I got chipotle last night after not having it for a while and I was all out disappointed. They put the red salsa in my burrito when I requested green and it was pretty much inedible. I had to give it to my roommate and make something else. I was really disappointed because I love chipotle, haven't had it in a while and was really looking forward to it! I got a free side of guac and I unwrapped my burrito to find a tablespoon at the very bottom and discovered a ton of red hot sauce. Just overall need to slow down, show care and do better when making peoples orders. The staff when I went to pick up my order was kind and on it but whoever put the burrito together didn't care and gipped me on the best ingredient. I'm heartbroken Chipotle, do better! read more

I've been going to Chipotle in Merced next to the mall a lot lately on lunch breaks and after work for dinner. I honestly believe this might be one of the best chipotles around. I have no doubt that all of the food served is fresh and it's always delicious and plentiful. The servings are large and sometimes even extra large. I have never had a bad experience with the work staff, everyone's always nice, gracious, quick, and helpful. Sometimes I stay and eat there and sometimes I take it to go but this Chipotle is honestly a hidden gem and way less expensive than groceries! read more

Food was no good, the worker gave me beans when I explicitly said no beans. Even though I was willing to try the beans with my bowl I deeply regretted it and it drove me into a deep madness which led to me writing this. The beans corrupted my pure and perfect white rice making finishing the meal impossible. If you are the server, I want you to know I hate you and hope you stub your toe every day for a year then have it stop for a week to make you think it's over then have it continue for the rest of your life. read more

I always enjoy my experience when I come in! The restaurant can feel a little cramped sometimes, especially when people leave their tables messy during busy hours. Don't be like those people and pick up after yourselves! The food is consistent and I always enjoy extra Tabasco sauce. I usually order a bowl or salad and pack it dense. When I brought the error to the staff's attention, the general manager Payton , came over. I explained the issue calmly, but her reaction was instantly defensive and incredibly rude. She spoke to me with a dismissive tone, a patronizing attitude, & handled the situation with unnecessary hostility. My order was bagged up and when I got home I was given the wrong bowl, I came in previous to that and the top to my bowl wasn't on correctly and my bowl ended up all over the paper bag. Payton also wanted to argue in front of other customers which is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, making me feel so disrespected and belittled. Instead of apologizing and offering a quick solution, Payton seemed determined to argue that I was somehow wrong despite clear evidence to the contrary, she kept interrupting me, & raised her voice. This is not how a professional establishment should handle a service recovery. Payton's goal seemed to be to pick a fight rather than ensure customer satisfaction. The combination of a basic order error and the manager Payton's appalling behavior ruined my experience. I understand that mistakes occur, but the staff, and especially management, should be trained to resolve issues gracefully, not escalate them into arguments. I strongly recommend that potential customers avoid this location until management addresses these serious customer service issues. read more

Hair in food multiple times in one week. Undercooked crunchy rice. Red edges on the lettuce. Usually good but has been lacking lately.

I went to order and explained I had three bowls, the 1st employee started to help me by asking what I wanted. Another employee comes up and while I'm chatting with the first employee, she asks what I want for the 2nd bowl. She then asks again while I'm still trying to communicate what I would like in the first bowl. I asked nicely if I could only focus on one bowl at a time for each section, when the 2nd employee tossed the bowl aside and rolled her eyes. The 1st employee was nice, but extremely rushed, to the point where when I asked for pinto beans, she put in tofu. I was upset because I feel like I'm above average when it comes to multi-tasking, but being asked at the same time what I wanted for two different bowls was a lot. I asked to speak to the supervisor because I did feel offended how the 2nd employee reacted-- the supervisor shrugged her shoulders and said "well, they have to get you in and out in 15 minutes." So lack of professionalism is okay as long as you hit your numbers? Everytime I come this location, I have been rushed, had to go back because while they are rushing, they put the wrong items in, and always leave feeling flustered. I will not visit this chipotle anymore to be treated poorly. I treat the employees with respect and kindness and do expect the same Edit: I did speak to supervisor and contact Chipotle on their website. Service was not great he didn't even apologize for how he wrapped my burrito seeing that the food was obviously all over my tortilla and the foil didn't even cover it just messy I didn't want to make a big deal about it but looking back I should of said I need a new one. When you order a steak quesadilla and they make it out of their tortilla for tacos. It was too late to go back when we figured it out when we got home. They even screwed up my salad. I mean yes the food is delicious, and it is a great place to feel real full. But sometimes, I don't like how they have missing ingredients, or take online orders only. It is always a mystery show of what will happen... But yes, I admit the food is super good. The burrito's tortillas are NEVER raw, the food is always HOT. The ingredients are always FRESH, and the meat is NEVER dry. They are generous with their portions and the price is unbeatable. The chips are super good, and the aguas???? Oh my goodness you have to go check it out for yourself. I am never disappointed with the quality of food, it is my go to when I'm super hungry and know they won't disappoint. As we stood in line, we noticed that they had NOTHING set up to begin taking orders. We waited about maybe 8 minutes, and the only thing we saw that was brought out was the white rice. I looked at my mom and said, "Let's go somewhere else." I've worked in food service and we always were ready when we opened. If you are going to open at 10:45, maybe your employees need to get there early enough to have food prepared and ready to serve. I love Chipotle and have been a regular. Everytime that I went there I've caught the staffs charging me for items that I didn't not order. They tried to be slick by charging me for quacamole or extra meat thinking i wouldn't know.(Yes I do check my receipt!) And Please! I don't even like the quacamole! Whoever made it must love salt! It's too salty and not to mention the cook over seasoned the chicken and made it extremly salty, like SALT WATER SALTY. The staffs are rude and dishonest, i ordered a chicken bowl and received the smallest portion ever! A kid and another lady behind me also order a chicken bowl, they receive a mountain full of chicken that went over their bowls, I looked at theirs and looked back at mine... SMH. read more

The worst chipotle experience I've ever had. I am an avid chipotle enthusiast and I have never experienced this in my life terrible customer service. I asked for steak and the lady gave me a quarter of a spoon full with an empty restaurant and I asked for an normal amount and she said u have to pay double if u want more I literally counted 6 pieces of meat in my bowl. Customer Service was amazing! Every person was greeted walking in the store. Each worker was very attending, enthusiastic, and KIND! Unfortunately, this is a rare thing nowadays. I'm glad to know this Chipotle team has great morale and character. I'm lowkey picky and particular about how I like my food. Usually when I ask for little lettuce, people still pile a mountain on- NOT HERE! I got exactly what I asked for and they didn't even make me feel like I was a burden or asking for too much! Today you get five stars Chipotle Merced! it was 12:00 noon (lunchtime) and that was the fastest service I have ever had at a chipotle. Literally in and out, I've never seen an assembly line so clean and well organized. Well done! This is by far the best experience. I've had catering with Chipotle. It's usually about 50-50, whether or not the food will be done on time and if everything is included. This location not only had my food ready on time, but they proactively call ahead just to make sure that my order was exactly the way I needed. I even had two wonderful employees. Help me bring the catering boxes out to my car. I can't express how grateful I am for the professionalism and kindness That all of the individuals showed going above and beyond. This is the only chipotle in Merced and I have been consistently let down by it. There needs to be more care and attention that is given to the customer over getting the customer out of line. I just ordered a veggie bowl and found a piece of steak in it. As a vegetarian (required by my religion not just preference), this is highly concerning and shows a lack of care. I called the manager of the chipotle just now and found myself being talked over and given lame excuses such as "it usually doesn't happen because of the way we scoop the meat". I understand that the guidelines of how one ought to serve food on the line makes it so that cross contamination would be unlikely, however what ought to be and what IS, is not in synch with this location. read more

Tonight went to chipotle normally I get okay service, not today and not the past few times. When I pay over $35 for two bowls I would expect a $35 bowl with the portions. They need better training at this location. There was a whole line of workers for the couple in front of me and then upon my turn the worker started my bowl up until the meat, then left it there, walked away, and started making other plates maybe for to go orders.. but then my bowl was just sitting there waiting to be completed. The woman standing behind me in line looked at me - like what the heck is going on? Finally someone came and completed my order. Next I had to wait on a cashier but there were three workers in the back laughing. The gal that was the cashier was cleaning tables (doing her job so I can't be mad about waiting a little bit) while her co-workers were messing around in the back. The line cook (male) and one of the girl workers I could see back there (as I'm waiting at the register to be rung up) the girl dropped something and bent over in front of him. It was weird. I don't know what's going on. Same girl that bent over like that looked high as a kite. Her eyes were glazed. Where is the manager or superior? Anyways. Food was fine, it's standard chipotle. It was dirty inside and the food bins were empty and the workers looked annoyed when we walked in. Waited a few mins, no one was in line , and finally someone came over and they just threw the food in the bowl and put the burrito together real crappy.
