If I could give this place 0 stars I would, their lack of customer service and communication is appalling for a National chain. We came in at 8:25pm on a Friday and they were already closed stating they were "out of food". They seem to revel in the safety that they're the only chipotle within an hour of here so people have nothing better to compare to. When we were able to get food another time their portions were small for what I expect from chipotle and the steak clearly either old or over cooked. This chipotle is the worst chipotle I've ever been to. You will constantly be let down by the "online orders only" signs they seem to keep up on the doors forever. Even when it seems like there are dozens of workers present the restaurant is still online orders only and they turn away any incoming customers. This wouldn't be such a big issue if it weren't for the terrible portioning of the online orders. When ordering online you get about a quarter of the amount of food you would if you were to order in person. Filthy . I went here tonight and when restocking food , they put the large metal vats onto my burrito.. on my actual food ! Who knows where those containers have been. The food line is completely dirty with food EVERYWHERE. The steak in my burrito was ICE COLD.. pretty sure that's a health violation. If I could rate this chipotle A giant ZERO star I would. The store is always understaffed and when they are staffed the staff is incompetent. If you plan on waiting 45 mins to get some average tasting food with possible hairs in it then this is the place for you. I also have never seen a food establishment so unorganized and dirty as this one. They barely wipe down the counters and are constantly cross contaminating food when making orders. Found plastic in my food. Not very servsafe of them. When I was there the line workers were clearly new. Nothing against that, but it was a too new to be alone without more experienced supervision. I made a mobile order at this Chipotle, two days ago. It said it would be ready at 11:50, but I wound up waiting until almost 12:15, until I finally got it. I work at a place where I need to get back as close to noon as possible, in case I'm needed for something. I discovered upon arriving at my workplace that they gave me the wrong order. I ordered a burrito bowl, and got a quesadilla instead. I didn't have time to run back, so I ate what I got. Not bad, but also not what I ordered, or paid for. I called the local phone number afterward, but got a robocall setup that wouldn't let me elaborate on my problem. I logged a complaint through the app, but my getting the wrong order wasn't an option on the premade list of problems to choose from. I got a coupon, but I just wanted to tell someone, anyone, that I got the wrong order. I love the food at this Chipotle, but you guys really need to improve on communication with customers, and you really need to work on getting online orders correct. I made the mistake of not checking my bag, I'll admit, but this is the only restaurant in town (now that Moe's is closed) that has ever screwed up an online order I've placed. I ordered my meal via the app at 6:38 pm. The app mentioned my meal would be ready in 10 minutes. I didn't get my meal until 2 hours later and this is not an exaggeration. The line runs out the door, there are not enough staff to handle the amount of people. The staff as a result are overworked and disgruntled. Even after going home and coming back to get my meal, there was no one at the register, my meal was cold, there was barely any chicken in my chicken dish, and they forgot my drink. In reading reviews, these problems are not new and seem to be ongoing. Outside of a bot arranging for some feedback, it is clear Chipotle does not wish to change any of its serious problems. If it did, it would hire more staff, have more than one register working, making sure staff are supported and well trained. The person manning the front register was so resigned and rude but I could tell it was due to ongoing frustrations with the company and management. They also need to open another location if they are to handle the amount of people. It's just a hot mess. I would never order on the app again and it's the worst run fast food chain I have ever been to. If Chipotle wants to get feedback, visit the site and see for yourself on a Friday or Saturday night. I've been to a lot of Chipotle locations in the past decade or so, and they've all been great and relatively similar experiences. This one is an exception, and I'm finished giving them second chances. I'm not sure what's going on here, I'm thinking probably bad management, but it's been a terrible experience every time. The food here is fine. The trick is actually getting the food and in a reasonable amount of time. Several times they have been out of chicken, holding up the already long slow moving line for 30 or 40 minutes. The last time we went here, they had a full grill of chicken. It finished cooking, they took it in the back, and then it took another 20 minutes for the cut chicken to come out. I have no idea what they were doing back in there between the time the chicken was finished cooking and the time it came out. There was a literal crowd of people by the register waiting for mobile orders as well. I assume they all wanted chicken. Today we gave it another shot and ran into a similar situation. They actually had the cooked chicken ready to go. I could see it in the container, but for some reason the worker decided to put more raw meat down on the grill instead of cutting the chicken to get the line moving again. The line was held up and almost out the door at this point, and the worker looked like he had no intention of cutting that chicken any time soon. I remembered the last time and just decided to leave after already waiting literally 40 minutes. Chipotle is good but not worth waiting this long for. Both tonight and the last time we went, they were out of white rice as well. In addition to the long wait time, this particular location is very unclean. The garbage cans were overflowing so much that people started putting their trash in the tray return area on top of the trash cans. There was food all over most of the tables. It seems like it would be a trivial thing for a worker to take 10 minutes to clear the trash and wipe the tables. I think one of the issues here is bad time management, and I'm not sure if that's coming from the manager or just the individual workers. They seem to 100% prioritize mobile orders so that the people who actually come into the store have to wait forever to get their food. It is my opinion that if someone has the convenience of not waiting in line for their food, there should be the trade-off of waiting longer. If someone puts forth the effort of actually driving to a location and waiting in line, they should be prioritized. Skip this Chipotle and just go to Moe's or Viva or literally anywhere else within a 10 mile radius. read more

We've loved chipotle so we keep going back, cautiously, but haven't had our orders correctly once. We always order on the app and sometimes the wait is over 1.5 hours long until the food is ready. If it's past 5pm, you won't get any chips because they run out every time, every day. Multiple times I haven't even gotten my food and I was told to just complain online, which often just results in free chips and guacamole, which I can't get anyway because they don't usually have chips. I know the workers are overworked and there are shortages, it's just always way too chaotic here, with worsening quality of food. Super bummed :/ read more

Went to this Chipotle around 9:50 PM on Saturday . The girl who served me gave me an attitude and little meat with the food. Meanwhile, one of the workers there filled about three times meat servings for a bowl for himself to take home. It was a really odd experience. I love chipotle, but this is the only location I've been to that is severely understaffed (or so they told me) and therefore doesn't have simple things like vinaigrette ready for the normal lunch hour. This absolute s---hole of a Chipotle is a blight on Ithaca. It is filthy, with indifferent staff and management. The only way you can eat in-store is if you accept the filth or wet some napkins at the drink bar and wipe off a table to make a clean spot for yourself. They constantly run out of ingredients (like white rice and ice!) It is also impossible to predict when they will be open to walk-in customers. They frequently post a "online only" sign on the door because they are overwhelmed with online orders. But having driven Uber Eats, I know their service for online customers also is horrific. Drivers avoid this Chipotle like the plague because there is no telling how long you will have to wait to get your order after you arrive. The clueless staff can never even give you an estimate. Drivers have lost untold earnings accepting their orders. The only thing that keeps it going is a never-ending flow of Chipotle-addicted college students from other states who are too new-to-Ithaca or too stoned to know better. This particular Chipotle is managed very very poorly -- the tables and floors are always dirty and they usually do not prepare enough ingredients to get them through their 10:00 closing time. It's not uncommon for them to be out of brown rice, chicken, sour cream, cheese, and other crucial ingredients. I swear this place has to be some sort of charity for the mentally handicapped. Which honestly, I am in favor of, and when it's publicly advertised is a great idea. But, to employee only people with disabilities and expect customers to wait two hours for a chipotle bowl they ordered online, is frankly insane. After placing my order on Uber eats and being told it was a 5 to 15 minute wait, I went down to pick it up an hour later when the app told me that my food was ready. After being greeted by a large bearded man (who looked like he was no stranger to his own product), I found out that not only is the staff severely mentally disabled, but also super rude. The audacity for me to ask if you knew when my food might be ready! He continually told me he would let me know when it was ready, so I inquired: do you think it's going to be about five or 10 minutes or might it be another hour? Parking in this small lot sucks, there is constantly traffic. The line here is insanely long, ALL THE TIME when school is in session. You can wait up to 45 minute here easily, seriously for a burrito? For many occasions I end up next door at corelife because I just could not wait any longer nor does it even make sense. This chipotle has outdoor seating, but probably you can't sit oustide except for a few months out of the year, because it'd be too cold. I've had white rice here where the rice is not fully cooked. What can be said about this chipotle that hasn't already been said? Unfortunately, it is the only Chipotle or American style burrito around to compete, so it continues to thrive. They repeatedly get my orders wrong--even when ordering in-person. On top of that, they rarely clean the restaurant and leave it messy throughout the eating area and serving area. The food is worse than the average chipotle, and whoever runs this restaurant needs to either re-think their operational philosophy or just close all together. From the time I was first in line (first!), it took 20 minutes to go down the line and pay. The staff acts like they hate you for being their customer, and there is no sense of urgency. Food is great, but my order gets screwed up 1 every 3 times I get food delivered. Be careful when ordering 3x tacos because they love to make and send one instead. I've dealt with this fairly often. It's often packed and if you order through the app you will almost definitely wait at least 20 minutes longer than the promise time. I haven't written a Yelp review in ages, but I've been inspired to do so based on my experiences at this Chipotle. Pros: - The staff at this location have always been very nice, especially considering the immense difficulty they usually find themselves in. - The restaurant is reasonably clean. - When one is able to get food, it is often okay. Cons: - This Chipotle is broken. It literally cannot function. - The location is often out of fundamental ingredients, such as guac, rice or beans - The wait time for in-store service ranges from "too long" to "incomprehensibly long" - The staff is incredibly overworked. The problem with this restaurant is very clear, and it is their number of online orders. The sheer quantity they have to deal with far outpaces the location's ability to do so. They way the system is set up is that once an online order is placed, it is inserted in the "production line" quite quickly, so in a typical arrangement, it might go 2-3 in-store orders made, with an online order interspersed every now and then. Instead, it is more like 8-10 online orders with an in-store order occasionally made as well. This would be fine if there was little in-store demand, but this is the only Chipotle in a mid-sized town ALONG WITH nearly 30k college students. My frustration (which I am sure is shared by many others) came to a head last night when I arrived at the Chipotle to find out that they had completely *shut down* their in-store ordering in an attempt to deal with their online demand. There are a couple solutions to this problem. The easiest would probably be to just ADD ANOTHER CHIPOTLE location, because clearly the demand is present and the supply is sorely lacking. Another option would be to create a separate food production line for online orders only, or to place a higher priority on in-house orders as compared to online orders. Literally, any new system would be an improvement on what they have now. Two final thoughts: 1. Shout out to the staff at this Chipotle, because I know it must be incredibly difficult to deal with supply chain issues that they likely aren't responsible for. I'm sure they receive their fair share of abuse that they don't deserve. 2. This situation does help someone: the other restaurants in close proximity to Chipotle. If you are thinking of opening up a new eatery in Ithaca, look no further. The overflow from this disaster alone can probably sustain you for years to come. read more
