    Marionberry puff
    Erik N.

Ok this time I bought marionberry puff, tomato pastor croissant, ham & cheese croissant, dark berry cakes and pecan pinwheel cookie. The marionberry puff was a feast for my stomach after being a feast for my eyes... The pecan pinwheel cookie's chocolate puff is made out of all your hopes and desires.. The gf likes pesto, and it was good. But surprisingly the basic ham & cheese croissant is as good as you would expect without fail.. And it seems like if there are any cake slices, it's this dark berry cake, and it is awesome!!!

A small cozy shop with many pastries, tarts, and pies! They also serve sandwiches, breakfast, salads, and have soup of day. We ordered * strawberry Marionberry Scone: 3/5. A little too sweet. Not bad. * plain croissant: 4/5. Simple as it can be. * cheese danish twist: 4.5/5. The best one and flavor is all there and balanced. I ended up finishing everything on the spot. I also got the Tres Leches Coffee, easy 5/5. Service was pretty quick, and they try to get people served as quickly as possible.

French baguette (or, just white bread), apple tart (just ok), chocolate chip cookie - best of the bunch.

First, I'd like to say Emma at the counter was awesome. She was very helpful and kind. And Kenneth on the phone, who took my original order was also nice. Go Emma and Kenneth! Solid 5 stars for these two. Now, on to the pastries... I purchased a French baguette, an apple tart and chocolate chip cookies. The French baguette was flat, soft, and didn't have any flavor. There was no crust to it, no crackling. Nothing against plain white bread, but it was like plain white bread... when I wanted a baguette. Maybe it was an off day, but I would pass on the baguette. 1 star. The apple pear tart was pretty sweet. And the crust was dense without any layers. It was alright, but nothing special. 1 star. The chocolate chip cookies were the best part of my purchase. Although not a full rant, these were your basic chocolate chip cookie. Slightly better than what you would get in a package, but not the cookie you would come back to. 2 stars.

Service- no eye contact, greeting or communication with people coming in. Seems like an older establishment with some built up grime. I wanted to give their sweets a taste- Chocolate chip cookie- decent texture, eh flavor Chocolate dream cookie- decent texture, decent flavor Tiramisu- great texture barely any flavor Eclairs- great texture but the custard had no flavor. Red Velvet, chocolate pudding, vanilla with berry jam cupcakes- all the cake was eh the frosting I think was the same on them all and eh

Such a cute spot! They have a wonderful selection of pastries and baked goods as well as drinks and sandwiches. I got the tomato pesto croissant, almond croissant, chocolate croissant, and the cinnamon roll. Everything was so tasty and the croissants live up to the name! So buttery and flaky!! I'd love to come back and try some of the drinks and sandwiches. Note: One single gender neutral restroom is available

They serve breakfast too! The plates are huge! Everything has really good flavor, its a small place but really good to come here and get breakfast whether you want eggs, omelette, chilaquiles, or croissants, or bread. They have a good variety of breakfast! The service is great and the staff are friendly.

The Buttery is a cute bakery and cafe. Unfortunately, we had just finished a late lunch and decided to get a dessert or something and this place popped up so we decided to check it out. They had a busy day so the selection was sparse. The service was very friendly and thoughtful. She was patient and recommended some of her favorite cupcake flavors. We ended up getting a slice of carrot cake, and a couple of cookies (snowball & peanut butter). The carrot cake was moist, though the icing seemed to be butter cream and not the usual cream cheese frosting. It was still good and I'd get it again. The snowball cookie was good. The PB cookie was firmer than I liked. But it had crunchy peanuts in it and a good flavor. They have indoor seating and a lot of picnic tables outside surrounded by flowers and other plants. Support your local business.

I was introduced to this place by my former manager. Whenever I'm in the area I have to make a pit stop here. Service is quick, there are multiple cashiers. The place can get pretty packed. There is a decent sized dine in area. Don't expect nice decore or instagram-able ambiance, you're there for the food and that's all that matters. If you want to make sure all the flavors are available, I'd suggest going earlier if it's a weekend. The price is average and reasonable. One of THE BEST carrot cake cupcakes! And I honestly could not care less about carrot cake flavor, but this one blew my mind. Oh my gosh my mouth is watering just thinking about it lol. My husband and I tried their tiramisu and some other cupcake options and all are literally SO good. The dangerous part is they're not too sweet (best Asian dessert compliment btw lol). Just the right amount of creaminess, and the flavors are spot on. They're consistent with the quality of their products. I haven't tried their savory foods so I don't have any pointers on that. Bottom line: Will always make a pit stop here!

Friend got them for a baby shower, great spread. Very decadent and yummy. Tasted the red velvet and I'm a fan of the frosting, not super thick and sweet, light and flavorful and the shaved nuts is such a nice crunch.

We stopped by a couple days after Christmas, after a morning of whale watching, so maybe 3:30'ish? The cases were pretty much ravaged and our options were limited. We got a couple of devil's food cupcakes and a variety of cookies from the sparse selection at the end of the day. From our purchase, the pecan sandy was my favorite, the thumbprint my least. Everything else was meh, tasting as though they had been out for a couple of days. My husband enjoyed the cupcake as it wasn't super sweet, but I thought it was just okay. The service was prompt, though at the end of the day, they weren't very busy. staff was helpful and polite. Not sure it's worth a special trip, but if I'm in the area, I'd go back for a second visit, especially if it's earlier in the day and there's more of a selection.

Cute location and flower market directly behind the building! Cookie was delicious, but macaron and tart were just okay. Plenty of seating options and friendly staff. Would probably visit again to try something new!

The Buttery's hot food kitchen is abysmal. I've never seen a more low effort, high price menu in my life. When I opened my take out box I started laughing because it was so funny. It's insulting to charge for something like this. Won't be back. Behold - the saddest avocado toast I have ever seen in my entire life. Cost: $11 after tax, but you can pay an additional $2 if you'd like them to scramble the egg lol

    Are there gluten free items?

You would probably have to put in a special request. They don't sell them as gluten free as far as I'm aware.

Do they offer baby shower cakes? I already have a picture of the design

We got there about 10 am and had a bit of a wait with people continuously arriving so it's clearly popular. You write your name down and request inside or out or first available. It was a bit chilly so we opted for inside. We were seated after about 20 minutes. It's pretty small inside so the addition of the picnic tables outside is a plus. We all ordered different items, sausage and eggs, bacon and eggs and blueberry pancakes. The egg breakfasts came with a side of either toast, a pumpkin muffin or a cinnamon roll. We ordered a muffin and a roll. The food arrived fairly quickly which was good because after a 2 hour drive we were ready to grub. The egg breakfasts were pretty average in taste and portion. The blueberry pancakes however were good a good size and came with 3. I did think the pumpkin muffin was fire and my bf said the cinnamon roll was excellent so maybe it's their baked goods that are part of what makes this place so popular? I didn't think the amount of food we got was that much of a value as it was a $60 breakfast. Other downsides for me was the parking situation which is common in SC. We found a spot about 2 blocks away. Also, the bathroom is outside and in dire need of a makeover. Lastly, they don't take cards. It's cash or check only. WTH? I haven't seen a restaurant take checks since I was a kid so that's been a minute, lol. Overall I can't really see myself returning other than to get the pumpkin muffin or cinnamon roll. Maybe I just need to try something different.

Midlights: - Different menu on the patio which is limited and more casual the the restaurant downstairs with a full meal. That's fine but good to know.
