We can usually leave, eat, and be back home in under an hour, which makes it one of our go-to spots. Tonight, though, the food just wasn't quite up to its usual standard. My wife ordered the Pollo Yucatán, which she usually loves, but tonight it had too much tomato flavor and was missing the balance it normally has. I had the chicken chimichangas, which are usually a favorite of mine. Unfortunately, the flavor was lacking, and the chicken wasn't as moist or seasoned as usual. The chimichangas also could have used a little more time in the fryer to get that crispy texture we love. The rice was another letdown. It's typically delicious when it comes with the mixed vegetables, but this time it was plain and a bit bland -- maybe I just didn't get a good scoop when it was plated. We'll definitely be back because this place is usually pretty good, but tonight felt like an off night.

After reheating at home, the food itself was fine; I had corned beef & cabbage (yes, cliche) and my wife had fish & chips. We were given a basket of kettle chips around 8:30. The wait was long enough that my wife ordered a second beer (which she doesn't usually do); was a little disappointed that it wasn't comped because of the long wait. What made it worse was there were a few tables that were seated after us that got their food before us, including a party of 6 that finished, paid and left before our food even arrived. I'm willing to give the place a second chance on a different day. I get that St. Patrick's Day is probably a rough one for them. But if the kitchen is over an hour behind, that should probably be mentioned before any orders are taken.
