I recently ordered six chicken tacos from Tacobees, along with black beans and guacamole. Five of the tacos were fine, but somehow, the sixth "chicken taco" arrived without any chicken in it whatsoever. LIKE WHAT?! COME ON BRO! I'm not talking about a taco that was light on chicken. There was literally no chicken inside, just black beans, guacamole, and the tortilla. The photos speak for themselves. How does someone prepare, inspect, and package a chicken taco without noticing that they forgot the main ingredient? The tacos that actually contained chicken were decent, which makes this even more frustrating. I paid for six chicken tacos and received five chicken tacos plus one accidental vegetarian taco. When customers order delivery, they should not have to dismantle every item at home to confirm that the restaurant remembered its most basic ingredients. Mistakes happen, but this reflects a serious lack of attention and quality control. Its also not like its something they just missed, whoever made it knew they did not give me any chicken and did not care. Tacobees needs to do a much better job checking orders before they leave the restaurant because a chicken taco without chicken is not a minor mistake. I heard so many great things about Tacobee's that I knew I had to visit. There sadly are not a lot of true late-night eateries open after the pandemic, but it's good to know Tacobee's is open every day until 3am. They are a short walk way from Nostrand Av (3) station or President St-Medgar Evers (2/5) station. As an ex-Chipotle lover, I was really curious to see how Tacobee's compared. It seems to me they have a wider variety of options overall, from protein choices (three different types of vegan options, three different types of chicken options, three different types of beef options, AND shrimp) to toppings (free queso and spicy queso, free guac for all vegan entrées) to sauces. Overall, I was very pleased with my burrito bowl, though I have to admit I liked the texture of Chipotle's sofritas better than the tofu at Tacobee's because the former absorbed flavors better. But, given the variety and freshness of all the toppings and protein choices, Tacobee's is an excellent alternative to Chipotle, especially if you like supporting small businesses. PS- There are no pork options because this is a halal eatery. They also have a late afternoon/evening chicken bowl special for teachers and healthcare workers for only $9.99! My son is 13 years old. He has been bothering me for two weeks to go to Tacobee's. Finally on Sunday I tell him come one let's grab a nice lunch. Well you should've seen his face when I walked to the door and he finally connected the dots. The line wasn't long, but service was busy due to online orders. He had the loaded fries and I had a quesadilla both with honey chicken. He gave his bowl 8.5 out of 10 and I give mine a 9/10. The flavor is so good and the service is definitely a 10/10! Just go! For Tex-mex on a budget this place isn't bad. Good space, a lot of workers and the place is usually clean! I only came one time and the tables were kind of dirty. Looked like they haven't been wiped down all day, so I just got my food to go. What I like about to-go or delivery is they have special packaging for tacos so they don't arrive all amess. This is a make it your way, kind of like Chipotle. You pick the dish ie., tacos, quesadilla, burrito, bowl, etc. Then you pick your protein I like the honey chicken or shrimp and then the toppings which all are fresh. The menu was not very clear regarding the taco options, so I had to ask how many tacos came with an order and whether I could choose different proteins. Unfortunately, I had to repeat my questions several times because there seemed to be some confusion, which made the ordering process more difficult than it needed to be. It would have been a much smoother experience with more attentive listening and clearer communication. I did appreciate the care that went into preparing the chicken tacos. They were generously filled with chicken and had a satisfying amount of toppings. The shrimp tacos, however, were noticeably different. Each taco had only a few pieces of shrimp and very few toppings, which made them feel inconsistent compared to the chicken tacos. The bottled soda from the freezer was very flat, which was disappointing. They seem to cater more to the Ubereats and Grubhub orders , a took a star for that. Otherwise so many fixings they even have shrimp and a honey chipotle chicken as a protein. I got a honey chipotle bowl with Mexican rice, black beans, pico, guacamole, lettuce, onions, cilantro, Mexican cheese, mango sauce, sour cream and cilantro sauce. I know a lot but the flavors marry each other well on your palette trust me. I also ordered from the kids corner 2 soft corn tacos one shrimp and the other grilled chicken. You can put the same fixings if you want but for me it was too much. The selection of Jarritos is pretty good even though I don't drink soda but avid soda drinkers this is good. I took mines to go and kept it cute because I knew I had sit at home and eat this messy goodness. I came here after a late night out with my friends and this halal restaurant definitely fulfilled my tastebuds. This late night joint offered a variety of good options from tacos, quesadillas, chicken, burgers, and burritos and bowls. Chipotle might have to move over cause tacobees is a must. I got a burrito bowl with Mexican rice, black beans, half honey chicken, half shredded beef, onions and peppers lettuce and they have so many sauce options to choose from. Today was my first time at Tacobee's. I woke up busting out of my work clothes from all of this weight I keep gaining and my outfit decided it was time for a salad. I walked into this place and was greeted by all of the tasty Tex-Mex salad goodies. Tacobee's offers mixed salad greens, beans, a few meat and poultry options and veggie goodies like fried cauliflower. I ordered a salad bowl topped with shredded chicken, guac, corn, green goddess dressing and a lime wedge on the side. It was fresh and tasty. A big plus was that all of the hot cooked foods had actual smoky steam wafting from it. Tacobee's has a cute black and white, tile design. Maybe I'll sit in for lunch before my next nail salon trip. That thang was so stuffed i'm surprised they were able to roll it to perfection. The rice and meat ratio is outstanding. Chipotle could never! That's not even exaggeration. That burrito was SO BIG, I cradled it like a newborn baby. The bowls and burrito were a delightful explosion of flavors, with the aroma matching my expectations. To my surprise, it was milder than I anticipated, with the Cilantro sauce, Spicy Queso, and mango habanero working in perfect harmony. The unique flavors complemented each other, allowing each component to shine without overwhelming the meat. My only minor complaint is that there is no white meat, I've noticed it's all dark meat including the shredded chicken. I needed some late-night comfort food and I saw nothing but good reviews here so I ordered via Uber Eats and gave it a shot. Delivery was as expected. The packaging was great, everything was together. They did include utensils, but no side sauces. I ordered 3 Soft Tortillas Tacos, with Sweet and Spicy Shrimp, spicy queso, red chopped onion, Mexican cheese mix, lettuce, cilantro sauce, and sweet mango verde sauce. With everything I just mentioned I thought the flavors would jump out at me, however, they didn't. I had so much hope in the taste of these tacos. I even picked up the shrimp and ate it alone and it assured/disappointed me that I was right. The cheese I would've expected to be a bit melted like the images I've seen on Yelp, but they weren't. The protein options grilled chicken, honey Chipotle chicken , shredded chicken, ground beef, steak and they have shrimp and tofu options too. The server let me try the shrimp even though I was ordering something else. Generous portions especially with the protein. Rice bowls, tacos , burritos , quesadillas and salads . You choose up to 8 toppings along with your rice , beans and protein, then choice of 2 sauces. Large selection of Jarrito flavors for drinks. I saw a couple pre portioned desserts ,honestly didn't pay much attention, I think one may have been flan . High point for me was the taste of the food - very well seasoned and fresh. I believe you can add 8 things to your bowl, but I think I got around 6. Either way, the person wasn't counting or pressuring me about it, which was cool. Overall, I enjoyed my bowl. I do wish the honey chicken had more flavor. It was just... sweet. Maybe there was a hint of bbq. But it needed something else. Either more or a smokey/grilled flavor, some heat, more garlic... just... something more. But it wasn't bad by any means! I also wish I'd added some spicy salsa or jalapeños, I think that would've kicked it up a notch, but I didn't need those kind of indigestion problems lol. My only downfall is that they don't put a lot of toppings. Can't taste the queso, barely any cheese or sauce. For the nachos it was a good size and very filling! Can't taste the queso, good amount of meat (steak) for paying extra for quac they don't give much at all! Chips were nicely salted and crispy. Went here on an impromptu date night yesterday and still great food. They feel like when I use to eat at grandmas house - made sure you get fed and fed well. It was excellent and a lot - one gets their money's worth. Way better than chipotle. And their friendly and generous with quantity. The place is popular as well since that door kept swinging open. Wow! This neighborhood desperately needed a versatile restaurant like this. I was walking on Nostrand Ave yesterday and noticed tacobees. After checking the place out I decided to try the food and was not disappointed. The format here is similar to chipotle but that's where the comparison stops because the food is considerably better. FLAVOR is the difference maker here. I tried the steak, grilled chicken and honey chipotle chicken tacos. Each meat had a distinct flavor profile an not bland tasting like other similar places. The veggies and guac were FRESH. While I was there I saw them constantly swapping out toppings to maintain the freshness. I loved the fact that their habanero sauce was actually HOT. My tacos were 5/5. What I appreciate most about tacobees is the value. Nowadays it seems like if you don't spend $15 in a restaurant your going to still be hungry after you eat. Tacobees is giving you 3 tacos filled with meat for around $11. By the time I finished the second taco I was already full. I got my monies worth and more which means everything in this economy. I'll definitely be back to tacobees, especially since I realized they have loaded fries that I have to try. Great spot for a quick bite just around the corner from me! Was craving a good burrito but as it's the fourth of july a lot of places were closed, but they were still open around 4:30. The burrito was massive which I loved as most of the burritos I've had in nyc have been really small and as someone originally from california I'm used to pretty big burritos for a cheap price. I got a steak burrito with guacamole and it came out to $13 total which I'm not mad about at all. There were like 5-7 people working there when I stopped by, some making/refilling food, some taking orders and someone else cashiering. My burrito was made pretty quick so I was able to get in and out in about 5 minutes. The burrito was full of flavor and more than enough food to fill me up.
