This is a review for takeout. I never do reviews for chains --well, until now. First, I am concerned about the many complaints re cleanliness. I have generally been there around dinner time and it is packed so I am not surprised when floors have not been cleaned or tables cleared. the manager is charge needs to know how to best utilize staff to address that issue. Outside of that, however, I have always had a good experience at this location. I say that in contrast to the one on 12th that consistently makes mistakes on my order, omits an ingredient or skimps on the meat. That location on Pittsburgh is not nearly as good as the one on Peahc IMHO. So if you have a choice, I would choose this one and the order is generally prepared fresh. This is my go to location when I have a hankering for Chipotle. One thing I would note for Chipotle management--stop using those DAMN HEAVY doors. If that wind is blowing and it is cold, opening that door is herculean to crack followed by a huge swing from the blast of wind. I really do not understand this "feature" as it really just makes it impossible to carry food out and try to push open the door without risking a spill. Not that it matters but as a low sodium guy, a few things to note: 1) the tortillas add lots of salt. Get a bowl. 2) The salsas are very salty so if you are like me, use your own home salsa. Sadly the corn (my favorite) is particularly egregious. 3) in lieu of whip cream, try using a dollop of greek yogurt. Nearly identical in my opinion and greek yogurt adds protein. 4) I know people love their chips and queso but honestly that is like your daily intake of sodium in one snack. Hard to give any stars when you walk in 40 minutes before closing and don't get served while everyone stares at you from behind the counter. Very disappointed as I was traveling from out of town and wanted to grab some Chipotle before hitting the road. Not only will I not come back to this location, but Chipotle will not be an option for me in the future. read more

Extremely dirty, employees talking and standing around. Tables dirty, floors dirty. And I mean food on tables and floors. Windows look like a mud storm went through the inside. Prep area where they scoop your sauces/salsa/meats/rice is so gross. Food spilled all over in between the bins. Really makes you feel safe eating the food. Employees were nice but cleanliness is enough to make me not come back and recommend others to not go. Let alone food safety!?!? read more

Nothing was stocked. There were not any napkins or forks available. Nobody could be bothered to replace the roll of toilet paper. The employees were miserable and made you feel like you were bothering them. Hairnets were not being worn and gloves apparently were optional. The serving station was a sloppy mess. The employees were dressed in sweatpants or leggings, no pride in appearance. The garbage was overflowing. They were our of beef barbacoa and instead of refilling it they just spooned the liquid and grease onto the rice. For being my first time at this establishment I am unaware if this is how things are usually done. I have no desire to return, ever. read more

Driving home out of Erie and went 10 minutes out of my way to get chipotle for dinner. I was more than disappointed by the service as I stood next to the counter for several minutes and was never acknowledged by the employees who were standing around and talking the entire time. I was never served and ended up leaving hungry. read more

Me: Looks like we have to make a trip to Erie on Tuesday [to take care of XYZ errands]... My wife: Did I just hear that I'm getting Chipotle for lunch on Tuesday? There are no locations close to where we live, so we only ever eat Chipotle when we have to run errands in Erie or Buffalo--and when we go to Buffalo, we usually choose somewhere else. So in our minds, trips to Erie have become near-synonymous with Chipotle. I'm surprised to see so many complaints in other reviews... Some visits are better than others, but most of our experiences at this location have been positive. If you don't like dealing with employees face-to-face, do yourself a favor and order online ahead of time. Then you just walk in, grab your stuff, and leave! Stopped here en route to Buffalo for a couple of ball games at the JUCO level. There are plenty of options around the area but between Five Guys and this - I went with the latter. Located in a stand alone building which, I don't know have I see before? Just looked really plain to me. And upon entry, it was somewhat disheartening to see that several workers were embracing a friend while the line backed up. For several minutes. I mean no one was keying in on us standing there. Stepped up and order a bowl, white, none but peppers and onions, chicken, mild, corn and sour cream, can I get a little more- thank you, lettuce cheese and added guacamole. Looked standard and added a drink. As I ate I noticed that something within the bowl was horribly OVER seasoned. And I mean WAY over-seasoned. Then I realized it was the peppers and onions- to the point of needing a refill. WAY TOO MUCH SALT. Wow. I played through the pain (I'm fat what you think i was going to toss it???) and polished it and say my goodbyes. read more

This was the dirtiest Chipotle that I have ever set foot inside. Trash and food on the floors. No visibly clean tables. Asked the cashier to was a table off. Young employee prepping food was irritated when I kindly asked could he please change his gloves because he had just prepared an order with dairy. I stated that I am very allergic to dairy. He did comply but acted put out. When we got to the end of the line I asked if he could get me fresh guacamole because I could see cheese in it. He looked up at me like he wanted to cuss. The young man ringing at the register told he he could grab a container from the back. He tried to use the spoon from the guacamole that was cross contaminated and I ask could he please grab a fresh spoon. He the the spoon in the container and moved to the next customer! I wasn't rude once and said please and thank.you several times. I ever said I'm sorry because he clearly thought he was being put out! VERY VERY DIRTY, have never been to a Chipotle that has looked this bad. Dinner hour is now and nothing has been cleaned from lunch crowd.

Food was good but the sorry ass lady behind the counter with purple/grey hair was not good. My friend asked for steak on burrito to which she replied in a vicious tone over the counter "ITS GOING TO BE 8 MINUTES BOY." We then sat down for supper but we kept getting inconspicuous glances from the woman described in the previous text. The rest of the staff was great tho. read more

Why don't I ever learn??? Went to this peach street chipotle. It has been a while since I visited this one. We walked into the door and there's a big puddle in front of the door next to the trashcan. Walk up to the counter to order. The counter is so dirty we almost walked out. But it was late and we were starving. The queso bin had a thick layer of dried up stuff on it and they had just refilled it. It was so disgusting. The countertop they were preparing food on was also equally disgusting. Various scraps of food and sauces, spilled all over the place. Many of the dining tables had food and sticky things on them. You could hear the employees hollering at each other and goofing off in the back from the dining room. Clearly, there was no manager on duty. There was no one paying attention to what was happening in the store. The food was standard chipotle. It was very dirty. We really should've just turned around and walked out. read more

For the price you pay do not expect the quality to match. Spent almost 14 bucks on tacos... that came all mashed together in the same foil, with all the filling spilling out both sides. No napkins in the bag, no plastic wear for the sides of rice and beans, no apologetic attitude about the quality of the food. Got a refund for the tacos at least... save your money and go to the Taco Bell near by. Also, the worker recommended next time I come in and order it... why? Because the quality of an online order is subpar? Save your money read more

Fast and delicious as always. Such simple food, but with a ton of flavor. Driving through Erie, this place was packed around lunchtime, but the line went very fast. Completely garbage. They want paid more but can't even make a order right when it's told to them or reading it off of a screen from a mobile order. Asides from one sour puss swuidward attitude server, we found the rest of the staff to be very nice, service to be pretty quick and the food in true chipotle fashion to be delicious and super flavorful. I'd recommend coming here, if in town. You can never go wrong with chipotle! read more

I finally talked my fiance into trying this restaurant about a month ago. His first visit was such as a workers dreads hanging in all of the food at the prep table. They push you through the line so fast that you are practically breathing down the neck of the person in front of you when we are supposed to be encouraging social distancing. The worker didn't give my fiance anytime to see what was available to make choices she practically scolded him like he was two. It's obvious to say that the health dept needs to look into this place and the manager that lets dreads hang. read more

I am a frequent customer of this chipotle (2-3 times a week). I used to love going here to eat. Now I despise even walking in there. The last several times I've been here I've watched the worker scoop up dirty scraps with there gloves and continue to make my food and other paying customers. Another instance twice now, I've witness the one older lady dripping sweat all over the food and counter. The rationing of the meat is almost disrespectful as she scooped out pieces almost like she was counting in her head. Before I was run out of Mexico due to a Tequila incident, I had the opportunity to sample most of the local flavor of southern Mexico. One of my favorite Latino dishes is Carnitas and Tacos al Pastor. Now located in NE Ohio, I have been hankerin for authentic Mexican food. I wouldn't say that Chipotle is the very best of Mexican flair, but its pretty darn good. We were in Erie Pa. looking for something to eat, driving aimlessly. Roma suggested that we stop in to Chipotle and check it out. We were not disappointed. One thing I like right off was the menu and the style that it is served. Simple menu, cafeteria style line up, and easy to understand. Tacos, burritos, or non-tortilla bowls, it does not get any easier. The meat is cooked fresh right behind the line, the topping are right in front of you, and the salsas, pico de gallo, and tomatillo were fresh and flavorful. We ordered the chicken bowl with white rice, queso, chili-corn salsa, guacamole, and black beans. The burrito with carnitas and chicken, pinto beans, white rice, guacamole, fajita veggies, and mild pico. Side of chips with mild and medium salsa, and guacamole. The salad was delicious; crisp veggies, fresh cooked chicken, plenty of flavor, and not too salty. The burrito was wrapped in a thin grilled tortilla, with plenty of toppings, pretty decent carnitas and chicken, home-style pintos, and very tasty roasted peppers & onions. However, I was not a fan of the white rice. The rice has a strong taste of artificial or bottled citrus, almost bitter. Roma had the brown rice which I think had a much better flavor. We orders a side of chips and salsa; the chips came in a paper bag, which is ok but for the price, I think they could have offered a little more. The pico was fresh chopped but could have used a little more cilantro and salt; the medium salsa was more like a very mild salsa, and the guacamole didn't really have much avocado flavor. The staff was mostly younger college kids, but they were fun and vigorous, pleasant and polite, and worked efficiently and organized. However, they should probably have a designated person for cleaning detail. They didn't really seemed short staffed, but no one was out cleaning the dining room or bathrooms. Like I said in the beginning, this is no authentic taqueria, buts its good Mexican flair at moderate prices. We will definitely be returning. read more

Ordered a double steak burrito online, got 7 tiny cubes of steak in a burrito that was smaller than my fist. My wife got a regular chicken burrito and it had less than a teaspoon of chicken. I payed 23 dollars for food that couldn't satisfy a bird ended up getting food from another place. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE HERE. I can't believe a main stream restaurant can operate so poorly. This is your ONLY purveyor of edible Mexican food in Erie, PA. This is your ONLY purveyor of responsibly sourced, prepared food in Erie, PA. Compared to the other dives in Erie serving garbage and passing it off as Mexican, Chipotle should be a Mecca ... Sadly, I am not sure Erie is ready for Chipotle. Rust Belt denizens unfortunately haven't really caught on to the idea of caring about where your food came from ... Chipotle does a phenomenal job of sourcing their food. You cannot find better ingredients at a chain restaurant (and NO, Chipotle is not owned by McDonald's - google it), period. This is gourmet food for fast food prices. I am sure follow-on reviews will lament having to actually pay separately for the (made fresh daily) chips, guac, and salsa. Someone will no doubt complain that they don't slop liquid gooey faux cheese all over your meal, or that they don't offer ground beef. Someone else will complain that $6.85 is spendy for a burrito. If you're among those complaining, stick to the flavored sawdust from Taco Bell ... there is no help for you. read more

Like the other reviews....if you've been to one Chipotle....you've been to them all. I frequently eat it in San Diego and in Orange County. I didn't find anything to be different in Erie. So to that I say, thank you Erie, for having the sense to bring a decent choice of Mexican food to your hood! As far as the service goes...I had a great experience. (I mean its a cafeteria really). These are not servers that are bringing food to you and are expected to add to your dining ambiance! The girl who helped me was actually very nice! She is the only reason why I WOULD come on here and right a review about a Chipotle....in freaking Erie. I left the place immediately thinking about how I was going to get on my computer and talk about the nice service and upbeat personality of my salad maker. There's just something that's always off about this Chipotle. I will say that the food is always fresh and good, but service is really hit or miss. They have often gotten my order wrong because it has been so busy and they aren't paying attention. They rush you through your order and then usually don't listen. For example, during my last visit, they forgot my chicken in my burrito bowl! I ended up just getting a bowl of beans and salsa. It was so busy and the workers were so wrapped up in moving the line along that I couldn't even try to correct it. Secondly, in the last month that I've been going to this location, they have been out of chips, guacamole (bad shipment, not entirely their fault but they were out for 2 weeks), and sour cream. What? I also never get rice in my burrito bowl. I always ask for double beans and they give me the tiniest amount ever. I always have to ask them to put more in because I didn't get rice. It usually ends up being a pretty anemic bowl. I will likely keep coming back because I really enjoy the taste of the food, but I hope they fix some of their service issues! read more

Chipotle Mexican Grill is the best fast food Mexican you can get in Erie. I don't consider Taco Bell to be Mexican since its a spin off of pizzahut corp. The food is made fresh not frozen and you know what you are getting. I think that's most important, the idea of you know what you are getting. If you don't then it could be dangerous. Eating out is adventurous but knowing what you get and what to expect are paramount. read more

By far the worst chipotle I've ever been too. The online order thing does nothing but pack the store up and takes forever to get your food. I have been waiting over 45 minutes for my food and can't just leave because the online order makes you pay on the app. Also cash was not accepted which made it more difficult. I would avoid going to this chipotle as much as possible. read more

The food is good, but the cleanliness has a lot to be desired. The restaurant was filthy. Every table was dirty and there was trash all over the floor. The beverage area was a mess and the bathroom was disgusting. There was no excuse for this condition as there were very few patrons in the restaurant. The customers that were there were actually cleaning their own tables. They really need to clean up their act. read more

I eat chipotle about three times a week and this chipotle was very disappointing. The portion size was very small and the chips were stale. The food was pretty tasteless honestly, I don't know if I came on the wrong day but I was pretty disappointed. Step it up peach street. read more
