Let's start by saying that the options in this area are limited. Most restaurants start of well, but then come down with retrograde amnesia where they can't recall memories of appropriate potions and quality of food. This place is crowded for a reason. They have fresh ingredients, they work quick, the prices are reasonable, and they remember to give appropriate portions. I was in the area and needed a quick lunch. I got my usual salad bowl with no rice. All ingredients were fresh, and I found a nice seat upstairs. There is a restroom upstairs, and it's clean. I was surprised, because this is usually not the case in busy areas. People clean the tables after they are finished eating, and it can be said that the restaurant is clean overall. Staff are friendly, and I would recommend you coming here if you're in the area and need a spot for a quick lunch. read more

I visited here at the 12pm lunch hour and of course expected a wait but this was borderline ridiculous. When I finally got to the front they seemed a bit overwhelmed (perhaps trainees). I ordered a veggie bowl and when I asked for guac the young man put about 1/4 of it on the container and the counter. I had to ask him to change the cover because he was about to make a whole mess. The cashier seemed to have an attitude. Needless to say I wont be coming back here. When I got back to work to eat the brown rice was hard like it wasnt finished cooking and the lettuce was wilting. Have ate at this location many times. Almost every time the tables are left disgustingly dirty and a mess. If you request an area to be cleaned, the workers will brush you off and just stand around on their cell phone instead. This location is consistently the worst Chipotle I have ever been to. Rude servers that almost always mess up your order because they are talking amongst themselves instead of listening to you. Portions are small and inconsistent - you usually have to ask twice just to get the portion you would get at any other Chipotle. Any specific requests such as "a tiny bit" of something, such as cheese, will result in that item being the dominant item in your burrito. Also, without failure the same guy will be opening the door for you, begging for change when you walk in and out of the restaurant - every time you visit without fail. Horrible. Fail. Chipotle should be ashamed of this location. Do yourself a favor and walk a bit further to the Court Street location - you will be much more satisfied. read more

Listen, yo: I am not anti-Chipotle *at all*. There was a time when I was living in Chicago and was equidistant from three different Chipotles, all about a 5-minute walk in different directions away from my apt. I was eating at the Chipotles so often that I made sure to balance out my visits about equally between the three different stores, just so that the counter staff wouldn't look at me and say: there's *that* kid again. But *this* Chipotle has its problems. Namely, it's just not very well maintained. The table tops always seem to be dirty and need to be wiped down. They seem to have only one or two Tabasco bottles to go around for the entire restaurant . No fresh limes or lemons by the soda machine. The ice machine was broken once. Basically, all of the little details that make Chipotle seem *not* like a fast-food restaurant are lacking at this location. read more

It breaks my heart to rate Chipotle 1 star, but we had a pretty lame experience. I ordered a large (15 orders) catering meal at 10am from their website online paid for it then, etc. It was for a pick-up time of 5:45pm. I show up with two people to pick up the order and am told by someone that they were under the impression that the order was a prank and that they tried to call me to verify but didn't get through. -_____- 1. They never called me. 2. It was paid for online. 3. I have ordered like this 3 times before in the past and have NEVER been called to verify. 4. This is complete crap. So unmoved by the crap lies I was being told, I demanded that they expedite the meals. Many people waiting in line left because the entire staff was making food but the line was not moving. They comped us a bag of chips while we waited (on my request). We were out of there by 6:05. We get back to the meeting and lo and behold all of the orders are messed up. there is absolutely ZERO fajita veggies in any order and ZERO beans in any order either.... What the crap? Came here on a warm day to enjoy a burrito bowl and it was good! Really love the well air conditioned interior to escape the hot day. Plenty of seating since there are 2 floors and well spaced out. Staff is friendly handling the orders. Ordered a burrito bowl and was jipped with the amount of rice and green peppers. Got plenty of tomatoes and chopped lettuce though. Couple this with a drink and the meal was $10. Refills on the soda! The condiment station was clean and well organized. Plenty of lemons and sauces available. What ticks off one star is the shortage of rice in the burrito bowl and management didn't handle this guy at the doorway. He was asking for money while opening the door for customers. Awkward silence entering, but thankfully he was gone when I left. Overall, good spot to get a burrito fixing plus a happy dose of AC. read more

Chipotle is my favorite fast food place that I have tried to date. The fresh ingredients really make a difference. This one branch however is my favorite in NY. The location is great, but parking in this area is horrendous. If you're in the area and looking for fast food this Chipotle tops all other Chipotles in NYC. The service is great. I don't know how they do it but they pack so much into the burrito and give bigger portions than other Chipotles. I love getting the Burrito bowl, with double chicken, fajita toppings, brown rice, black beans, mild, corn, guac, cheese, and lettuce. Put in a little bit of the smoked tabasco sauce and i'm in heaven On top of the bigger portions this chipotle gives, It's pretty close to the Brooklyn Bridge Park. Where you can eat with a view. I LOVE Chipotle but this particular location is the WORST. I had one person totally mess up my order then when I told her "I don't want corn" she said, "Not my problem". Today I decided to give them another chance and ordered soft taco with barbacoa. He put, literally, a PINCH of meat. I thought they were joking but no. He ignored me and went to the next customer. The cashier just pretends she does not understand. Someone from Chipolte should check out this place. They are giving them a bad name. I've been to a number of Chipotle locations and this one is definitely my favorite. When you first get there, the line most likely will be long but they expedite like pros and the most you'll be waiting is 10 minutes, which is not bad at all. The food always fresh and delicious and they make their burritos not fall apart when you unwrap them, something that other Chipotle locations do. If you get a burrito bowl, they are generous with the meat and other add-ons, especially if you are a regular (**ahem, like I was when I was in college and lived a block away**). The restaurant itself is spacious, they have seating downstairs as well as upstairs. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area. read more

I love Chipotle, and I love this location as it is the closest to my house. The portions are also substantial and all of the employees I've worked with are nice. HOWEVER, the only problem I have is from the few times I've been here, half of the time the rice seems under cooked and granular. Considering the rice is one of the most important parts of the meal I'm gonna have to give it three stars. Word of warning. I'm a Chipotle fanboy. I come to this location about once a week and well, I've lived close to a Chipotle for pretty much the past 7 years -- which means a lot of burrito bols (which is what I always get). I mean, let's cut to the chase. These aren't authentic Mexican burritos...far from it. But honestly, of all the chain places out there, this is the absolute best for me. The food is consistent at all the locations. I love the barbacoa...and the steak and chicken are also great. Now -- this particular location on Montague. The dining options on this street are pretty poor (honestly, Five Guys and Chipotle are the best, I think). So the Chipotle here is always a good option if you're in the neighborhood. The lunch rush here can also get VERY crazy -- pretty much avoid this place from 1 to 2pm, unless you REALLY want Chipotle. I also like that it's pretty much been the same people working here since I've started frequenting this place. So we always chat it up and see how everyone is doing and stuff. And let's just say...if you take care of them, they'll take care of you. read more

I love their chicken burrito bowls! It's less messier to eat than a regular burrito, especially if you have to go back to work. One of the reasons why I like this Chipotle location, besides the fact that I work close to here, is because there is additional seating on the second floor. However, the lines here can be out of this world during lunch time. The only times that I've seen where the line is not snaking around the restaurant is if it's pouring outside or if it's snowing. Sometimes, to speed up the process, they do have a staff member taking your orders while waiting in line (only if paying by credit/debit card), and when you get to the cash register, all you have to show them is your receipt, they stamp it, and you're on your way out! Despite the long lines, if I'm craving for Chipotle, I will wait on that line, even if the regular line is on average 20-25 minutes long. read more

This location should be called CHEAP-otle. It's about $2 less for my order than I pay in Manhattan. A few years ago Chipotle jacked up the prices in NY, but skipped the outer boroughs, and I take full advantage when I'm nearby! Disclaimer: I'm a chipotle fanatic, and have probably been to most of their NYC locations, but for price and seating, this (along with the one on 18th & 8th in Chelsea) is one of my favorites. They have an upstairs area that is rarely full despite the huge crowds, and the long lunch lines move quickly. They occasionally use a mobile POS (register) device to speed up the process. Online ordering is available if you want to bypass the line, but whenever I see someone picking up their order at the register, the cashiers seem a bit inconvenienced and overwhelmed trying to handle the order while staying attentive to the huge moving line they're trying to ring up. read more

I have eaten here about 2-3 times. the first time I got a steak burrito and it had pieces of meat in it that were unchewable and had to try to covertly cover my mouth to spit it out into a napkin. Damnnit I hate the fact that I am giving five stars to a chain restaurant, especially in NYC. I'm not certain the coloquial definition of "fast food", but I suppose this qualifies. The thing that separates Chipotle, as I'm sure everyone knows, is the freshness and quality of the ingredients. There's always fresh meat coming from the grill to the chopping board to be enveloped in freshly pressed tortilla wraps. My fix: Chicken fajita burrito with mild salsa + a little medium, corn, sour cream, cheese and lettuce. I don't request the crack to be sprinkled on it but I know it's added at some point in the assembly line. This part is kinda gross but my favorite thing about Chipotle is every time I burp for the rest of the day I get a little taste of the deliciousness. Sorry, but it's true. And delicious. Anyway, Chipotle rules and the line (during the random times I've been there anyway) aren't crazy. There's been more than one occasion I've been in and out the door in three minutes. Also, I can eat two burritos in ten minutes. It's a fact. I may try three in 20 if I'm dared. read more

Seriously, who doesn't love chipotle?! I'm in the nieghborhood pretty often because my school and gym are near, so chipotle (CH) has become one of my fav lunch spots. However, as many Chipotle devotees, may tell you, what may start out as an occasional hankering can quickly become an addiction lol. It is located near a couple of colleges and school, so in addition to the locals and nearby employees, there is a fair amount of young people who dine here but they are pretty tame and I've never seen them cause a ruckus. My one gripe with this particular store is the people behind the counter. While on the whole, the employees due a satisfactory job, there are certain employees, when I see them, I sigh because I know they will get my order wrong. It seems as if they are either in too much of a rush to fill your order or they're simply not listening carefully to customer requests. The assembly line prep of the food is quite efficient, IF the the ingredients you asked for are actually included! Speaking of ingredients, IMO, everything from the onions/peppers to the guacamole are fresh and delicious. As someone from a carribean culture, rice is a staple in my diet and as such, I have high standards when it comes to it. I have to say that I am amazed if a fast food place can provide decent rice and Chipotle surely does deliver on that end! The one exception to my love affair with Chipotle's food, however, are the carnitas. To me, they were pretty bland so that's a selection I won't be making again. I've been to a couple of other chipotles, but overall, this particular one is my favorite . Its big (2 floors of seating), there are multiple bathrooms, and of course, the prices are cheaper in comparison to it's manhattan counterparts. Sure, a meal here may cost you more than traditional fast food places but you're paying for quality and the cost difference is about $2, so it's not as if you're going to be breaking the bank. In a world full of prepackaged food and fried something or other, CH is a fresher, tastier and healthier alternative! Bonus Tip: if you like the burritos but you feel as if they're too big/ too much food for you, order 2 soft shell tacos and ask them to fill them with whatever you'd normally put in your burrito..its like 2 mini open face burritos! read more

Yikes. I am a huge fan of Chipotle. I have eaten Chipotle in various states and even London. I know my Chipotle! This location sucks. Hands down the most unkempt location I have ever encountered. The soda machine never works (and even if it is "working" there isn't enough CO2 to make the sodas drinkable). The tables are encrusted with dried sour cream. The trash overflows. The upstairs area, while helpful during lunch rush, shuts down at night. I would highly suggest forgoing the better seating and walking south on Court Street to the location behind Trader Joe's. That being said, the food quality isn't necessarily poor here. There is high turnover of food given how busy the area is. I might just suggest getting the food to go and skipping the soda. read more

I've been having Chipotle for about 2 years now from this area and has yet to dissapoint. The menu is straightforward and you order in a subway type fashion. I've had everything on the menu so far so you can't go wrong. This place will certainly fill up your appetite, especially with the Bean Burrito. There's plenty of different spicy sauces and nacho chips you can buy on the side that are great! Though becareful at the times you go, because the line can reach all the way to the door. Not sure if they deliver but i know you can order via phone, fax, and even online....but be sure to check your order before you leave. I've had getup orders get messed up enough times to get me opening each one at the counter. They take cash and credit (which is perfect on my book) and they have an average selection if drinks behind the register. Give it a try and you'll deff be back. read more

I absolutely love this Chipotle. It is so much cheaper in this one than the ones in the city! Only downside is that from 11-2, it's lunch time, and everyone working in the nearby law/office buildings get lunch at Chipotle, so the line is ridiculously long. Also, expect long lines at 5-6. read more
