Stopped in today for the first time in a couple of years. The food is basic and well prepared. I had the Barbacoa burrito bowl today with brown rice and black beans. The add ins are much less than at Moe's, which is good and bad. I liked all the options at Chipotle, but some of my faves were missing from what you can get at Moe's. Having said that, my burrito bowl was delicious. The meat was well seasoned as were the rice and beans. The corn and cheese topped it off nicely with both pico and hot salsa added. Having gone later than the normal lunch rush, I was surprised to see how busy they still were. It took about 15 minutes of waiting in line and moving down the ordering counter to get my food. For a chain who puts themselves out there as somewhat healthy fast casual, I found their drink options interesting. They didn't have any unsweetened tea out for diners. They do offer a limited beer selection and a few margaritas for those who want adult beverages. Music is muted, so conversation is possible. Décor is pretty stark with stable mostly set up for communal eating. They do have a nice patio. Employees were friendly, if a bit harried. The main reason I don't eat there more frequently is there isn't one anywhere close to me. read more

I love Chipotle; it's hands-down my favorite place to eat. I typically get a burrito, usually with chicken, but I've tasted all of their meat options: pork, barbacoa, steak: they're all great. What's even better is that you can see them cooking right behind where you order, so you know it's fresh and it was actually made by a person. Here's a quick tip, ask for both types of beans (pinto and black) and two types of meat (eg, chicken and barbacoa) and you usually end up with a larger burrito than you would otherwise, and that's a plus in my book. Walked in to a sign that said Online Orders only. Everyone's got their phones out placing orders. Mine said order ready at 8:20, I've got a 10 minute wait. As I'm standing there with about 8 other people I observe a customer berate the two female employees behind the counter. This goes on for like 8-10 minutes because he sees them incorrectly fixing his order. They attempt to fix it and he says they're rude, it's bad customer service and the customer is always right (about 3 times). The females are rushing, spilling food all over the counter and the mood just started to suck. The irate customer leaves, it's 8:20 and I'm told m food will be another 10 minutes. I spot my food on the line. It looks bad, my bowl is skimpy and soggy. The steak quesadilla is okay, but not what I expected. I won't order that again. This is a passable Chipotle, probably the best one in Shelby County unfortunately. Add 15-20 minutes to the pickup time quoted on your mobile order; mine are never ready when I arrive. It's usually about three employees running around like mad while around six more stand around, talk, and laugh. The drink machine is always out of ice and the napkin dispensers are usually empty too. Whatever you do, do not actually order in the restaurant if you value your time. The employees can't be blamed for this part, but the customers here can be so clueless that they take twenty minutes just to order and pay for one burrito. The line moves at a snail's pace because of this. One star added because they give pretty big portions here. read more

My best friend and I decided to come here for valentine's day because that's how we roll. The line was extremely long and we waited about half an hour which was fine since there were a good amount of boys for us to stare at (kidding). We are long time customers of Chipotle. Today when we picked up our order, they were out of foil tops for the bowls, vegetables and black beans. We are vegetarians! they wrapped the bowl with foil and placed all three of the bowls stacked on top of each other in one paper bag. When I got home i noticed the bowls all leaked and the food was all over the floor of my car! I will have to get my car cleaned and we lost food in the floor of the car. Why Isn't this rated higher? ITS CHIPOTLE, GUISE!! I freaking love chipotle. Their rice is unbeatable (this is in comparison to Moes vs. Qdoba vs. Chipotle). Their meat is DERICIOUS. always warm, tender, and tastes amazing. Seriously. I'm not trying to knock the other chains, but their chicken you simply cannot beat. They always load it up and give you alot of the stuff that you want (i always ask for extra things). I love chipotle. You can't go wrong here. The only complaint I've heard from trying to convert non-chipotle-ans into chipotle-ans is that they don't offer the same nachos and queso that Moe's does. That doesn't bother me, bc I'm too freaking stuffed from my REGULAR chipotle burrito to even consider eating some more chips and queso. People swear by the guac here!! (i am not one of those, but listen to the others) During halloween, they always have some kind of special. this year it was a $2 Boo-rito (dress in a costume, get a $2 burrito). Love it!!! I love Chipotle no matter what city I'm traveling to. I always find that their quality is consistent across many locations throughout the US. I came to this location during lunch on a Thursday because it was near my hotel. The somewhat recent addition of the chorizo was a great decision. A little spicy but not too spicy. It's been about 5 years since I went to a Chipotle, but finally there is one in Memphis so I gave it another try. What I found is that in an ever changing food world, Chipotle has changed absolutely nothing. The interior is drab. Metal tables, bare wood walls. Very industrial feeling. It might have been a way to be different when they first opened these places, but it is cold and uninviting, and really needs to go. The menu, basic as basic can be. Burrito or taco (or bowl), tell them what you want in it, and optional chips as a side. Compared to any of the more recent restaurants in this genre the choices are very limited. I will say I still like the flavors. I find Chipotle uses flavors in everything (even the white rice is full of spices) and that they all work together quite well. All the meats are very well seasoned. I think some of the other places could up their game in this area. Still, overall, it doesn't make me want to come back. I'd eat here if friends were going, but it wouldn't be my choice. read more

I am in love with Chipotle. I could seriously eat a burrito bowl every day. The chicken burrito bowl sans dairy and with two types of beans is awesome. If you have food allergies, this is a great place to go. It's fast and it's high-quality food with high ethical standards, it's clean, and it's just plain good. The spices on the meat are great, there's a good lime/cilantro rice, the yellow corn salsa is sweet and hot with peppers, and the beans are spicy, but not too spicy. To write that it isn't spicy wouldn't be true, it is. It'll clear your sinuses a bit, but as one who isn't keen on a ton of spice, even I can handle it. They offer pork, chicken, and beef, and I think it goes from mild to hottest, respectively. Different salsas, guacamole, good cheese, and sour cream. I moved to Memphis from Colorado about 5 years ago. One of the many things I missed about Colorado was Chipotle. I was told by many Memphians to go to Moe's. I went to Moe's but found it to be a cheap imitation of Chipotle. Needless to say, I was so happy to see Chipotle open here in Memphis. Great food. Great service. Ok, here are my major complaints about chipotle: 1. Eveything is covered in cilantro. Like, all I taste is cilantro. 2. Their burritos tend to be kind of layered the wrong way. Like I get a huge mouthful of sour cream and then a huge mouthful of beans but not a little bit of everything like you want from a burrito of this caliber. 3. Almost everything is onion covered. 4. The lettuce is cut in big huge pieces that are not conducive to burritos. 5. It's pretentious, and was quite popular with jerks I knew in California who shop at Urban Outfitters. Eeew. 6. They just slap the sour cream on there in a big heap. Ouch. 7. I feel like this place is lacking in variety. How many shells can we put the same ingredients in and still call it something different? 8. The guacamole is way overpriced. 9. The salsa only comes in HOT and meh. No in-between. Pros: 1. I went here with a 'Gourmand' friend who swore that it would beat Q-Doba, hands down. Well. The peppers & onions on the line had expired, and new were being cooked, but they were happy to put the old/greasy/burned onions on my friends burrito. I tried the spicy pulled/shredded beef, and the flavor WAS nice, but the rice was a bit under par. No ground beef, which is my burrito meat of choice. Only one type of cheese, and no melted queso... (Imho, a staple in any eatery of this type.) For about $8.00 I got a burrito smaller than ones @ Q'Doba, with a less-enjoyed protien, with no melted cheese, and far fewer toppings. As another reviewer said, the interior is drab. The pipes and such above-head are not covered, and are painted in grey. The walls are "wooden" with carve-outs for the speakers, but they looked cheap to me, almost like pressboard. I ate it all because I paid for it. I won't be going back there again. read more

I think this Chipotle is going downhill. The boyfriend and I stopped in here for a late lunch, and there was a major bottleneck at the register. The person running it was trying to complete someone's order (something about a quesedilla), and rather than asking that customer to step to the side so she could ring up the rest of us, she just waffled back and forth while the line behind us got longer and longer as they continued taking orders. Paid up, we went to get drinks and condiments, where we discovered that there were no spoons out (just forks and knives), and while there used to be salt shakers available alongside the bottles of hot sauce, there weren't any to be found on the counter, other tables, or by the trash cans. I went outside to get a table while the boyfriend went in search of the missing items, and he reported that the cashier suggested looking on other tables for salt (what, just start asking other customers "Hey, anyone see a salt shaker?") and produced a spoon from behind the counter -- apparently they don't put them out anymore. The food was fine, but the experience of getting to it was entirely too frustrating for my liking. Get it together, Chipotle! read more

Asked for black beans and it was empty. She asked if pinto was ok. Sure. 20 seconds later black bean filler comes along. Water cup they gave me had a smushed gnat or small bug in it.
