I am typically a great fan of Cracker Barrel and have eaten frequently at the Erie PA restaurant. The visits have decreased in the past year as some of my favorite menu selections have been removed and portions have decreased significantly. My visit on Saturday, August 9th was the final straw. I bit into a corn muffin and found a piece of glass about the size of a fifty-cent piece. I showed my waitress who took it and said "I need to show this to the manager right away." A few minutes later, she came back out and said "Dinner and dessert is on us tonight." Never once did anyone offer an apology on this egregious failure nor did the manager ever visit my table to acknowledge the problem. While the free meal was nice, attention to the issue is a customer service standard which dramatically failed that night. read more

The Erie, PA location double charged me 3 months ago. Since then I have talked with the store's manager and emailed them about this at least a half dozen times. I have sent them a full-detail e-mail, only to have them respond: "What date was this?" (date was included in email) or: "What store was this?" (store location was included in email). They never follow up once I answer their dumb question email. The store manager says only Corporate can issue a refund, and Corporate only has human customer support hours M-F 9-5 when I (and most people) are at work. I want my $14.83 back. And, should you choose to vist Cracker Barrel, by all that is holy do NOT use your credit/debit card. If a mistake is made, they will keep the money and ignore your attempts to get it back. read more

We are at Cracker Barrel this morning for the first time in what felt like decades. We were super thrilled at first when they set us up at a very family friendly table and the staff were very welcoming. Our server seemed like she was a new worker, but she did largely okay. I ordered a breakfast sandwich special: eggs, toasted sourdough, lettuce, and mayo (hold the tomato) and a side of fresh fruit. What I received was an open face serving of lukewarm sourdough with an entire omelet on one side and just a mountain of mayonnaise on the second and no side order. It looked like the left over servings of someone's scraps. Taste wise, it was okay but very plain. The salt and pepper I added seemed like the only seasoning on the plate. I did eventually get my fruit and everyone else's orders seems okay, however, I was less than impressed with my order. It seemed to remind me why I've gone so long without returning. read more

Ok let's start off with how this one Cracker Barrel turned all other Cracker Barrels into a horrible name. Food tasted bland and dryer then my great grandma's house. Service was actually good and Julia was the best. We waited 25 mins for food and the floor was dirtier then my mind. Ambiance was pretty cheerful and nice. read more

I'm not sure where to start with this review...but I will say, if you'd like a decent meal and not feel as though you've wasted $40 for two people on food that is was inedible then don't come to this Cracker Barrel. The one star is for the gift shop that has some unique and reasonable gifts, the food and service was less than a 1-Star (I feel bad for saying it but it was just bad). I ordered the Roast Beef dinner and I'm not sure it was even beef....cold and tasted old. My partner had the grandpa's breakfast meal or something close to that name and 1/2 of his order didn't come to our table until we were mostly done. I ordered a peach tea and didn't realize it came in a soapy glass to boot... So disappointed because we usually enjoy Cracker Barrel. read more

Totally disappointed and offended by the treatment my family and I have received today. After they took our order we kept waiting while seeing everyone around us including those who have been seated after we were seated, get served and leave. When we checked with the waitress she claimed that there is a party of 15 that needed to be served before us and that they haven't started cooking our food, which didn't seem to be the case for the rest of the tables. We would have appreciated a courtesy notice that our meal would be delayed and we would not have a problem with that. But we feel terribly offended because it felt that it was intentional to ignore us and not communicate with us. I came into the restaurant Monday, August 7 and placed an order for the Breakfast Family meal for $42 and was told it would be ready in about 15 minutes. I waited at least 30 minutes before going back to the register and was told it was ready and then given the total. I responded and said the order had to be wrong because it should have been at least $42 not $23. The server that took the order was called to the cashier area and she determined that she did not understand and had put in the wrong order. The order was corrected and I wait another 30 minutes before checking and was informed that it was not ready and the shift manager go smart after I said it was ridiculous that it was taking so long. She told me it had only been 20 minutes because the order time was listed and I asked for the manager's name and she told me he didn't have time to come and talk to me. I informed her I needed his name and contact information to write a complaint and she then gave me his name only and I had to ask for a phone number. I haven't attempted to contact him yet but I will. The service was not good! This review is looking pretty epic! Nice! read more

Visiting Erie today, so first we had brunch here. Quick service, including a tip from the waitress to save us $5, by ordering blueberry pancakes, with eggs & bacon as one order and biscuits on the side, then splitting the order so I got eggs & bacon and hubby got the pancakes. Can't beat a meal you love plus saving the cost too! On the way out I found a new Dolly Pardon CD and a pretty pink shirt I can wear for Valentines Day. This is a typical Cracker Barrel, you can get a decent priced meal here that will probably be pretty good. I am not a big fan of chains usually but when you have a group of people who are picky eaters, this is usually where we go. I like the grilled chicken tenderloins. Out of all the Cracker Barrels I've been to this is the one location we've been to most. That is because it's on the way to Pittsburgh and I usually time both filling up and eating breakfast in Erie and Peach street has both. The portion sizes for are large if you get a regular breakfast menu item say like Uncle Herschel or Grandpa's country fried. You get a lot of sides and choice of potatoes, apple, grits, choice of bread etc. It's a lot of food and it's heavy. I usually ask for my sausage gravy on the side so it doesn't make my country fried steak soggy and so I can also control it. I don't like too much gravy or drowning my biscuits in it to the point it's goop. The ham (any way) here is good, bone in etc. This is comfort food and since I primarily come here for breakfast their after breakfast menu is just as good and has more options. While Cracker Barrel is a big chain I still like the consistency and sit down rest by the fireplace atmosphere if I feel like have a slow, sit down meal as opposed to a quick McMuffin type get out of Dodge type of breakfast. My favorite dish here is the country fried steak whether with veggies and mashed for after breakfast or the breakfast with eggs, biscuits and grits. read more

I usually love coming here to eat and shop in the store. The food is delicious, however, my daughter and I pulled up to the Peach Street in Erie PA location and what do I see? Every single rocking chair outside full and more people walking up to the door! Instead of walking inside, I call the restaurant to inquire about wait times. The girl answers rudely tells me more than 30 minutes and nicely I tell the girl I can see every rocking chair full of people and more people walking up and what they're doing about that and if it's still 30 minutes because I've arrived and I can wait. The girl rudely told me that was the wait time and hung up. I felt bad because it seems like they just don't have enough people or the restaurant needs new management. If you are hungry...go find a restaurant that hires enough wait staff and keeps their tables open! My father and I have stopped by here several times only to be told the wait will exceed half an hour to an hour....despite a nearly empty restaurant. They close off entire sections and expect guests to wait for ridiculous periods of time. I'm done with trying....we have tried tooooo many times. read more

I ordered on line which was a bit difficult. What made it worse, when I walked over to get my meal they said they were out of the one higher cost side and suggested another which was fine, but they didn't know how to adjust the charge. Then I asked if there was knife and fork, the cashier went to get them but the manager said he put them in the bag. So after I walked back to my room at the Hilton, guess what, no utensils. By the time I went down to the lobby and got some from the Hilton the food was cold. And no rolls were included as they should have been. Some people seem to love, love, love Cracker Barrel. This is the first time I have been to one and I just don't get it. The store is cute and the service is phenomenal, hence the additional star. But the food is just. not. good. Their 'famous' chicken pot pie consisted of thin, small, dry chicken meat overwhelmed in a watery cream sauce and a lackluster crust, served unappetizing with dry cornbread. My colleagues had other dishes such as the salads, and they looked completely unremarkable. Do people love it because of the price point? This unfortunately was not an impressive experience. So went to this cracker barrel yet again with my family for my parents anniversary got seated right away no issues had a decent server great. The problem started about an hour after eating I got horrible stomach cramps and just felt sick to my stomach and then felt nauseous. That's when the issues really began to get big I began throwing up and being so sick I missed a day at work, I got food poisoning from undercooked chicken. and it's a known problem with the Sunday special I don't believe I'll be going back there anytime soon read more
