I like and enjoy Chipotle as often as possible. Today I stopped and was really disappointed by the staff. The guy on the press who's name is Sal was great. Actually he is the only one as t the Elk River location today who was actually doing his job. Here is my experience... I arrived and Sal took my order. The restaurant was not real busy but there were six people on the line. There was one large guy wiping things and cleaning as food was being prepared. My burrito was fourth in line as the salsa, sour cream and cheese was being completed for the people ahead of me. As I watch the clean up guy her took covers and wiped them down above the waiting burritos and bowls. He wiped the top of the counter between the food tins and brushed my burrito with the dish rag. The girl finally got around him and asked me what I wanted and I told her medium, sour cream and lots of cheese. She did that and then added lettuce too. Not what I ordered so I said something. She offers to take it off or remake it. I said remake it. After all the large guy had already cleaned off stuck on food over my burrito and touched the dirty used dish cloth to it as well. He'll no I'm not eating that. Remake it. As I am sitting and eating the new customers goes to nothing. On girl who works there goes up and Sal being the only employee on the line prepares her food all the way through. By the time he is adding salsa a few people come in and are waiting in line. Sal continues to make the food for the employee and talks to her for awhile as more customers are filling up the line area and they all are waiting for service. Sal helps the next 5 customers himself. No one else is out on the line. The girl who was cashier has been at th he beverage area since before the other employee went on break. Everyone else is in back somewhere. The was a tall thin guy working the grill. Not one of the employees asked the others to help. They all seemed to be too busy to make the customers a priority. There was a guy with glasses who brought out some clean red food baskets and he walked around asking if the food was okay but he ignored the long line and now two people available to help them buy their food. Actually the second person helping Sal was the cashier so she was just standing there watching him work. Then the manager or assistant manager came out from the back. She looked around and then walked through the seating area and around to the back of the line of customers. I was shocked. By this time I was done eating and really feed up with the staff in this location. Actually this location is closest to my home and I eat here weekly and sometimes more often. I have never seen anything like this in any location ever. Beyond my food tasting good I think this was my worst experience with Chipotle in the almost 10 years of eating here. I would not have guessed this would have happened today. My advice to everyone is to keep the employees on their toes. If we let them get by with this then we will get poor service and food covered in old dried up food that was stuck to something dirty as spice. Haven't really ordered chipotle often, but wow was this a disappointment. I ordered a steak bowl with guac, white rice, mild tomato cheese and lettuce for pick up and go home to find out the bowl was half full. I had someone else pick it up for me, so it wasn't possible to go back to the location. (30 minutes away from where I am) The bowl was predominantly cheese and lettuce, only 5 pieces of steak. Complete rip off! Should have looked up the reviews for this place or I would have never ordered here. read more

So tired of trying to go here, line is crazy long, employees are crazy slow. So I thought I'd be smart, I pre ordered..... Lol I arrived 25 min later to get my food, it wasn't even started. I could tell the guys where totally lost, I waited longer for my bowl than actually waiting in line. They are getting skimpy on the portions, it's rice!!!! Wtf why only 3/4 of a scoop!!!! They give like 1/2 a scoop of steak. The only thing they are generous on is the ice.... They'll probably put a governor on the ice machine next. All in all this chipotle is going down hill fast.... Today I was in Anoka, I went to the coon Rapids location instead of the elk River (where I live) just cuz I know I'll have a better experience there. Also iv arrived to the elk River location several times, and they had either no white rice, no steak or no chicken!!! So I have to order something else.... And they don't even give me a discount!!! I've never gone wrong with Chipotle. Love the food, love the price, love the atmosphere. Never loved ordering especially when I bring my kids as I basically bring the line to a halt. **sorry to all those who have spent time behind me **. Horribly slow service! Stood in line for 35-40 minutes before we could order and there were only 10-15 people in line when we got there. We almost left just because of how terribly long it was taking. Food was decent, had to pick out a huge piece of hard avocado and something that looked like a bay leaf. The past several times I've eaten at Chipotle in Elk River..... The amount is food you get compared to what you use to get is getting out of hand.... The amount of lettuce, rice and meat you get is to the point of not worth going . Plus it takes forever to get through the line. They are extremely SLOW! Chipotle is one of the best fast food places out there. From their chicken tacos to the steak burritos they have really good quality stuff. Out of all the Chipotle's I have frequented, I would have to say this one is almost coming in first. They use a lot of meat and if you ask them to cut back on the rice, they actually do it. The Fresh Tomato Salsa is made fresh daily and it is AMAZING. I wish they would market this stuff. I would pay good money to be able to buy a jar of their salsa. I eat at this place at least once a month, most of the time more than that. For fast food, this is my go to place. Everything is priced fairly reasonable and me and my husband can eat there for about 23 dollars (including extra salsa and guac and chips for the both of us). My only bone of contention with them is that they do not really cater to the younger crowd. If I take my one and a half year old son here, I am not able to order him anything because its a waste of money to order him adult portions when he can only eat a fourth of what I do. If they went the extra step and added kid menus to their repertoire then they would be rated 5 stars. It sucks eating out and having to brown bag something for your son. read more

I get food here probably 3 times a month and love it! I order online to avoid the typically long lines, and my order has always been correct and ready right when I get there. The staff has always been friendly. One time I got there 20 minutes late (I ordered ahead online) and they remade my order so it would be fresh. read more

Our food was so terrible that I actually signed up for a stupid yelp acct so I could rate it. The guacamole looked like vomit and looked like it had been out for two days, hardly got any lettuce in my salad, our chips were stale with only half a portion in the bag and the steak hardly seemed cooked. I love Chipotle and frequent the Maple Grove and Plymouth locations. The service was atrocious. The girl making our food was sick, sniffling, and wiping it on her hand and then touching our food. I live close to this location, and have given it multiple chances before writing a review. Last visit sealed the coffin. Stood in line for 40 min! There were 10+ people working, only TWO were making orders. The cashier stood there and watched orders get backed up, and then before she would ring an order up, she would go and wipe down the entire prep table! Rude service, and to top it off, got home and took one bite of my burrito, and it felt like I took a giant swig of ocean water! The amount of salt was unbearable. And I only got rice, meat, lettuce, and cheese on it. Horrible all the way around. Management needs to look at the reviews once in awhile. This is the worst rated chipotle out there. read more

Went to this Chipotle yesterday. I love Chipotle, but I cannot stand waiting in line, and at this Chipotle, the lines are always darn near out the door. I decided to order online, so I could go right in and pick it up without having to wait. I ordered at 4:20, with a pick up time of 5:00 (Plenty of time). When I got there, about 4:57, amazingly there were maybe only two or three people in line, which I have never seen when going to this location, normally the line is LONG. I was told my order was not ready yet, and that it would be just a minute. 12 minutes later they finally started making the order. I finally got the order around 5:20. The only thing that was said, was "Sorry about that." In my opinion this is unacceptable. They had PLENTY of time to have the order ready at 5:00, as when I got there, there were only 3 people in line. The fact that they hadn't even started making it was really disappointing! The whole reason that people are placing orders online is because they do not want to wait. I would have been better off not placing the order on their website and just standing in line, I would have gotten out of there sooner! Not impressed at all. read more
