Okay, I'm sitting in this Chipotle right now. I drove two hours just to eat this veggie burrito bowl. I moved to San Angelo from a place where all food is everywhere (oh, hey New York City). I'm not used to being deprived of... anything. But the Air Force told me I have to move to a Chipotle-less town in West Texas. At first, I was fine. I said, "Sure, Freebirds isn't as good as Chipotle, but they're just different. Freebirds will suffice." Oh, how wrong I was. As the weeks went on, I realized after multiple trips to Freebirds, my burrito bowl fix just wasn't happening. My needs grew stronger, and I knew this Chipotle lie here in Midland, a 2-hour drive away. Finally, I got in the car and drove. I rejoiced when I saw the storefront after the long drive. When I got inside, I couldn't help but smile like a psycho as I ordered my burrito bowl. I couldn't stop myself from shouting, "I DROVE TWO HOURS FOR THIS MOMENT." Every employee working the line was shocked and stuffed my burrito bowl till it was overflowing. No, I could never finish it, but that isn't the point. Then I got to the cash register, and it was already paid for. PLUS THIS BURRITO BOWL IS DELICIOUS AND I'M IN HEAVEN. Small victories for this Airman from NYC. read more

Why bother writing another review for Chipotle? Just for the sake of writing another review. It's everything you want and expect from Chipotle. Not sure if you'll get the same service but I was lucky that (1) no long line and (2) they gave ridiculously large portion sizes. Not having to order double chicken is like winning the jackpot. This is the WORST Chipotle I have ever been to! The line moved TERRIBLY slow, my burrito was significantly under-portioned, they put about THREE little drops of sour cream, the white AND brown rice had WAY too much lime juice, the chips we ordered were completely stale and there were CHUNKS of salt crystals on the chips! Is it just me or does this location not have all the menu items available at other Chipotles? This location is tiny and super crowded at lunch. I agree with the other reviews who stated that the food was bland and ( the meat) overcooked. I've eaten at Chipotles here and there and always been satisfied, this location is missing something though. It was like eating a bowl of "meh" even with just about every "fixin" they offered. I will give credit regarding the cleanliness of the place. Seemed to be pretty spot on in that regard. Service was reasonable also. First time, ever. Do not understand what all the buzz/fuss is about. I had a carnitas burrito with rice, grilled peppers and onions with a bit of lettuce. Add some salsa medio and a soft drink. Food was prepared quickly and served hot. It seemed to me the place was over staffed. We sat down to enjoy our meal in a spartan bar style dining area. I was disappointed, the mix of flavors was muted, couldn't taste the salsa or the carnitas either. Not sure if I'll come back. I prefer Taco Bell for the value and Freebirds for variety. Went in April 2014.Good food and service. The location is tiny. This location is super packed, and when lines go out of the door it has more people than the fire code decided number of 59. Don't know why they got such a small place. Hope they have room to expand. Anyway, I liked the manager a white guy who handled the crew and the crowd well when they ran out of black beans as well as paper bowls on a late night. Good service and good team. read more

You can never go wrong with chipotle! I usually have a great experience but today the lady that was making my bowl couldn't hear what I was saying for some odd reason. I'd tell her white rice, she would ask brown. I said pento beans, she gave me black beans. I said Barbacoa, she said chicken. I said mild she gave me medium. She was extremely quick to put everything in my bowl that I couldn't correct her before she slapped it in the bowl. When I told her my bowl was wrong, she insisted that's what I said. 3 things wrong in a bowl I always get, never change anything. I definitely know it was not me. Instead of arguing with her, I took my bowl and left. Idk what is up with the employees but if you don't like your job, find another one. Poor attitudes make it a bad experience for the customers. I'll definitely get chipotle again (it's my favorite) but if it comes with another bad attitude employee, it will probably be my last visit at this midland location. read more

I live in Plano Texas and i am use to going to the Chipotle there and apparently use to their serving size. When I went to the one here Midland and asked for chicken on in my bowl the girl put half a spoon of chicken in there and when I asked her for more she wanted to charge me double. Any way so I told put double then but use full scoops not half she then rolls her eyes. This place really is to be avoided if you are use to normal Chipotles. read more

The last time I was in, I was pleased. Then I realized the health inspector was in and they were on their best behavior. Went in today and it was a mess-empty chip bags left open and falling on the floor; marinade in an open blender with a spoon left in the container. The staff is rude and "slop" the food together like they're doing me a favor by serving. I took a couple of bites then lost my appetite and threw my food away. I've been to chipotle across the country and well, leave it to Midland to ruin a perfectly good franchise. I always order a super chicken burrito with the cheese melted before assembly. It always costs 10 bucks. This place tried to charge me 12.50 for that with chips and drink last time, ok. I come back mostly for the clean bathroom, and this time they tried to charge me 15 with no chips and drink. The price is different every time. The employees, bless their hearts, are trying to keep up with the lunch crowd, and despite common sense this town has a fundamental difference between the rest of the world's definition of a burrito and what Midland thinks is a burrito. Chipotle has lost my business in this division, if not the whole state, and has cast itself into the scrap heap along with rosas, taco bell, del taco, and jumburrito. Sorry, because when the price is right the food was decent comparatively. Sometimes you just have to walk away. Really disappointed. Steak burrito was suuuuper spicy (I ordered mild salsa) and had very little flavor otherwise. The workers were either ignoring what I was saying or couldn't hear correctly due to the excessively loud music, but somehow I ended up with some queso and chips. It was gross. There was no flavor and it had a curdled-like texture. After trying my kid's chicken, I figured out why he refused to eat. It was ridiculously spicy, too. Calm down people, it's not like there's not a whole lot of Mexican restaurants in Midland that don't serve the same food as Chipotle. Some do a better job but lack the quickness of Chipotle, Martinez Bakery. Some have a nice atmosphere but not great food, Abuelos. Others have both, Rosas. But it's just a little different here at Chipotle because they are limited on seating area, food choices, food is good but they sure are stingy with the portions. Did I mention the music is LOUD! I've ordered from here once before and it was good, not great. This time I ordered the exact same thing and it was drastically different. I'm not sure what changed, maybe management, maybe staff, maybe something else. Either way, it was not good. Burrito bowls in the past have been full, ACTUALLY full. Not Lay's bag of chips full. It would fill up the container. This time, not only did it not clear the rim, it didn't even spread out in the entire bottom of the bowl. If I compared it to "cups", a regular full bowl is about 6 "cups" and this measly overpriced scrap is about 2 1/2 "cups". I don't know what changed, but if this is what I'm paying for, more cardboard and aluminum than food I will NOT be returning. read more

I always order a salad, this is the second time in a row they have not had salad dressing. I usually get grilled chicken, however the chicken was extremely burned. I opted for shredded beef on this visit. The food prep area was extremely dirty. As I started eating I found the beef to be extremely fatty! My friend started eating and but down on a piece a plastic in her bowl. Our visit was extremely disappointing. She asked for a refund and I threw my bowl away. I like this Chipotle for a lot of reasons. The price is what you would expect when go to a restaurant that has a vetted supply chain. The meat is rarely burnt. The sour cream usually tastes fresh. I haven't seen flies inside yet. The seating area has been clean every time I went there as well as the bathroom. The bathroom "utilities" have been in working order and stocked. The hours are great and convenient. The music volume is great. Things I don't like about this location are minor. It is mainly management. This is a hard problem to fix due to employee turnover. Enforcement of the guidelines is key. The person in charge of selecting the grill employee has been unwise. The grill employee was unsanitary in the past and apathetic. The employees could be more alert to customer arrival. The serving line replacing food after it had been rejected from the server's mistake is unacceptable. The air conditioning could be cooler but is sufficient. read more

I take back my previous review because the quality and service at this Chipotle has gone downhill. For the past two months I have come here on Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. They NEVER open on time and are never prepared. I guess Chipotle caught the Midland customer service disease...symptoms: subpar service. Today the tortilla tasted like it was past its expiry date. The fountain drinks were not available. First of all I love Chipotle. I've loved it since the first time I had it in Gainesville Florida. I love the burritos but have now learned to enjoy the bowl. This one here is a medium size restaurant. They place is clean and the staff is fast. The food taste the same as always. So consistency is great. I got the Half chicken and half Barbacoa bowl with brown rice , chipotle salsa, sour cream and lettuce. I like the mild salsa also but not a fan of the onions. So i always ask if they can just give me the juice. And this place did the best to do that for me. It's hard when you are still picky. But it's always a plus when the staff does everything to help. I also order the chips. You have to get the chips. Made daily and with lime juice and sea salt. I eat them with my bowl. I have a technique on how I eat my with my chips or a madness. But it works great for me. Over all I always have a great experience eating at Chipotle. I'm glad that even in Midland in the desert they don't skimp out on you. Weather here in Midland or in Chicago, Cincinnati, Denver, San Diego or any where else in this country it's always a great place to eat. This was probably the worst Chipotle I have been to. They were very stingy with the portion sizes. The amount of salad dressing they gave only just covered the bottom of the little cup they put it in. Not pleased with our visit tonight! We have been excited to finally have a Chipotle but we're very disappointed with our experience. The place was dirty, the rice was undercooked, SOMETHING was WAY too spicy in our bowls, and they don't use RO water in their fountain drinks...gross! Also they were out of chips and tried to charge us over $2 for guacamole! To top it off they had the temperature too low and it was freezing inside. I ordered a bowl to go as usual, but the area where my food was prepared was full of sour cream, cheese and other ingredients that ended up on the bottom of my bowl. I mentioned it to the server and was dismissed. If he would have made some kind of effort, like given me another bowl or wiping off the bottom of my bowl, I would have walked out and not posted. Instead I took a closer look, and noticed that most of the dining room tables were dirty as well as the drink station, and on my way into the store I literally had to watch my step or step in food. Not fresh food but salsa that was half dry and brown. It had been there a while. All he had to do was be nice, and I would have walked my happy ass out the door with my eyes closed. We had Chipotle cater our party last night. It was a BIG hit with everyone. They gave us everything we needed. When I arrived to pick-up the Order, the girls there were very friendly and carried my order to my vehicle. Shout-out to Sarahi, Amber & Erin employees @ the Midland location! Great job ladies!! The only two items that would have made this review a 5-star instead of 4 would be for them to have given us a larger serving of our meats, one container less of each condiment, and instructions on how to work the trays and flammable warmers for the food (our bean tray almost burnt all the way through). Other than this, we will definitely be using them again to cater our parties! read more

Chipotle used to be my favorite place to eat but after my experience today i don't thing ill be returning. I noticed the change to smaller bowls last year but this is getting ridiculous. The contents, flattened out hardly reached the middle of the bowl. They failed to drain the beans, leaving a sopping mess. I asked for guac, which is extra (as we all know) and i get approx. a tablespoon put in my bowl...wtf? To add insult to injury, the guac was nasty - not only did i have the tough and inedible bit of the avocado, it accounted for like 30% of what they gave me! Same thing goes for the sour cream, i got approx. a tablespoon of that also. The steak was NASTY, there where bits of fat and it was overcooked and dry. About half of the steak i couldn't eat due to how chewy and tough it was. This wasn't a bowl, it was a soup. Y'all need to step up and fix this...this is West Texas and there are plenty of other places to get fast Mexican food. Disappointed. read more
