    Kogi Short Rib Tacos
    Katie-Ann F.

I came with a large group of friends (12), and the waiter was attentive in seating us all together. We each ordered, and I got the Gogi Short Rib Tacos. The food came out at different times which was fine, but the waiter was calling the dishes by the wrong name such as the cauliflower taco when it was actually fish. This was a problem because my friend is vegetarian, and he gave her the fish. We also ordered poutine for the table that never came, but extra chicken tacos that we did not order were placed on the table because "someone ordered them". The waiter got frustrated with us when we didn't claim the food and called over another waitress to help. She asked, "Who ordered the Brirria taco?" No one did. And he told her we did because he "wrote their [our] orders word for word". Later, he came back and said the waitress misspoke and it was the gogi short rib tacos. The tacos were incredibly salty at first bite. Suuuuper overpriced at $20 for 3 mediocre tacos. Not much flavor other than salt. Very underwhelming and dry meat. My side of corn salad never came until I asked at the end of the meal. At the end of the night, we went up to pay individually. The waiter was speaking to another employee: "I wanted to close up early tonight, but I guess not" (alluding to our table. The restaurant closes at 11pm, and it was only 8pm. I understand serving can be really stressful and overwhelming at times, but the waiter was rude and blamed us for mistakes that weren't ours.) After we each paid, the waiter came to our table and said we had to pay more for an additional item. Unknowingly, one of my friends paid for something extra that we didn't order/was already paid for. Unfortunately, my overall experience here was not pleasant, and I would not come back here.

    Bahn Mi - Pork

For a Cornell graduation weekend and Luna being centrally located in the middle of college-town, this was an excellent choice! This spot has a mish-mosh of flavors and tastes, it is a "street food inspired" so you'll get burritos, chicken bowls, sandwiches, chicken wings mixed with Mexican, Korean and Vietnamese flavors. Not one specific kind. We ordered the Vietnamese street food of Bahn Mi, and a Street Corn with Chicken salad bowl. Both options were very flavorful. This is not an overly expensive place, food was a huge portion and for what it it is, excellent choice for a bite.

Decent selection of vegan choices which I appreciated. The Tofu triangles are full off buffalo sauce but didn't do it for me. Their veggie egg rolls were tasty Vegan bahn mi was tasty and large on as yummy hunk of French bread. They have simple bench seating inside and outside sidewalk seating.

The menu looks incredible, but the food doesn't live up to its potential. The service was overwhelmed and disorganized, but kind. Overall a a meh experience but I definitely felt for the staff who were trying their best under the circumstances. CONS: We never received our appetizer, the meal that had a requested change came as it appeared on the menu, and it's hard to mess up mac and cheese but somehow they did. Our server seemed like he had WAY too much going on, and I felt bad for him honestly. I don't know, maybe it was an off day but it really set my father in law off (a boomer) and made the meal less than enjoyable--mainly due to his complaints. PROS: The shawarma salad was far and away the best meal any of us ordered--definitely recommend! The restaurant seemed clean. They have indoor and outdoor seating options.

NO. the menu is weird as hell, the servers had no clue how to talk about their beer selections and service was sooooo slow. while sitting at the table waiting for our food, a table sent back their food because it wasn't cooked right. we became concerned... as our food haven't come out from the kitchen yet. it was "Taco Tuesday" and a very silly concept at that. you had to choose a non-alcoholic beverage and it came with two (4 total) tacos. they were AWFUL and I think i've had better at a school lunch cafeteria. Korean Short Ribs & Fish Tacos. pretty standard at a fusion type taco spot, but these were really bad. corn tortillas were microwaved and hardened when it got to the table. The slaw on the fish tacos were so icky/soggy. to matters worse, the Pineapple Chicken was so sweet- it tasted like someone spilled a bag of SPLENDA on the reduction and just poured it over some chicken. the rice was a joke.

    Where the poutine?

I used to absolutely love this place. Unfortunately it's sliding down the hill. Their poutine fries used to be something I craved and went there solely to get. I've noticed more and more that they were mostly just soggy fries coming out. But this last time I brought it up to the waiter who said he would address it when he had time. He finally brought out a ramaken of gravy. It was literally cold to the touch. Obviously straight from the refrigerator. I won't be back. After dinner.

Luna is a great option for a quick bite to eat or a fun night out with friends. The menu is extensive and has some really unique options. My dad and I ordered takeout and both got tacos. They were super flavorful and fresh. The service was great as well. Would definitely recommend.

Size comparison to my hand (after I started trying to rinse some of the chipotle aioli off of the moth....)

I've never had an especially positive experience ordering takeout from Luna over the past couple years, but nothing too bad, especially not compared to some of the horror stories I've heard from friends. I never dared sit down and eat there because of the terrible service stories I heard. I've loved their taco salad, so it kept me coming back for takeout every couple months. Until today. I started eating my salad, got a little ways into it, and mixed it around with my fork.... When suddenly a VERY LARGE MOTH emerged from it, completely drenched in chipotle aioli!!!!! I have received restaurant food before with tiny little gnats and even a fly in them, and have been relatively unfazed. This happens! But this absolute MONSTER of a bug not only got into my salad (while very very alive) but the chef then proceeded to pile toppings ON TOP of the moth!!! My order was ready around 6:25pm and I didn't sit down to eat it till 45 minutes later and this thing was still VERY. MUCH. ALIVE! How did no one notice?! I called the restaurant and the woman who answered offered to make me another salad (no) or refund me. She refunded me - thank you. I do appreciate that. But I will not be coming back.

Friendly waitress and delicious food! We come here every time we're in Ithaca. We had the tacos and the Tijuana street fries as a starter.

Tacos CDMX has the best street-style tacos in the entire Ithaca area, hands down. I moved here…read moreafter 20+ yrs in California where food truck tacos are not only a staple, but an edible art form that is both approachable and cherished. Here, the food is never prepared in an overly curated-for-Instagram-but-empty-inside kind of way, but rather with a focus on simple ingredients prepared with care in a slow-food way that emphasizes their deep, rich flavor. My favorite is the Al pastor taco with pineapple, a combo of guacamole and chipotle salsas, with fried cheese added on top of the diced onions and cilantro. To die for!! And still only $5 each. This afternoon, after eating literally hundreds of their tacos over the last few years, I tried their smash burger. Absolutely outstanding! Might be the best burger in town as well, it's honestly that good. And only $10! A few weeks ago I had a burger from a local restaurant for $20, which seems to be the going rate, and it paled in comparison to their oh!-so-tasty-you-can't-stop-licking-your-fingers burger! And if you ask, they'll customize it for you with a fried egg, or in my case, with lots of extra fried onions. Their torta sandwiches have also garnered a cult following due to their packed ingredients and massive size, still just for $14. If you're lucky, in the warmer months Eduardo might be serving some of his delicious aqua frescas, or even better, some of his incredible lemonade beverages. Sooooo refreshing! The bonus: you get to hang out with these cool and friendly guys Eduardo & Carlos, as well as their friendly staff who work so hard to make your food so delicious. This place is truly an Ithaca treasure! And more good news: they just moved (May 2026) from Press Bay Alley (118 W Green St) to Press Bay Court (114 W Green St), where they now offer plenty of indoor seating, a big improvement over the old place that only had room for a handful of people at a time. Their outdoor seating has grown as well, and the overall ambiance is more festive and fun. Do yourself a favor - go get some of those mouth-watering tacos, and definitely try the smash burger!

With that said I highly believe any taco or burrito needs a great homemade tortilla or it ruins it and this 'mission' tortilla was no exception and made the taco not so pleasant with a sweet factory taste. I saw them cook my ribeye taco and put seasoning on it but it wasn't enough unfortunately. Also they don't have togo containers for the hot sauce which sucks cuz I wanted to try all of them and pour them on at my discretion. It was an alright taco tho and nice workers.

We decided on Bickering Twins, because can you go wrong with Mexican food and a margarita? Luckily we had no wait on a Friday evening at about 7pm. I was worried that since not many people were there it was a bad sign, but that was not the case. We were seated at a nice, sort of private high-top table near the door, which made it feel like we had privacy and our own little space. We ordered drinks, and I wimped out and went with a paloma instead of the tamarind maragarita. The paloma was great, but I'm still wondering whether I shouldn't have risked it. Our group of three decided to get chips & salsa (because why wouldn't you), and then we ordered three dishes to share. Our choices were as follows: Peruvian Ceviche, Birria Quesadilla and Chicken Enchiladas. First of all, the fact that they had ceviche and it was good just hands down made my day. It was good - I only wish there had been some corn kernels served with it. The birria quesadillas weren't what we had expected, but they were very flavorful and the juice was tasty. I Really enjoyed the enchiladas for the mix of flavors and textures. There were so many vegetables with our dishes and the sides of rice and beans were more than filling. My only complaint is that the rice was too much of a yellow rice - I prefer a white rice, but that's just personal preference. Even though we kept the menu at the table anticipating that we would want to order more, we ultimately were stuffed and the portions (while they looked small were actually quite filling!). Jose our server was kind and friendly. I would definitely come back as there are a variety of other meals I would try, and they have flights of Mezcal and Tequila that looked tempting. After a long hard day of hiking, this fabulous meal made the day. We returned to our hotel with sore legs, but our bellies full!

Kind of had low expectations but really yummy!…read more Service was not the best and was a bit slow but food was good! Pretty large portions too. We ordered the ceviche as an appetizer which was nice and limey- perhaps too many onions and rather large pieces. We also tried the popstar cocktail which was good- quite strong. For mains we ordered the taco plate with shrimp, chicken tinga, and lengua, plantains and potatoes. I liked the chicken and shrimp tacos the best. The carnitas platter was also very good! I thought that parts of the pork were a tad on the dry side but this is quickly remedied by pairing it with the beans and guac. Now, the star of the show and the reason this review has 4 stars and not 3 is the chipotle chocolate cake. I was expecting the chipotle/pepper flavor to be completely overpowered by the chocolate cake. However, the peppery taste came through! It wasn't spicy per se but it had a very mild kick but was just noticeable enough. The texture of the cake was also great- not your typical flourless chocolate cake, more custardy and creamy almost. Overall, would recommend! Food was solid- I thought the tacos and ceviche were better than the carnitas platter. The cake was the star of the show!

Anyways... what did I get out of it? An awesome group of people and well... MIX. Updating my review because MIX deserves a proper shoutout and I haven't done it justice. This place is unequivocally my absolute FAVORITE brunch spot. The selection is vast, the portions are hearty, and the staff? They're the kindest, most accommodating folks you'll meet. It's like they've mastered the art of making you feel right at home. And the food? Oh, the food is ABSOLUTELY divine. Every bite is a delicious reminder of why I've converted to the church of brunch. Seriously, I went from a casual brunch-goer to a full-fledged brunch enthusiast, all thanks to CHAARG for leading me to this culinary gem. My brunch game has never been the same.

I've had brunch, lunch, and dinner at MIX, and all with varying levels of enjoyment. My recent…read morebrunch experience included ordering a Where the West Begins omelette, which includes "Braised short rib, butternut squash, red onion jam, spinach, smoked gouda". I wasn't sure how to feel about butternut squash with everything else (I'm not necessarily a huge squash fan - but I'm trying to learn to enjoy it), but the omelette was decent... it's the other side on my plate that looked less than appetizing. The biscuit was still covered in flour (and who wants to bite down on a clump of flour?), the cheddar hashbrown casserole lacked in flavor, and the brown sugar cinnamon oatmeal just... wasn't doin' it for me. Other recent experiences have been similar... there's usually one item on the plate that's flavorful or imventive (sometimes a main dish, sometimes a side), and the other parts of the plate are lacking. In reality, I think MIX is suffering a bit from rising food costs and inconsistency in their service and offerings. They've also changed the style of their menu from the original tapas-style to now being more typical entree options. Again... they've lost some of their innovative, experimental approach. In terms of ambiance, it really depends. I've been here for a work event and, because of the number of people, it was SO LOUD... they had also done a buffet offering for the event. As you can imagine, the food from the buffet was lacking, but that's often what happens when you're more mass producing your food (and it's left in a chafing dish, trying to be kept warm). On the other hand, I've been here for a dinner on a random night and was able to enjoy one of their Thai noodle bowls (and split some other apps with friends). The reality is that experiences at MIX are... well... a mix. Whether service, menu offerings, etc., I've found MIX's recent inconsistencies to be a disappointment. Will probably only visit in the future if it's suggested by others.
