These burritos are an excellent value for your dollar and will never fail to fill you up, and maybe more! The ingredients are all of very high quality and the staff is very friendly. If you're a student this location offers complimentary student drinks which is a very nice perk for us penny pinching academically inclined twenty-somethings. This Chiptole is like any other Chiptole in that it offers the same delicious and fresh ingredients. The only downside is the wait. This Chiptole gets really busy during the dinner rush. Usually I don't complain about the wait but it seems as though the workers are not helping the wait. They are slow are seems unorganized. I recently had a dilemma that the amazing Joaquin at the 32nd and Tennyson Chipotle was able to help me with. I had an unexpectedly large amount of teachers at our school that I had to feed. We were in training and preparing to open our school... we were hot, tired and very hungry. I called his Chipotle location and prayed he didn't turn our large order away. He set us up catering style, I felt bad they would have to roll up 35 burritos and had it ready in 45 minutes. AND it was his lunch rush!!! I was amazed by their service with a smile knowing that it was last minute to set up the order the way I asked for it. The whole lunch crew and Joaquin were amazing and kind. i just realized something is wrong with me. this was once my go to place, and i haven't been there in months! something is wrong. but anyhow, love everything about it. i can't give it five stars only because there have been a couple times where i was disappointed. where the guac was clearly not fresh or they were skimpy on one ingredient or the other. but man, that guac is delicious. love the corn salsa and pico de gallo. delicious tortillas and rice. the meat is always cooked right. mmm. damnit, now i want a chicken fajita. read more

Went here just to visit the first Chipotle. And because we were passing through the area on our cross-country road trip. And because Chipotle is necessary for my survival. Other than it's history, there's nothing special here. It does, however, win the tiniest Chipotle award for sure. But the food and service are still great -- although it wasn't busy when we went. I'm sure that it can get backed up in peak hours with such a tiny work area. Overall a very nostalgic and good experience. read more

This Chipotle location is awesome! If you're a fan of Chipotle you have to check out their first ever location at least once. It's very conveniently located off Evans right by DU. My only gripe about this location is how tiny it is! They can't even fit all of the ingredients and burrito warmers in a straight line like most other Chipotle's. Also, depending on the time of day and community circumstances (i.e. a DU game or graduation), finding a close by parking spot is a chore. But if you don't mind parking a few blocks into a neighborhood and walking this isn't an issue. The place can get crowded because it's so small. Otherwise I love Chipotle and this location is a good one! Lots of good eats around this area. read more

Man, I LOVE chipotle, but this place spent literal MONTHS under renovation, and not only does it still look bland as hell inside (seriously, why are all Chipotle's so industrial and cold and unwelcoming?), but they actually put up a small WALL that covers half of the line on which you're supposed to order, so you have to stand in one place and SHOUT your order down, which is not only annoying, but which MASSIVELY slows down the pace of the line. It is completely illogical, and makes me so mad that even though I like chipotle in general, and I live right down the street from here, I HATE going in. read more

I called in an order for four items. When I arrived they were not ready, all four were not completed as ordered. The place is worn out, not clean and the employees were poorly trained. I really like chipotle food....... I ordered a steak burrito without beans. I told the girl 3 times. It looked to me, while she was making it, like she forgot the steak. She told me it was there. No words can describe the awe that one feels in the presence of this humble structure situated between a marijuana dispensary and an over priced breakfast joint. If I could give 0 stars I would. This store is horrible from the employees, including the manager, to the layout. After being closed several weeks for renovations, going back to this location it is still horrible. There is no menu posted, no area for a line to form, you cannot see the offerings on the line and it is simply cramped and poorly designed. On to the employees. I stopped by for what I was hoping would be a quick bite and was sorely disappointed. The employees were not welcoming, friendly or helpful. The cashier who seemed to be new messed up and rather than promptly getting help from a manager waited nearly 10 minutes futzing around stupidly before finally going to get a manager. It then took at least 5 minutes for her to return with the manager. By this point there was a substantial line besides just me. The manager apologized briefly and insincerely to the customer who the cashier had gotten messed up and ignored the rest of us, many of whom had been waiting 10+ minutes due to the mistake at the register. The manager then disappeared, not helping her obviously overwhelmed at the moment staff, and the slow, mistake ridden process continued. Finally I was able to leave. When I arrived home my quesadilla was undercooked (cheese still cold) and all the fillings were on one side. I will never return to this horrible place read more

The original isn't anything special. You get what you expect. The service is fine. Just kids that would rather be doing anything than working. The food it fine, identical to every other Chipotle on the planet. The atmosphere is fine, again just like every other Chipotle. Anybody who wants real Mexican food just avoids Chipotle Not So Mexican Grill. It is overpriced and the portions are too large (American fat style). The ingredients are combined without any real skill, too. McDonalds was actually a major component in getting this chain off the ground. Go read wikipedia some and see what I am talking about? I was excited to visit the first Chipotle...but I was utterly disappointed. The 2 girls serving food on Saturday nights are the worst Chipotle employees. The customer service was so lacking I was almost embarrassed to think that these 2 girls are the best Chipotle had to offer. When I told one of the girls that I wanted white rice and pinto beans she gave me the dirtiest look and dragged my food back to add beans and rice. Her co-worker and her began to talk about me as if I wasn't 2 feet away. One of them said, "that's why I don't ask them anymore, if they wanted it they should have to ask for themselves". They honestly made it seem like the cost of me adding rice and beans to my food was going to Come out of their paycheck lol after me, another customer was ordering and had difficulty hearing one of the questions they asked, then 1 of the 2 girls working YELLED LOUDLY, "WHITE OR BROWN RICE?!???" my fiancé and I just looked at each other because we couldn't believe the customer service was this bad. Anyway, to sum up my review, this Chipotle is the worst one I've by far ever been to. Don't go inside, it's best to just go to another one. read more

Decided to visit the first chipotle ever. Super exciting right? Well apparently not. The staff was friendly, but a bit rushed, even though we were the only people there? The beans looked a bit different that most stores and definitely the guac as well. It looked more as a dark green that had been frozen overnight. Portions were decent until we got to salsa. The worker was extremely fast and sloppy. Very unimpressed and unsatisfactory from a worker. You can be fast and correct, but that wasn't the case. Overall, the cashier was pleasant and the food was like any other chipotle I've had. However, even though the trip did not feel as special, I can always say I've been to the first chipotle. read more

We live fairly close to this Chipotle, which was the first opened in the US. It's tiny, with limited parking, and usually very busy catering to DU students, but that's not the problem. Our issue is the service. It seems that this Chipotle doesn't value repeat, local customers, demonstrated by inconsistent portions and attitudes of servers. As good as it gets to mexican food wonderful food ingridients are always fresh as if they had just been harvested the meats are cooked to perfection and tasty i like all the items on the menu whether it be a burrito, a bowl, or tacos the food has a taste that clicks like a seat belt and just melts together. Once you come here you'll always end up back its affordable too! thats how great the food is another great thing about the food is it's gluten free and its very healthy to eat compared to other resturants. Being someone who worked at Chipotle for 4 yrs, and managed for 3. This chipotle brought nothing special to the bowl, literally! They're portion sizes were less than 4 oz. The only thing that amazed me was the location, considering this was the first chipotle. Loved the lay out and how small and personal it was. But the 3 Hispanic ladies that were the that morning were nothing but rude! Me and my friend were on vacation and we told the ladies we worked at Chipotle. Then they proceeded to talk about us in Spanish and say how do we work at chipotle if we have our nails done.... we chimed in saying we're on vacation. The cashier lady was suprised we knew what she was saying in spanish. Just because we don't look like it, doesn't mean we don't understand it. I understand Spanish quite fluently. I just thought these ladies lacked the 13 characteristics, especially to be working at the first chipotle. Which is a big deal to some people. If Steve Ellis walked in there that day he would be ashamed of these ladies customer service. Especially considering you never know who could be walking through your doors! read more
