I was pleasantly surprised with how good this regional taco joint was. The Yelp reviews did not disappoint. I got soft two chicken tacos and enjoyed it very much. They weren't stingy with the chicken like Taco Bell and they dressed it fully also unlike Taco Bell. The cashier was soooo nice and friendly that she almost made me go back through the drive thru to order some more but I was running late for an appointment. I didn't get a chance to revisit but if they ever make it to New Orleans and setup shop, I'd be a loyal customer. read more

As my kids would say, the food was "mid". The service was below "mid" , it was like going to eat at your ex's restaurant and them serving you with as much enthusiasm as one could muster given you have moved on to a new love. I do not know why this Taco John's gets such a bad reputation to be honest. I have been here about 6 times and I have had great service and pretty good food. The food is set at a fast food level scale but the food has been good enough for me to keep on going. Experience: To start this is strictly a drive thru only review since I have never been inside the restaurant before. Upon arriving to the parking of Taco John's you have to drive around the back of the building to reach the drive though section. Once there you come up to the voice box and the menu. The menu is easy to read, follow, and has plenty of pictures to show you what they have to offer. Every time I have been here once I pull up to order there has always been someone there and they have always greeted me friendly. After ordering you drive to the pick up window to pay and receive your purchase. I have again had no negative experiences with the people working here. They have always said hello, been friendly, handled my money and food with care. After you receive your food you can no enjoy it where ever you like! (And hopefully you do) Food: I have only ordered a few things off of this menu but they have always came hot and crispy for me. Let me say that the food inst the best thing in the world. Like it's still fast Taco food after all. The difference is that it has ways been fresh for me. It's not like when you go to a place and order fries and then the fries are limp, cold, and soggy. The food at this Taco John's has always felt made to order and came exactly how I imagined and hoped it would. Overall: I have been here a handful of times but I have had nothing but good experiences. The staff has been friendly, the food has been fresh, and the overall experience has been delightful. I love Taco John's! It is what it is. Gringo "West-Mex" fast food. By far my favorite original item is the Taco Bravo! It's a flour tortilla with refried beans spread on it and then you tuck a regular hard shell taco in that blanket of goodness. It's pure genius, the best of both worlds! When someone asks you hard or soft shell you answer, YES! My second favorite original item is the Apple Grande. A flat fried soft shell with cinnamon sugar and topped with apple pie filling. I think they sprinkled shredded cheddar cheese, but that always sounded gross to me. My favorite new item is those Oles! Circle tots with seasoned salt oh yeah! Dip em in nacho cheese sauce, sour cream, or guac! So good! I like their new street tacos too. Gringo-fied meat, lettuce, tomatoes, seasoning, and traditional cotija cheese. Not spicy just decent flavors. Sometimes I'd like it in a soft corn tortilla, but still tasty for a fast food chain. read more

Just moved to Minnesota (maple Grove) and needed something fast to eat in the evening while unpacking. Picked up a combo which was fine, but also ordered a burrito that was around $5 that was smaller than a 99¢ burrito from its competition. Pathetically overpriced. It says Curbside Pickup on the mobile app and a sign in parking lot. After waiting 12 minutes and no food I went and talked to a lead person who said they can't see that parking spot and don't use it unless you go to the drive through and they direct you there. I am always impressed by the service I received at this Taco John's. The drive-through always asks me how I'm doing and makes sure I have everything I need before driving off. One time I felt so welcomed that as I pulled away, I called their manager to thank the team. Will always think of that TJ's when I think of good customer service. read more

What more does one expect out of a TJ drive-through?! I've been here quite a few times and they've never goofed one of my orders. Yeah, that seems like wearing the minimum pieces of flair, but the success rate at most places in town is far inferior. As far as the food, it's consistently good. I've bounced around the menu a bit trying new things here and there and I've never felt like they've been cutting corners and I feel like the quality is befitting of the price. The 6-pack of tacos and pound of potato oles is still one of the best bang for the buck deals in fast food. I also really like their meat and potato burritos. Went in 2x this week. The evening staff was very rude . I felt like I was bothering them. The girl working was rude telling us it was almost closing time and we could not get beef and only chicken. We settled for the chicken and the food was not even warmed up. Not to mention , when my burrito was made , it was not brought to the counter , it was tossed to the counter by the girl working . I've been a TJs lover since the early 80s and have been to many different locations around the Midwest. Like most fast food places quality can vary from place to place. This Maple Grove location is solid. I've ordered delivery a few times in the past year and the food is prepared well. These days I prefer it to Chipotle and most other Mexican restaurants... about tied with Zantigo. Old school Mexican that hasn't gone completely off the rails like Taco Bell. read more

This is actually the friendliest Taco John's I've ever been to. In fact, this may be the friendliest fast food restaurant I've ever been to, period. I have only been there three times now but I have seen the same staff on all three occasions and one team member in particular stands out. He remembered me on the second visit! I mentioned that I was thinking about getting the Mexican donuts but decided against them and by the next visit, he had remembered and commented/joked that I came back for them. I was highly impressed with the service and the food. I ate in store twice and went through the drive-through once. The Maple Grove Taco John's has been far less than impressive so far. The staff is really not interested in the customer and it shows in the food. I have been there 5 times and have gotten w the wrong item in my bag 3 times. I am still a TJ's fan but really hope they can fix this one before they lose all their business. I just went there tonight and there was 4 people working, 3 guys and a girl. The girl was working the drive thru while 2 guys the back and one was supposed to be doing the register, the guy working the register clearly didn't care to help us even after the girl asked him if he was going to help us and he just laughed, so if it would've been a busy drive thru then this girl had her work cut out for her. In my opinion she was the only one who cared about the customer and/or their job. Even tho the food is always good, the service just sucked and they had one person do everything while everyone else messed around. read more
