I had such a lovely experience here. First of all, I loved the ambience. It was beautiful inside. The food and service was absolutely SPECTACULAR. We got the chicken wrapped in bacon and stuffed with plantains and it was delicious. My favorite thing on the menu was the fish tacos! They blew me away! We even ordered more to bring back to the hotel with us. We also got the big mojitos to share among our table. Wow, what can I say except muy bien! We sat at the bar for lunch between meetings and the bar staff were beyond friendly and accommodating. We will be moving to Humacao in the near future and they gave us some really great tips and advice. The menu here changes frequently due to the authenticity of the dishes, freshness and quality. As soon as they are out of something it is cleared from the menu. I wanted to keep it simple l, yet try local flavors so I got a chicken Caesar wrap with tostones. I was in food heaven. By far one of the freshest and most delicious chicken Caesar wraps I've had. Perfect grill taste to the fresh chicken and yummy chunks of cheese and dressing in the wrap. I couldn't stop eating. The tostones were amazing. I'm not sure the dipping sauce that accompanied them, but top notch! The tostones had a nice crisp and were not greasy at all. We will be back for sure!!! read more

A bit clubby looking, which would probably work if it had a lively crowd. When my 4 friends and I came in it was very quiet and pretty much empty. This is understandable since it was off season (August), but even then the experience just never felt particularly inviting. We came for cocktails and a couple appetizers. It is rather expensive for how small the portions were, but the food was decent. The staff was attentive but with it being so quiet and empty I felt like we were being watched a bit too much. They didn't have a specialty cocktail menu which was rather disappointing due to it being in the birthplace of rum and its clubby atmosphere. We settled for a few cuba libres. I would recommend that they work on a fun cocktail list and put on some festive music to make it more inviting, although I do feel for them. That entire market area is pretty much dead (and half the businesses were either closed for the season or had gone out of business). But when you put that in perspective, this place doesn't really have any competition and they have a full bar, so get a little creative why don't ya? read more

Very well done. The chef is amazing write down to flavored butter that's different every time. The tuna tar tar is out of this world. This is a dinning experience not just food. I can't help but think there are reviews for two different restaurants here. Or, the restaurant has completely changed since some (all?) of the previous reviews were written. But the description is not at all the same as the restaurant we visited. This is not a fancy restaurant expecting guests to be in anything other than their normal attire. We were looking for a restaurant where we could dress up and have a nice dinner out. Based on the description on Yelp, we tried this. Before we even made it into the restaurant, the staff was commenting on us being over dressed. So here's a review of the actual restaurant in the plaza: The staff is very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent. We started with the fried cheese (amazing!) and calamari. I had the pork chops with guava (?) sauce. They were prepared well and were delicious. My husband ordered the ribeye. It was enormous! Our children ordered chicken and a burger, and said they were both very good. We also had chocolate cake for dessert. The cake was a bit dry, but it was warmed with a chocolate sauce and strawberries that help make up for that. The wine options were limited but covered the typical tastes. If you're looking for a good wine, this is not the place to go. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would recommend the C.Bar. Just know it doesn't necessarily fit the previous reviews. read more

We woke up this morning still talking about our Valentine's Day meal at CBar last night--but not because we enjoyed it, and feel the need to share how bad this experience was with the management so they know and can perhaps improve. Let's start at the beginning, the "Raw Bar" promised on the fixed menu last night. After chasing down our waiter for plates, we tried the shrimp. They were still frozen and had the texture of a sponge, as if they were fished out of the back of the walk-in cooler after several re-freezings. The oysters were delicious, but several people at our table didn't even get to try one because CBar ran out (my husband and I were lucky enough to try 2 each). Our remaining courses, appetizer and entrée, were mediocre at best--certainly not worth the price tag. Choices consisted of potato soup and a salad (which were both good), overly-fatty short rib with soggy hash, pre-frozen salmon and woefully overcooked langoustines. Service was slow or non-existent. My glass of Cabernet showed up after I finished what I could of the shortrib and we had to search for our waiter throughout the night. For the price of our prix fixe meal at CBar last night, We could have dined at 1919 in the Condado Vanderbuilt or Marmalade in Old San Juan with food 10x (20x?) as good, PLUS romantic ambiance. Let's get to the romantic Valentine's Day ambiance we were expecting. Does CBar not know what Great Gatsby is? Did they even see the movie or read the novel? I have my doubts. Great Gatsby was the theme last night and one of the biggest reasons for our collective disappointment. CBar threw a party with a 1920's theme and went to ZERO effort. I put more effort into my hair for the night than CBar when it came to their theme. The entertainment consisted of a band playing Puerto Rican music--they were good, if not a bit loud, but not 1920's. Then there was the karaoke guy. He sang karaoke by himself, loudly and out of tune. He chose to play songs from the 50's and 80's with some country thrown in (why not?). He was laughably bad...so bad we had to ask for our check and leave. Our husbands stood outside while we scarfed down some Costco desserts from the "dessert station" (after asking for plates again). We were still hungry. We are residents of Palmas Del Mar, and fully support local businesses. This Valentine's Day dinner at CBar was memorable, but not for the right reasons. It will go down in our history as one of our worst Valentine's Day meals, and it will take a long time before we stop talking about it--or spend our money at Cbar again. read more

The two appetizer , the calamares like gum, I tried but it was impossible to eat and the cod crocettes nothing of cod , I ask for a fish soup chowder style almost cold a lttle warm. In the group asked for a pasta too small it was cereal bowl. Too priced for what you get. read more

Although the portions were on the smaller side, and the price is fairly expensive, the food was absolutely delicious. If you're looking for a good meal, this is a great place to check out. I had the corn salad and mushroom risotto... Highly recommended. Our party also had vegetarians, and upon asking the waiter presented 3 additional options to what was on the menu. read more

Not sure why this restaurant does not have 5 stars. I have had lunch and dinner here many times and have always left satisfied. Their lunch menu is entirely different than dinner. They offer a wide variety of options including many chicken, pork, fish and beef dishes along with salads, burgers etc... One small piece of constructive criticism is that they need to speed up the time between ordering and food getting to the table. Have only had a bit of slower service during lunch... Food is worth the wait if you have time! For dinner, prepare to be amazed. They change their menu every 3 months and in my opinion have one of the best chefs on the island. We have had several instances where the chef is experimenting with new appetizers and desserts and brings out samples for everyone to taste. Speaking of appetizers, I've tried short rib empanadas, ceviche and many other exceptional bites here. For main course, their steaks and seafood are incredible and cooked to perfection. We haven't had a full dessert here yet but one time the chef prepared a complimentary dessert made from homemade guanabana (soursop fruit) whipped cream frozen in a bowl of liquid nitrogen and served on a cold stone dish. What an experience!! C Bar's modern atmosphere, friendly wait staff and excellent menu make this one of the top restaurants in Palmas. ¡Buen Provecho! read more

The place is very nice, specially if you like to have a couple of drinks. They have a very varied drink menu, specially mojitos. It is a bit expensive, and portions are small, but other than that, it's a good restaurant and lounge. The owner is always there and treats you really well. read more

The atmosphere here is really great! I've been here 3 times now, and each time was rewarding in its own way. For dinner, the service seems to be intentionally slow, so be sure to go with a group. The food is very high quality (as reflected in price). On Fridays and Saturdays, they often have live music, making it a GREAT place to grab drinks and meet fun new people. The owners often bar tend, and make you feel very welcome. All around, a great place! read more

Food is usually good here and it has the largest ac area in Palmanova. It's a bit pricey at dinner but a good value for lunch.

Good food and the place has a nice clean modern interior. My only issue is that we went for a business lunch on a weekday and the food took 40 minutes to come out and we had no interaction with our waiter in the last 20 minutes of that time. I saw other people were receiving their food much faster then one of my husbands coworkers came in and said that they preordered their food and that's what you have to do to get it quickly during peak lunch hours so that must be what you have to do to get it in a reasonable amount of time. Elegant puerto rican fusion cuisine in a modern art setting. Excellent in every way. I had the yellow snapper with local fruit salsa and carrot Ginger soup. For dessert I had the banana bread, caramelized bananas, vanilla ice cream, and nutella powder. Food is beautifully presented, like art. I can't recommend this restaurant enough! read more
