I came here solely for Chilaquiles. My in-laws mentioned how delicious they were and I had to come try them. We walked in and even though it's small, most of the tables were full. You know the food's gonna be good when there are Mexican grandmas eating breakfast there. We were brought chips with three different types of salsa. All were good but just different. The chips were amazing. Warm and crunchy. Our meals came out quickly and the chilaquiles were perfect: great sauce, the toppings were just right, the chips were still crunchy and not soggy. We found a new favorite taco spot! La Taqueria on Main St. These have to be some of the best tacos in town. We split 5 mini tacos for $11 and it came with those thick chips and salsa. Most Mexican restaurants have the thin tortilla chips but on rare occasions you'll find an excellent Taqueria that's got those thick chips, I think they might be flour tortilla chips? The salsa is pretty good, too hot for me. The service is fantastic. The food was on our table in no time. The ambiance is perfect for a little Taqueria. Summertime warming, no ac in here but they have a bunch of fans going. Another heads up, a lot of the menu is in Spanish. Have a plan incase you can't read it. I suggest the 5 mini tacos. read more

Mybwife and I stopped in here after reading some of the reviews, and they were not wrong. The staff/girl that assisted us was very friendly and assisted with making our order. I had the burrito supreme and it was really bit and very good. The steak was very tender and the flavor of the burrito blended well together. The chips and salsa were very good as well. This spot is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was so welcoming, bright, and amazingly clean. The two young ladies working were super friendly and made us feel right at home. The food was beyond delicious, you can really taste the love in their freshly handmade tortillas and flavor packed salsas. We happened to stop by while passing through on a work trip, and the sweetest lady went above and beyond by gifting us two beautiful Mexican flower mugs. Her kindness totally blew us away! Order: Shrimp Burrito with Carne Asada it came with chips and 3 different salsas. This was an outstanding burrito! I cannot express how good everything really was from top to bottom on the burrito. Carne asada was light, not chewy, seasoned well enough. Shrimp tasted like it was just freshly cooked. Tortilla was super thin and light, but held surprisingly well. Rice, which I often hate, was excellent. The Smokey chipotle sauce that comes with it was outstanding! On top of that all of their chips are VERY good. Salas had to of been made that day. They were spicy and exactly what I had hoped for in a salsa. Service was solid, my burrito was piping hot. I'd consider this place to be much more like a hole in the wall type business. Our first time visiting Merced and we were craving Mexican food. We found La Taqueria Con Sabor A Mexico - and what an awesome find it is! We went in for breakfast and my husband ordered chorizo and eggs and I was craving a good ol' bean and cheese burrito. We ordered at the counter and sat down for dine in. The restaurant is a smaller mom and pop vibe and it is super clean. There is outdoor seating as well which is nice when the weather is warm. The folks working here are super friendly and nice. We were served 3 types of salsa with home made chips. Yum! Our food was so delicious and such a great value! Our two dishes and a can of diet coke and a bottled water was $23.80 since I paid cash. There is a small transaction fee when using card. The chorizo and eggs were delicious as was my bean and cheese burrito. Their homemade tortillas are awesome! This has to be my favorite burrito in Merced! I ordered the carne asada burrito and it came with beans, rice, cheese, lettuce, and avocado. The meat was seasoned very well although I wished it had a bit more meat. Each bite was mostly rice and beans so more meat would've helped. However, still good! I wanted Horchata, but they didn't have any. They did have a variety of Jarritos so that was good. The service was good, not much to say there. We popped into La Taqueria for a quick bite on our way from Yosemite to Sequoia and what a gem. The kids devoured their cheese and bean burritos, while the cheese quesadilla and bacon breakfast burrito hit the spot. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Big shoutout to the kind young ladies working in the back they checked on us several times and made us feel genuinely welcome, which is rare and refreshing these days. And I have to say: the bathroom? Immaculate. Possibly the cleanest I've ever seen in a taco shop. That detail alone speaks volumes about how this place is run. Had the enchiladas michoacanos plate. They were authentic just like Mexico. 5 enchiladas filled with queso fresco (hold the onions) with lettuce and queso on top. Potato cubes cooked in the enchilada sauce, and a delicious side piece of chicken with pickled carrots on top of the plate. (not spicy at all. They were the perfect garnish) The fresh squeezed orange juice was so tasty and naturally sweet. I got a cup to go home as well The chips came out hot and fresh, their salsa was not spicy at all. It was perfect. Service was great. Really nice people. Only bad thing was, visited at 8 pm and the small lobby was so cold. I think a little heater in there can fix that. I would have liked to eat my dinner and be warm. Overall this was a very great experience and I recommend anyone to go try their food. They did not disappoint. I will go back sooner than later. This place is small but the food packs a big punch! The aguas were delicious and refreshing! I am picky when it comes to my chilaquiles and these blew me away! Their tortilla chips were still crunchy which I love! The chicken I added was SO FLAVORFUL! the rice and beans tasty! And not dry! The burrito de asada was lacking. Definitely do not order that. It's missing meat and more flavor. The tacos dorados are only offered on the weekend so we had to try it! These were AMAZING!! The flavor the crunch! Yummy and pleasant, casual & kid-friendly place to meet up with friends or get a quick weeknight dinner. Loved the food, and so did our 8-year-old (!), always a bonus. I had tacos birria & camaron, my son had pollo. Spouse got enchiladas and loved them. Everything was flavorful and carefully prepared. Chips and 3 different salsas were delicious. Lady at the counter was very kind and friendly and great about my child's food allergies. She came by a couple times to check on us. We returned twice more within a couple weeks, bringing friends along. Everyone seemed to enjoy it including our friend's daughter who is gluten free. The person who left a nasty review complaining about not being served....dude, you order at the counter! Then you sit where you want, and your food is brought out. This weekend me and family stop by! We were carving Menudo and it was very good flavor was on point. They serve it with handmade tortillas and also we ordered the chilaquiles I ordered half red half green! It was a delish combination. The service was good. I chose the Quesadilla Camorone which was loaded...probably the best quesadilla I've ever had! I couldn't eat it all, so took half of it home for dinner! The only two negatives: Plastic cutlery is a pet peeve of mine! Not in the best part of town, so a couple of homeless folk approached me while I was eating.
