The service was friendly and quick. The interior is a bit outdated, but cute. I like the booth seats, feels a bit like a diner too. I got the general Tso chicken and it was tasty with crispy edges and sauce that is tasty, except for the broccoli on the side. Their egg rolls aren't my favorite either. Their hot and sour soup was good in flavor, but can use more ingredients. They have pretty good lunch special too. read more

I'm starting this review to let you know that there are definitely better Chinese options in the area. While Chinese Musician is acceptable, it just can be so much better. I ordered from here for the first time, and I was looking forward to indulging in some nice comfort food but instead part of my order tasted too salty and the other part was too bland. Their chicken wings are fried nicely, and they are definitely fresh but after the first one, you'll start to notice the saltiness. There was also a hint of curry seasoning on a couple of my wings. Now, im not mad at that at all... but it did catch me a little off guard. The sesame chicken and pork fried rice was just bland. The rice had no veggies and very few pieces of pork. The sesame chicken was was just not very memorable and was a little tasteless. The best part of my meal was the egg roll. For the prices they charge, I would expect better and with that, I won't be deviating from my go-to options again. read more

This is just my honest review.As I was a customer and I enjoyed the food. The food was very tasty wasn't saturated with oil. White rice was cooked perfectly. No complaints in that department which is my favorite. And I have been here a few times, The food is very good fresh as I was picking up my orders after works The ownership is very nice talks and does conversation in perfect good english. The business is not over Decorated but had a neat and clean feel. Chairs are nice and comfortable but waiting times for food are long at all. So, I like this place but I think you need to weigh out what it is. So many Chinese places are either take-out only holes in the wall, or more high end sit down places. This place is more square in the middle. If you're looking for authentic hot pot, this is not the place for you. The food quality (in my opinion) is a small notch above the hole in the wall place (not by much) but I like the option that you can sit here for a meal if you want, or do a quick take out or deliver place. I have been going to this restaurant since the 1980s. The staff are friendly and remember things I do, even if they haven't seen me for a while. The restaurant and bathroom are all perfectly clean. The food has changed a little over the years, but normally is good quality with good portions, and you do not have to wait to be served.. I don't order from home for delivery, since I'm old-fashioned and like to eat in the restaurant. With so many changes in our community, during the past few years, I'm glad that this relic has remained with us all these years, which demonstrates that the community does appreciate it. I have only been here a couple times because it isn't super close to where I live, but this is the only place in the generally area that fits the bill for straight forward szechuan dishes. Kings County and Birds of a Feather are good, but a little more expensive and the dishes are a little more embellished usually. The food wasn't the best, but it was top quartile. I was craving spinach with fresh garlic, and The Muscian nailed it. I also ordered Mapo Tofu, which is disappointing more often than not--at other places--but this one was good...above average. It was a little gloppy, and tasted like hot and sour soup, but the pork was good, and the flavor overall was satisfying. Also, the portion sizes were very generous, which made it a good value overall. Definitely will eat here again soon. read more

I am not fucking kidding you. The pork fried rice is just pork and rice. They don't add egg they don't add peas. They don't do all of the normal standard shit that every Chinese restaurant dad when they make pork fried rice. They do not give you condiments unless you ask for some odd reason even if it's implied that it would normally always go with something . Me and my husband are currently downing Benadryl because of this food. Right off the bat the delivery guy was a jerk because he didn't appreciate the amount of his tip that he drove 2 blocks to deliver. The food was way overpriced 39 something for a small chicken and broccoli with vegetable lo mein, general tso chicken, egg rolls, and a order of wings. And I kid you not all of it besides the greasy okay egg rolls was mediocre and downright horrendous. If me and my husband weren't so hungry we would've called them back and gotten a full refund. I actually wish we did, because whatever the case is. My husband is allergic to one thing and one thing only. Shellfish. Which happens to be one of my allergies including tree nuts, and his back is covered in hives and he is scratching like a child with chicken pox. Our throats feel dry and tight and we both may end up in the hospital tonight. Which means something along the line was cross contaminated because we literally bought nothing with shellfish. Get the egg foo young!!! Although it's not on the lunch menu, this thing is three omelettes big and the sauce is to DIE for! Super addictive and tasty! Four four people, we each got a soup, two egg rolls, and one lunch meal and two off lunch meals for a total of $39.95! Who can complain with that? Portions are generous and filling; you can definitely share without leaving hungry. We got the lunch special chicken and broccoli (which had a good ratio of broccoli to chicken) and my coworker got steamed chicken and vegetables to maintain his diet. It looked great and he said it tasted great too! This place is definitely your grandparents Chinese food restaurant, and I love that they've kept the vibe that way. I have ordered delivery from here 5 or 6 times now and each time the delivery is fast, accurate, and friendly. The food itself is classic American Chinese takeout. I always get the same thing - General Tso's Chicken and the Pan Fried Dumplings. Both are delicious every time. The quality is consistent. The General Tso's has a good spice to it but not too hot. Definitely my go to in the neighborhood (I tried almost all of the Chinese takeouts in Greenpoint and this one wins). P.S. order delivery straight from the restaurant. Have ordered from this restaurant for years, but was very disappointed with my order on Friday. The soup was just okay, the ribs were overdone and tough and all of the shrimps in the "shrimp and lobster sauce" had to be thrown out as they were bad. We had such an awful experience with this restaurant that I actually opened my laptop on this holiday break, and on boxing day nonetheless. The TL;DR is that the food was awful, it arrived 3+ hours later (despite being super close), and they messed up rice. RICE!! At 8:30 we called the restaurant and it was busy. We kept trying and finally got through only to find that the food wasn't even ready. READ: TWO AND A HALF HOURS SINCE WE ORDERED AND OUR FOOD WAS NOT READY?! At first, I heard the lady on the phone to be stressed out, but as the call progressed she sounded annoyed by our call. She said it would be delivered in another 25 minutes. 25 minutes later, no food. So, I contacted Seamless who told us it would arrive at 9:15, another 15-20 minutes later. It did arrive at 9:15 on the dot... and it was missing an item, somehow Mongolian Beef was fried (?!) and they gave us two servings of hard, undercooked rice. Seriously, how do you mess up RICE?!! Thankfully Seamless credited us, plus gave us the money back for the missing item and the undercooked rice. However, I will N-E-V-E-R order from here again. This is what they gave me a disgusting reheated chicken wings that they cooked prior to my order and it was for nothing because I begged to use the bathroom. Egg Drop Won Ton Soup - Decent, nothing to write home about but your standard expectation. Pork Dumplings (8) - Again, pretty good but standard Chinese takeout fare. General Tso's Dinner Combination - The General Tso's itself was not as spicy as I would have liked it to be and it could have used to be less sticky/syrupy! Sesame Chicken Dinner Combination - The Sesame Chicken was decent but kind of bland, to me it was basically the General Tso's without any spice and add some sesame seeds. Now onto the stars of the show!!! Pork Fried Rice - I know right, how good can it be! Well...the best fast food pork fried rice I've ever had. A tremendous amount of flavor and actually pork pieces that taste like pork. Egg Roll - Again, most egg rolls to me all taste like they come from the same generic company but these... O M G! I ordered from here for dinner last night and saved my lo mein for lunch today. After eating about half of my noodles, I found a DEAD SPIDER in my food. After contacting customer support on seamless, I was told this restaurant only refunded me for the price of my lo mein, NOT my entire meal. I wish I can say great things about their food, since the proprietors are so nice, the prices are reasonable, the portions are large and there are comfortable booths to sit in (old school)- but I can't. The only reason why I came in here was because I saw that they toted dim sum and a variety of Cantonese style dishes... and they allowed me to bring in my bike and park it next to me while I ate/ surfed the web with their one hour free guest wi-fi (from TW). I ordered the Pan Fried Noodles with Seafood, Chicken and Beef. Pan fried noodles with Seafood is a traditional Cantonese style dish. Because most general non-regional Chinese restaurants prepare American Chinese food (similar to Wo Hop crap), the best way to determine the quality of the cooking is by ordering a well known, often prepared traditional dish of the proprietor's/ chef's region. Plus I like to play it safe and order something that I know wold be prepared well. Unfortunately my fool proof ordering plan was proven wrong. The server (a really amiable older Chinese guy) got the order wrong. He brought out beef over pan friend noodles (with thick brown sauce). Usually, Pan friend noodles come with a white or seafood sauce of some sort). But no worries- I let the owner know and he brought out an extra helping of seafood... in salty dark brown sauce. It was not appealing at all. Then the noodles- thin double pan fried noodles (similar to ramen noodles)- were obviously low quality. Sigh. Okay. I let it go and asked to take the food to go- Making sure to ask the server to get rid of all the sauce so it wouldn't leak in my bag. Another mistake- I put the food in my bag and it leaked. It just got worse and worse. I actually gave the server a good tip- but honestly he got it because he was sweet and kind. But as a server, he pretty much sucks. I also wouldn't order that dish again- I would stick with their lunch specials and leave it at that. read more
