Chipotle: In the burrito battle of fast casual restaurants two names quickly come to mind, Qdoba and Chipotle. It's honestly been years since I've had either, but I prefer Chipotle because I had it first. Back in my days at UW, my friends and I would hit up the State Street location, so it has a warm spot in my heart. The other reason I have to give the nod to Chipotle is I'm an RN and for National Nurse's Appreciation Week, Chipotle treated us with vouchers for a free burrito (granted I did need to enter a lottery). My burrito was comprised of a warm flour tortilla, juicy steak, brown rice, black beans (have to get my fiber), flavorful fajita veggies, sour cream, and extra cheese. Those of you that are into really spicy foods (unlike me) might laugh at this, but I thought there was a bit of heat to the burrito. It was tough to pinpoint, but it may have come from the seasoning used for the steak or rice. Since I don't come off as unthankful, I'm going to start with the good. The taste was fine and there was plenty of cheese. Since I'm on the smaller side, I was also able to get two meals out of it. Conversely, it was messy to eat (beans and rice continuously fell out), I couldn't find any sour cream (which stinks because in theory it could have helped ameliorate the spiciness), the ratio of steak to rice is way off, and the ingredients were not evenly distributed throughout the burrito. This location never seems to have management weekday evenings or the manager is too busy in the back. No one pays attention to food stock which results in no product availability. This is a constant issue at this location. Tonight we were told it would be a 20 minute wait for brown rice. If you know the menu here you know rice is the first item you select. The only excuse for not having rice is staff is not paying attention. Will be dropping this location going forward. They really need to do better. read more

Finally after standing for 3 minutes at checkout. The girl who made my bowl realized no one was helping me. So she stopped making the food for the current customer and rang me up. Usually I'm impressed with this location. This time the rice was clumpy and the lettuce was wilted. Yesterday I picked up a pickup DoorDash order. Starting off my order said it was ready for pickup on the app, then when I come in he says "coming right up". 20-25 minutes it took him to make me my order after it already had said ready for pickup 20-25 minutes prior. In those 20-25 minutes he helped multiple lines of people with no help from coworkers that were there. Once he was done with the multiple lines of people he grabbed a drink of water (which is fine) and then flirted with a bunch of females (seemingly coworkers) instead of making my order. It was nothing work related I could hear the conversation I was close enough. During finally making the order 20-25 minutes late he was still talking to his coworkers in the back and front in-between and touching all kinds of surfaces with his gloves that he was making the order with. I just wish they wouldn't have said the order is ready for pickup online if it wasn't. Date of visit: 5/26/22 I've always been more of a Qdoba fan, but when a coworker was going away and professed his love for Chipotle, that's where we placed an order for catering for 30 people. The experience at the store did nothing to sway me to Team Chipotle. The order was not ready when I arrived a few minutes after the designated pickup time, I had to wait nearly fifteen minutes, delaying the event the food was for. There was no acknowledgment of the delay--a simple, "Sorry, we are putting the finishing touches on it so it's super fresh for you" would go a long way! I only received napkins, bowls, and utensils when I asked for them; the person that I talked to initially said, "I don't know, I didn't pack this" as though that was an acceptable answer. She probably saw the look on my face and gathered what I needed (which was promised in the confirmation email from the restaurant after placing the order). Sour cream was packaged poorly and spilled all over the box before I even got in my car (I checked to make sure that everything was there before leaving). No one asked me for my order name/number, someone else could have left with my $340 worth of food. While I am sure I was the only catering order that day, what if I (or someone else) went to the wrong store? That could be an ugly mess! While the food was very good and everyone enjoyed it thoroughly, the experience was pretty poor and especially given the price, I'm not likely to utilize Chipotle again. read more

Used to be good and filled up bowls. Recently a worker gave a half portion of guac and skimped on double meat. Although they will give all the cheese and rice you want. Talked to customer service and all they offered was a bogo, then turned into double meat for free on rewards. This doesn't help your business! Date of service was 3/9/25. I placed an order for pickup for 8:50 pm. I got a notification that my order was ready for pickup. I arrived at 8:55 and my order was not ready. I did not receive my order until 9:45pm..there were multiple people what had been waiting before and after I had got there and the restaurant was not busy inside. I have had to wait a few minutes before for orders but never have I waited that long for an order. I've always liked Chipotle over Qdoba. Especially chipotle chicken. The seasoning! And the rice! I do have a go-to menu here. Always get the burrito bowl with chicken, with tortilla on the side. And I always ask for the hot sauce on the side, so I can control it. This location is neither worse or better than others. It's just your standard Chipotle. Today, the staff was all-girl and super fast. I think they filled up my bowl in, like, 45 seconds. The only thing I didn't like with this super speed was that they got bean juice running down on one side of the bowl, and hot sauce running down on the side of the little container. Most people don't care, especially when eating in, but food or drink running down the side of my take out bowl always irritates me. Call me OCD. read more

Food is typical for the chain. Portions are tiny...did not even fill my bowl up. In order to make this a real review it must be longer, so I will say that all portions were very small. Very little meat, very little lettuce, very little cheese, half the normal guac, each and every item was roughly half what I get at any other Chipotle. After arriving home with my order I took out the food and I couldn't believe how light the bowls were. My wife opened hers and the bowl was half empty. She had ordered the steak bowl and there was hardly my steak in it at all. For $10.40 I would expect more than what she got. I opened my bowl and the bottom of the bowl was filled with a liquid and the amount in there was also not what I would expect for $13.75. Obviously already upset before we started to eat I took pictures of both bowls. In my bowl the fajita veggies weren't even cooked, food was cold. I'm sorry but it was disgusting and I threw mine away and I was missing the salsa in it. I called the restaurant direct and asked to speak to the manager and she was rude as can be. I told her of my displeasure and she stated that I can bring my bowl back and she would look at them to see if she agrees with me. Very disappointed- order on line - said it would be ready at 12:45 - got there 12:50 not ready. Showed cashier confirmation they said they didn't have order - so they told me to stand in line and tell them what I wanted - the line was 5 people deep 25 minutes later finally left. RACINE WI--5720 WASHINGTON AVE. Tonight was literally me and my family's second time eating at Chipotle and it will definitely be the last. I didn't even eat my food because I was so irritated. The employees there are highly disrespectful and inconsiderate. We were treated like trash. Our order was prepared wrong, the presentation was horrible, and we were shorted two tacos. When we went back to the door, we were told that they were now closed, so there was nothing that they could do. We were then spoken to nastily and told to open our burrito up outside in the cold during this pandemic to prove that it was made incorrectly just to be told that they weren't going to fix it. My family and I will NEVER eat here again. Afterwards, I parked in the lot of the businesses next door to make some calls and the employees then got in their cars and circled around the parking lot that I was in a few times. Very flavorful Burrito Bowl. I had the Steak and it was absolutely delicious. You get to put what you want in the bowl as far as rice and beans, lettuce, and choice of chicken, steak or ground beef. The sauces are out of this world. You can also get your burrito wrapped. There are other choices on the menu but I recommend the burrito bowl. The only complaint I have is it's pricey. read more

For a 10 dollar bowl & the gas to get there you might as well eat anywhere else. The size portions were the smallest I've encountered at any chipotle ever. I'm not sure if the manger is trying to save money or if they don't want to prep more food as often but the bowl was just about half way filled. If I could give this Chipotle 0 stars, I definitely would. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and I understand that they were very busy, but I waited about 30-40 minutes and they made my order incorrectly. They put no chicken in it, just cheese and they didn't even melt the cheese. It was just cold cheese on a tortilla. Made absolutely no sense and I didn't realize it until I got home. 5729 Washington Ave, Racine, WI. Unsafe food handling. Failure to follow basic Covid-19 guidelines. Young man on from counter had his ask around his chin and beard, leaving nose and mouth uncovered. I appreciate the mask around his bear may reduce hair falling into the food, but does nothing to stop him breathing on the food potentially spreading particulates that transmit Covid-19. Because the mask blocked his view down, he had to bend over all the food pots to look inside. Cook in prep area was not wearing his mask. Manager at register wore her mask, but whats the point, since the food is being contaminated as it is prepped and served. I thought about asking if someone else could prepare my food, then realized it wouldn't matter since he'd been breathing into the line the whole shift. Their website has all this health and safety info, and should given past issues, but this failure exposes extreme weakness in the corporate philosophy and training regarding health safety of customers as they operate under C-19 conditions. read more

I tried to call the store but no one answered, and I did not want to go back because I was already home. Got really bad food poisoning there and after complaining days later they really didnt care.

So the other parties in my group had good food however the lettuce in my bowl was slimy and rotted. The good news is the corporate office responded to me quickly because I posted the photo all over social media and the rep that called me was not impressed with the situation.
