It's honestly been years since I've had either, but I prefer Chipotle because I had it first. Back in my days at UW, my friends and I would hit up the State Street location, so it has a warm spot in my heart. The other reason I have to give the nod to Chipotle is I'm an RN and for National Nurse's Appreciation Week, Chipotle treated us with vouchers for a free burrito (granted I did need to enter a lottery). My burrito was comprised of a warm flour tortilla, juicy steak, brown rice, black beans (have to get my fiber), flavorful fajita veggies, sour cream, and extra cheese. Those of you that are into really spicy foods (unlike me) might laugh at this, but I thought there was a bit of heat to the burrito. It was tough to pinpoint, but it may have come from the seasoning used for the steak or rice. Since I don't come off as unthankful, I'm going to start with the good. The taste was fine and there was plenty of cheese. Since I'm on the smaller side, I was also able to get two meals out of it. Conversely, it was messy to eat (beans and rice continuously fell out), I couldn't find any sour cream (which stinks because in theory it could have helped ameliorate the spiciness), the ratio of steak to rice is way off, and the ingredients were not evenly distributed throughout the burrito. This is a constant issue at this location. Tonight we were told it would be a 20 minute wait for brown rice. If you know the menu here you know rice is the first item you select. The only excuse for not having rice is staff is not paying attention. Will be dropping this location going forward. They really need to do better.
