Update. My dad came and got his tooth "fixed" a year ago. Got charged a bunch and said it was necessary. The tooth is in shambles now even though he has been on top of his hygiene (brushing/flossing). Do not come here to get any work done. You will be over charged, get shoddy work and be lied to. I went to this Dentist office last Friday, 10/24/2025 for Tooth Pain. They took X-Rays. Dentist said the teeth that are hurting is not cracked. Dentist wanted to Fill one of my teeth and pull the other 2. I told the Dentist I would like to have the Tooth he wanted to fill, pulled and the other tooth behind it, pulled as well since those 2 are the primary culprits for my PAIN. I had the same symptoms on the other side of my mouth with the same 2 teeth. Those were pulled because they were cracked. He sent in the front office girl to tell me, since the tooth he wanted to FILL does not meet my insurance criteria for coverage, I have to pay out-of-pocket for the Filling. I said NO, that does not sound correct. So, she went on to say, he does not have time to do my work and he would give me a referral to see a SPECIALIST, who has better X-ray technology. I did not get a prescription for pain or anything. Come to find out, the tooth he wanted to fill is CRACKED. I have yet to receive any call or any referral information from this office. As of Today, Wednesday 10/29/2025, This office has NOT called my Insurance provider. My Insurance company has no record of them calling for any referral or any other information. I filed a Grievance complaint with my Insurance company. I will look into taking legal action for discrimination or any type of legal action if necessary. I will not return to this office if it means saving my LIFE!!! Horrible service. Very Disappointed!!! read more

Do not come here! I have a 5 year old who was going to get a root canal here. I stayed in the room while he was getting work done, they gave him the shot and started to work on him. Once the work was completed I thought the root canal was done but NO! The doctor decided to just clean the cavity and close it without my consent. He did not have a valid reason to do so, if he didn't feel comfortable he should of told me at that moment. My son was being a trooper and now I will have to make him suffer twice because this doctor did not do his job. And like I said if he had concerns it should have been brought up to me during the procedure. I can definitely call this fraud as well because they did something to my son just to get their money. Without getting into details all I wanna say is that this doctor is so helpful in every way he can. I moved to California 3 years ago from Holland and the doctor here is so understanding and helpful since I need a lot of work done and with his help I am able to afford it all. Besides that, he's doing a good job. He's quick though. The assistants are very nice. Parking is not horrible as some people say. Every time I'm there I'm able to park my car there. It's small so not easy if you're driving a huge suv lol. Which I'm not. Overal experience is just good. Nothing wrong with this place ! read more

I stopped using doctor Afifi after several months because I didn't agree with some of the treatments or costs. I got a second opinion confirming that I didn't need the extra treatment. Also I've never required the extra "deep cleaning" which he said I needed. Hygienists have a lot more training in cleaning teeth than the dentist. He did my cleaning in only 6 minutes with less cleaning then I've ever had. All of my previous dentists hygienists took about 45 minutes. Yet he charged me the full amount of a deep cleaning which made my out-of-pocket cost tremendously higher. I felt that his goal was to collect as much money as possible so I left his practice after paying and found a new dentist that I can trust. I never had these issues with a dentist before. read more

Dr. Rafifi is great with my kids. He fixed my sons chipped tooth and it came out perfect. You can't even tell it was chipped. My son was so happy with his teeth, he can smile again. First off parking is horrible here, there was also dead cat in the middle of the parking lot. As I came today for my appointment that was originally scheduled for next week, that I had to reschedule for today due to starting a new semester at school and my class schedule got changed. I walked in and it was hot, stuffy, and waiting room was very packed. I was greeted with a "hi" and as I stand in front of the receptionist for about a minute before she asked me for my info and etc. She then said she couldn't find my name and insisted that I was at the wrong place and I needed to go next door. I have been to this place at least 3 times and I asked her if they been at this location within the past 3 years and she said yes and I the told her that I was in the correct place because I was there last year. So she looks for my info again and once again insisted I go next door. I looked in my phone for their contact info, read it back to her and asked her if this was this place and she said yes. Then some how she found me in her system and said my appointment was next Tuesday as I explain above and to her that I called last week to reschedule to today because I start my new classes next week. So she said "well we can't see you today, we are way to busy." Then asks if I can go in next Tuesday, obviously knowing I had to reschedule due to school schedule so I told her no, then she proceeds to ask me rudely and obviously annoyed, if I can come next Friday and I told her no I have class also. Than she says she don't know what to tell me and can't help. Baffled that she wouldn't look at any other dates, let alone want to help me, I couldn't bare her rudeness and bite my tongue anymore so I just had to walk away before I caused a seen. I've never came across someone who is this rude and not willing to help their patients. She was a older Hispanic lady, with dark black hair. So be prepared for her rudeness. It's unfortunate that this is the type of women that is representing this office and because of this women I will no longer be going to this dentist. read more

This is hands down the best dentist I've ever been to. I had a really bad experience with a dentist when I was really young which gave me anxiety every time I visited the dentist thereafter. But the staff at Chino Valley Smile Center is so nice and professional. Dr. Afifi is very gentle and patient and ever since I started going to him, I haven't had a single bad experience. I had an implant done last week and not only did Dr. Afifi and Marissa work really fast (just under an hour) but it was also completely pain free. Then I received a follow up call from them later that evening to see how I was feeling. They make their patients feel cared for and comfortable and I feel so relieved to have found a dentist I can trust. read more

So I have to repost my review bc I only spoke of my husbands experience, so yelp yelled at me and took it down bc I'm sure the dental office flagged my review. I don't trust this dentist. The last time I was here, I had to wait 45 minutes to be put in a room for my sons dental appointment. I had to complain to the staff to even be put into an exam room. There was only one other lady in the lobby waiting to be seen. She showed up after me and my son, filled out new client paperwork and was taken back to be seen before us. I let it slide until it was almost an hour since our scheduled appointment Time. After listening to the conversation between said client and all other staff members, it became apparent that this "new client" knew the staff and dentist. So of course she got special privileges and got to go before me and my 7 year old son who doesn't really like the dentist. Now answer me this; why would you make a child sit and wait and have all that fear build up for an hour before being seen? Studies have shown how important it is to make sure kids have good and swift experiences at the dental office so as not to traumatize them and set them up for dental phobias. So big fail on that aspect. They also had my number in their system incorrectly and were unable to confirm my appointment. So that same day of our appointment, I called to verify bc I didn't get any communication from this office. Turns out they had my number entered incorrectly. If I remember correctly, appointment was at 4 and I called at like 3:30-3:45 and said I could still make it to that appointment, since I live 10 min away. But guess what?! Because I hadn't confirmed my appointment, the dentist has left for the day! It wasn't even my appointment time yet and the dentist just took off. Last I checked when I worked in a doctors office, you never assume the patient isn't going to show up until they actually don't show up. Shame on you guys for a) flagging my first review and having it taken down so as not to disturb your ratings and b) shady practices. Suggesting unnecessary procedures and trying to say my 7 year old needs braces. Calm down, he's 7. We'll figure it out once he's the appropriate age for braces, like perhaps after he's lost all his deciduous teeth. read more

I have dentist anxiety like no other. I havent been to the dentist in over 10 years because i had a horrible dentist that treated me like crap. That is so not the case with Dr. Afifi. He was so incredibly kind, gentle, and understanding. He broke everything down for me so i understood the importance of what and why he was recommending treatment for me. I cried most of the time i was there and he was nothing but reassuring and compassionate towards me. Dr. Afifi is a good, gentle and a very professional doctor. He even warns you before actually blowing air or water in your mouth - warning of possible sensitivity. I have had several extractions done by him and believe me have not been discomforted even once, even though I fear a dentist more than I fear Dracula. He always explains the procedure to be done and lets you know your options and he will always ask if you have any questions or conerns. They are very accommodating and flexible, never over booking! Hands down one of my favorite dentist. I didn't feel the numbing part which is the worse part of the process. Very gentle And he was so quick too. I got a filling done and a cleaning. I had a bunch of stain from smoking but he was able to remove it all. My smile looks as new as ever. The smile is very nice and clean. The staff really spoiled me when I was there. Horrible company!! I called and made an appointment and as a non Insurance client was told it would cost $49 for exam X-rays and cleaning, which is listed on their website as well as a sticker on the window of their building. With an appointment still took an hour to see the dentist. After the x-rays the receptionist came in to tell me X-rays and cleaning was going to be like $240. After arguing I left without a cleaning and told them go ahead and charge me the $49 but this is a scam and these people are Crooks. read more

Never going back a few weeks ago my husband and I went in for her normal routine dental cleaning and also asked for a thorough dental check up. I was told that I needed half a crown filling for one molar that supposedly was not covered by my insurance and that I needed to pay $850 cash for this procedure. It seems a little odd so I called my insurance and according to my insurance the procedure was covered I just felt like I was going to be taken for a fool and taken for my money this place deserves zero stars for the lack of communication from the dentist Diana the receptionist is very nice very polite and very welcoming.
