He went to go to the supply house and I got a text from him saying that an emergency came up and he'd have to come another day. One day shot but I know these things happen. He was supposed to come this afternoon instead. Sat here again all day and he never showed up. Sent me a text at 4 pm asking if he could come Monday instead. As they say, burn me once shame on you. Burn me twice shame on me. I could not do it Monday anyway but honestly, I would have been hesitant to agree to that. Jack is a polite soft spoken young man. I'm sure he's trying to learn how to navigate this high pressure work situation here on the Cape, high demand and little supply. And you want to please people by saying you can come, but it really is kinder to just say no if you pretty much know you won't be able to show up when you promised. I guess that's something you learn with experience. If you want someone who will keep their word and show up when they promised, Jack is not your guy. So I wanted a local electrician to come out to figure it out and fix. I wanted an actual local electrician not some company 2 hours away that pops up at the top of the list just because they want to start providing "service" in the area. (Found that out when trying to find a "local" deck builder a few years ago via Yelp). Anyhow, I called Ed, explained the problem, he had me check a few things, and pretty much identified the problem over the phone. He said he was on another job at the moment and would get back to me later in the day. Unlike many of the other services I've reached out to on Yelp lately, he actually followed through and came by late afternoon. Within about 10 to 15 minutes he found a short in an outlet and fixed the problem. I will not hesitate to contact Ed again for all my electrical needs!
