEN margaritas and what we got were practically 7-11 gas station slushies that tasted extremely synthetic. We asked if they had a sampler because there wasn't one on the menu. Waitress told us they had one and explained part of what it brought so we said yes but price was never stated. When we got the check, the sampler was $68.00! When we asked the waitress, she stated they don't have the prices on the menu and that they don't even know the prices because they're always changing them. Terrible. Took over two hours to get what tasted like a frozen pizza (that was cold). Our water wasn't refilled and our waitress wasn't really around at all. Wouldn't go back for food. Parking is horrible too- we had a regular spot and got blocked in by a local (parked illegally/incorrectly) who was rude when I had to go around the bar with a photo of the car/plate trying to find the owner so we could get them to move so we could leave..... ugh. Restaurant located inside Palmas del Mar. They have a great location by the pier. I didn't enjoy the food as much as I enjoyed the live music. They have live music on multiple nights. Every time it was different type of music but always fun. The food was just OK. I heard they are known for their pizzas but I found it to be just average. The rest of the menu was not available on the night I visited. They were out of multiple dishes. At the end, I got stuffed tostones and it was not good. Overall, it is a cool spot to have fun inside Palmas with live music, great setting and good drinks not so much for food. read more

Absolutely not. If you are looking for an authentic Puertorican vibe this is NOT it. We were looking to eat and didn't know their kitchen was closed, which was fine! However, the waitress was outside standing with these two gentlemen. One who was extremely past his drink limit and kept calling me "shorty", he would not stop talking and the waitress did not care to tell him to stop being weird. I came here with my parents while on vacation. My parents visited Puerto Rico in the past, but it was my first time. They knew the manager (Juanita) and she is absolutely amazing!!! So friendly and thoughtful. I can't say enough nice things about her. Also, Arnold, one of the bartenders, is awesome too. Such a welcoming and hardworking staff. We went on a Friday night so there was live music. We sat outside and ordered lots of mojitos. The passionfruit one is delicious. We got malango chips as an appetizer (these are served with the fish and chips but we didn't want fish). My mom and I split the Juancho tacos, my dad got the fried pork with mashed malango as a side, and our friend ordered a cheese pizza with basil. The malango chips were great - I'm a big fan of taro root. The mashed malango was even better. Similar to mashed potatoes, but with more flavor. The Juancho tacos had generous portions of meat, but it was a tad chewy making them difficult to eat. Everyone said the pizza tasted like frozen pizza, but I enjoyed it. Maybe because I enjoy frozen pizza and don't consider that a bad thing! The food is pretty generic, with the exception of malango. This is the kind of place you go to enjoy a night out with drinks, music, and a wonderful staff. read more

Affordable fun and loud this is a great bar and Grill typed pub thing. But it's right for Puerto Rico you're gonna get a lot of Puerto Rican music Reggaeton and all that good stuff. And surprisingly made a very good burger and they made it to order which I thought was very surprising. So they do burgers well they do fries well go there for the beers it's a place that you go to have fun and don't think of it as a place that you take too seriously. We stayed at Palmas for our week stay so this place was an easy walk for our family. It was also our last meal before our early morning flight. The outdoor space was wonderful: a view of the marina channel, it is protected from the ocean winds and a friendly vibe. The food offerings were fairly typical of most PR restaurants. Three friends and I had to wave down the waiter for second drinks and the garnishes, like onions and mustard, that we'd specifically ordered. The pub menu is slim and boring. The live music group was tinny but, thankfully, far enough away to not interfere with conversation. I don't understand any of the comments saying that the pizza tasted like it was frozen. The Chinco's named pizza was one of the best that we have had. Crust was great, the skirt steak and sausage and chimichurri just made it delicious. We also loved the vibe with the tiki torches, on the water yet away from the wind. Not only that but one hour in the waitress came to the table to tell us that they had ran out rice (they didn't want to make more). By the time it was ready, the food was soggy and mediocre. The food is incredible and we went back home feeling so grateful to have experienced so much love and fun while eating at a restaurant. WOW! I literally just realized that this restaurant had opened (in the middle of the Covid-19 lockdown) so I ordered a pizza for lunch today - and again - WOW! The ingredients were super fresh, the sauce was delicious and UNIQUE, the cheese was superb and the crust - don't get me going about the crust! Crispy yet chewy - it was absolutely amazing. I was told by the owner that they make everything fresh (i.e. not SYSCO foods like most other establishments).... I'm looking forward to many more pizzas from Chincho's and eager to explore their menu.
