Went here a few days after it opened. Line was long but moved at a decent pace. Food was great, as usual. The employees honestly did not do a bad job at making the food, which was great because this place recently opened. The only thing I dislike about this Chipotle is how open the seating area is--people in line stare at you while you are eating. I have been to other Chipotles and they had more booths and there was a higher "guard" between those in line and those eating. read more

First time entering a Chipotle and I have to say I was not pleased. The place was messy, there were several employees but none attended the lobby. The smell of cleanser was stronger then the smell of food which is somewhat alarming. I ordered a quesadilla and asked to place another order for rice to be put in the tortilla but was told I'd be charged for a burrito instead. The customer service was not great. No eye contact and it felt like I was being rushed. Will not be going back. read more

I come here because it's the only one within a 30minute radius but if there was another Chipotle closer I would NEVER go to the one on Merced again!!! First of all, I've eaten at Chipotle all over California and this one is by far the worst ever. Their portions are WAY smaller and even when I asked for more meat that I was charged $2.00 more for they still where skimpy with it. I had to get the manager out in order to get what I was paying for. Secondly their employees SUCK! Rude, slow and most of them are smoking in the parking lot or hanging out in the back while there's only one girl up front. Whoever is in charge of this place needs to be replaced because they're obviously not doing their job. Third, the music coming from the kitchen is far louder then the music playing in the smallest dining area ever. I really hope whoever owns this joint reads these reviews because I'm not the only patron that feels this way. Turlock isn't as close but might be worth the drive for a better Chipotle experience! read more

Very upset with there service. I always see a long line in there, the person who warmed up my tortilla yesterday was very rude & the tortilla wasn't even warmed up, it was still cold. Than, the girl who put my burrito together didn't spread it out, so one side of the burrito only had guacamole & the other side didn't. Very rude people & unprofessional. None of them had name lags on, some of them didn't have hats on & others did, & mostly, nobody greeting me welcoming. I work at subway & I always greet my customers nicely because that's what your suppose to do. Also, the restraunt was a mess, & the lemon lids were falling off. Very disappointing. read more

Good customer service although they are pretty stingy with their meat choices. I feel like I'm always paying $9 for rice and guacamole. They barely give u any meat. The only good thing I would say from today's visit is the food was hot. Everything was horribly salty beyond belief. The retried beans were dried on top in the dish they were serving from. The tables were dirty. I have been to others and they were much better. Will not go here again. read more

I love this chain and the quick time it takes to get your food. However, I do not like the high prices and the quantity you get for it. Every time I order double meat they always only give me regular amount yet still charge me more for it which always is frustrating since I don't get many other add ons. I enjoy coming here, but in the future I'd like the quantity for what I am paying for. read more

Long incredibly slow line because all of the staff were working on one order that they couldn't seem to get right. The food when we finally got it was cold! Due to the staff being utterly consumed by one order, there were no clean tables. This is my third visit to this Chipotle and it has been the same slow dirty low standard every time we've gone. read more

Honestly, I don't know what all the complaints are about! The food was just as good as any other Chipotle if not better. The employees had such a great dynamic together and sang songs for us. Wish I can say something good about this place but I cannot. Customer service is the worst I've ever witnessed at a chipotle, and get this there are some horrible ones I've been to but this location surpassed them all easily hands down. This place is not as busy as if you were to visit one in the Bay Area, with that said they cannot move the line fast enough with only 5 customers in line. Really that is bad I would love to see an employee from this location try and work in a bay are location where the line is out the door, they wouldn't last one day. I love other chipotle locations, but this one is terrible. There was food and garbage on the tables and floors while 5 employees stood around seemingly nothing. There were no napkins available and the soda fountain was not working properly. To top it off, the chips were so greasy and somehow broken I couldn't eat them. read more

This was my first time going to any Chipotle ever. I was surprised to see that it was a "build-your-own" type restaurant. The food was really good (I had a barbacoa burrito with mild salsa, cheese, and guacamole). I really liked the flavors and the employees were very patient with me and polite as well. Worst place to go with kids ... staff so rude, in a hurry, they just have no patience to wait. Kids of course can't make up their mind. I understand that they want their service to be quick but plsssss make it quality service! If won't hurt smiling a lil bit and maybe helping customers through your suggestions. It's like your next!!! You have 10 secs to make up your mind!!! ... and so since you exceeded your time... guess what? I wish they had better seating for kids. The bar style tables are way too high for toddlers and there are only a few tables that are regular height. Last time we went, the dining area was pretty dirty and they weren't even that busy. The ledge behind me where our seats were looked like it had not been cleaned in a week and there was food all over the floor. Even an elderly lady that was leaving, stopped and looked at means said, "They sure don't keep this place very clean, do they." This is the second Chipotle i have visited...no more! Each time I have gone in I ordered one of their burritos...each time I paid over seven dollars for a burrito that was filled with mostly rice! This time I asked the server to add some MEAT...when I did, the girl next to him spoke up and said this is what you get...really!!!...not this time...I explained to her that it was not enough...let me explain...the server used his thong to pick up just enough to cover the utensil and dropped it in the fifty foot tortilla...great idea Chipotle...used a gigantic tortilla to look like "what a deal"...NOT...she then went on to say if I wanted more she would charge me for a "double"...are you kidding me...I get more meat on a fork at my home...when I told her I was not going to be charged for a "double"...she relented and told me, "ok, this time we will do it." GUESS WHAT...ther will never be a next time. read more

This place is not as good as other Chipoltes. Takes forever and meat is super salty, not fresh, and burrito bowl dry. I have been here 3 times and there are so many other great Mexican place a in town; Fiesta, Fina Estampa, Ponchos, el asdero and others, you would have to be a tourist or community college student to give your !money to this chain with so many local more authentic establishments. read more

we attempted to go to chipotles and the opening employee was rude although the ones behind the counter were not. I have four kids and I always order the cheese quesadillas kids meals that come in cups with lids to go. I have asked them to charge me extra and put them in a bowl, as it is much easier for my kids to eat on the go.... but I am told NO. This is my fourth time coming here and I really dread ordering and feel like I'm the one holding up the line!!!! Very bad management, poor staff skill's and a Great discrepancy in the quality of food compared to other Chipotles in Turlock or Modesto. I was so excited about the new Chipotle in Merced first opening up, now I rather eat at Taco bell. At least Taco bell knows what they are doing! A REAL Manager needs to do some serious hiring and firing if they want this restaurant to work! read more

We have so many good, local, authentic Mexican restaurants that this place opening seemed really redundant. If you want some bomb, healthy Mexican cuisine check out J&R Tacos on Main St. Way better food, way better staff, and you'd be supporting local independent businesses, which Merced desperately needs. read more

The food is good, however, I can never eat it fresh off the line. It's always luke-warm! I have to take it home and throw the burrito in the microwave for a minute to get it up to an acceptable temperature. Otherwise, it's a Chipotle: weird seating, clean store, expensive flavorful food that arrives luke-warm somehow despite being prepared in front of you. i signed up just to post this review, i feel that crummy. i went here about 18 hours ago, ordered my usual veggie bowl, and i am still feeling the repercussions. now, i have an iron stomach. i can eat almost anything, and i used to work at chipotle, eating it nearly everyday, so i know that there are no ingredients i am allergic to. i am hispanic, so the salsas and guacamole are hardly foreign, my stomach can handle level 9 thai food, so it wasn't the spices. i suppose the reason for my sickness would have to be of this specific store's fault. i have never gotten sick from chipotle, in the past 3 years that i have been eating there, yet today i can barely function. i am not the type of person to complain on the internet, but it is unacceptable that i am sick after eating an item off of their menu that i have eaten atleast 50 times before, without any adverse effects, hopefully management will see this and do something about this store's cleanliness and health standards! i know there are many jokes about chipotle and the digestive system, but man, this sucks lol read more
