They serve breakfast too! The plates are huge! Everything has really good flavor, its a small place but really good to come here and get breakfast whether you want eggs, omelette, chilaquiles, or croissants, or bread. They have a good variety of breakfast! The service is great and the staff are friendly.

Such a cute spot! They have a wonderful selection of pastries and baked goods as well as drinks and sandwiches. I got the tomato pesto croissant, almond croissant, chocolate croissant, and the cinnamon roll. Everything was so tasty and the croissants live up to the name! So buttery and flaky!! I'd love to come back and try some of the drinks and sandwiches. Note: One single gender neutral restroom is available

The Buttery is a cute bakery and cafe. Unfortunately, we had just finished a late lunch and decided to get a dessert or something and this place popped up so we decided to check it out. They had a busy day so the selection was sparse. The service was very friendly and thoughtful. She was patient and recommended some of her favorite cupcake flavors. We ended up getting a slice of carrot cake, and a couple of cookies (snowball & peanut butter). The carrot cake was moist, though the icing seemed to be butter cream and not the usual cream cheese frosting. It was still good and I'd get it again. The snowball cookie was good. The PB cookie was firmer than I liked. But it had crunchy peanuts in it and a good flavor. They have indoor seating and a lot of picnic tables outside surrounded by flowers and other plants. Support your local business.

I was introduced to this place by my former manager. Whenever I'm in the area I have to make a pit stop here. Service is quick, there are multiple cashiers. The place can get pretty packed. There is a decent sized dine in area. Don't expect nice decore or instagram-able ambiance, you're there for the food and that's all that matters. If you want to make sure all the flavors are available, I'd suggest going earlier if it's a weekend. The price is average and reasonable. One of THE BEST carrot cake cupcakes! And I honestly could not care less about carrot cake flavor, but this one blew my mind. Oh my gosh my mouth is watering just thinking about it lol. My husband and I tried their tiramisu and some other cupcake options and all are literally SO good. The dangerous part is they're not too sweet (best Asian dessert compliment btw lol). Just the right amount of creaminess, and the flavors are spot on. They're consistent with the quality of their products. I haven't tried their savory foods so I don't have any pointers on that. Bottom line: Will always make a pit stop here!

Friend got them for a baby shower, great spread. Very decadent and yummy. Tasted the red velvet and I'm a fan of the frosting, not super thick and sweet, light and flavorful and the shaved nuts is such a nice crunch.

We stopped by a couple days after Christmas, after a morning of whale watching, so maybe 3:30'ish? The cases were pretty much ravaged and our options were limited. We got a couple of devil's food cupcakes and a variety of cookies from the sparse selection at the end of the day. From our purchase, the pecan sandy was my favorite, the thumbprint my least. Everything else was meh, tasting as though they had been out for a couple of days. My husband enjoyed the cupcake as it wasn't super sweet, but I thought it was just okay. The service was prompt, though at the end of the day, they weren't very busy. staff was helpful and polite. Not sure it's worth a special trip, but if I'm in the area, I'd go back for a second visit, especially if it's earlier in the day and there's more of a selection.

We came back to get a slice of chocolate cake, which one wasn't split up, and they didn't want to split one up.. so we diverted to muffins. These were devoured like Naked & Afraid devouring a lizard, lol.. the chocolate one had berry in the middle. Both got absolutely destroyed. We get all our cakes from here. This place rocks..

Cute location and flower market directly behind the building! Cookie was delicious, but macaron and tart were just okay. Plenty of seating options and friendly staff. Would probably visit again to try something new!

The Buttery's hot food kitchen is abysmal. I've never seen a more low effort, high price menu in my life. When I opened my take out box I started laughing because it was so funny. It's insulting to charge for something like this. Won't be back. Behold - the saddest avocado toast I have ever seen in my entire life. Cost: $11 after tax, but you can pay an additional $2 if you'd like them to scramble the egg lol

    Ham and Cheese Croissant

An absolutely stunning display of fresh, flaky, buttery, fluffy croissants. But when the ham and cheese came out fresh it was most definitely worth waiting for. By far the best croissant I've ever had (granted I don't usually go for croissants but it was fresh so I just had to). Their clam chowder, served as their soup of the day, was also really good. Creamy, well seasoned, had bits of bacon inside, it was clam chowder done right. Most of the servers were really kind, there was one lady though, that when I asked how long till the ham and cheese croissants come out she simply brushed me off and said later today; she didn't even bother to check. Luckily I waited and overheard someone else asking a different cashier, and I got the answer I was looking for, "5 minutes." Overall, besides the service hurdle, food was phenomenal. Great spot to come visit in the morning for some fresh bread.

The Buttery made our wedding cake and it was absolutely incredible! Beautiful, delicious, and not too sweet. We got the carrot cake with cream cheese icing and got so many compliments on how good it was. It has been three weeks since the wedding and we are still getting complements on it. My new husband and I ate the top layer for a whole week after the wedding and never got tired of it.

Red Velvet Cake (candles/rainbow toppers were ours)

We came back and ordered a large Red Velvet cake for a birthday party, and ultimately were unimpressed. The main cake didn't have very much flavor, and the cream cheese frosting was just presenting a ghost of what it was supposed to be. A faint cream cheese taste, but nothing much more. The actual cake wasn't dry or crumbly, just nothing super exciting. Visually, it looked beautiful. Which is just all the more upsetting that it didn't taste as good as it looked.

French toast. Awful. No egg on the surface whatsoever. Worst French toast.
    J W.

French toast was awful. There's no egg whatsoever. No egg on the surface, needless to say no egg soaked into the bread. It was like toast with fruit on top and syrup if used. Pancakes were NOT fluffy at all. Also, customer service sucks. Either they didn't call me when my drink was done or I didn't hear. But if I didn't hear it, were they just going to let it sit there? We were dining in therefore the drink was associated with a number, that same person that brought our food could've brought my drink as well. 2 stars because their pastries are pretty good. We had the apricot cheese danish, tiramisu, and lemon tart.

Hopefully, they now have something gluten-free?

    Are there gluten free items?

You would probably have to put in a special request. They don't sell them as gluten free as far as I'm aware.

Do they offer baby shower cakes? I already have a picture of the design

Yas ! Go there in person and show them your design . I got a cake sampler while I was there . And out of the 4 bakeries I went to they were the most delish.

I love Buttery's cookies! I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter shortly after moving here this summer and the icing was a very plain whipped icing (not sweet or flavorful). However, someone pointed out that I did not specify that I wanted a… Read more

I searched around the area for some popular bakeries and Gayle's came up on top, so off we went to try it out. As expected, the place was very busy when we walked in, we immediately grabbed a number, and waited to be called to place our order at the counter. It'd be a good idea, though, if you had made a good round to browse at all the goodies they have to offer, so you know what you want once your number is called... at least this is what we did. So, we ordered the Pain de Amande (almond croissant... my fave), a Bear Claw (loved these as a teenager), a Raspberry Napolean, and a Fresh Berry Tartelette with pastry cream. OMG! The almond croissant was aaammmaaazzing! I'm going to say this with all confidence, but this was the very best almond croissant of ever eaten! The croissant had a very nice light crisp on the outside, lovely dense layers of pastry inside, and that almond paste was just the best.... it has excellent flavor, just the right sweetness... not overly, and just pulled the whole croissant together to give one amazing yummy bite.... that you won't be able to stop eating! The Raspberry Napolean was excellent too....a bit sweet because of the raspberry jam. Regular Napoleans have flaky layers holding the sweet fillings, but this was more of a butter biscuit layer.... not quite the same, but still oh so yummy! The berry fruit tartelette was also excellent... fresh berries on that delicious pastry cream, inside a perfectly baked pastry shell. Lastly, the Bear Claw.... used to be one of my favorites, but I thought it needed something more most and creamy or moist on the inside, otherwise it tasted just a little bit dry.... still very good, but just needed something more. The one thing all the delicious baked goods we tried had was, they were obviously very freshly baked with the freshest ingredients.... and prepared to perfection. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely pay another visit to Gayle's as their pastries are simply the best you'll ever find anywhere.
