I have never had a bad experience at Fiesta's. The staff is always friendly. The food comes in large portions, is fresh and has excellent flavor. The prices are comparable and average for what things cost nowadays. You definitely get your moneys worth. The restaurant is brightly decorated in a happy fiesta style and I appreciate the fast service when we dine in! We dine here at least 3-4x a month! I especially enjoy weekday lunch, the lunch menu is perfect portions and options. Carry out is always ready within 15-20 min and always pipping hot! I highly recommend Fiesta Cafe! read more

Service was good. Strawberry margarita was great. Food was awful! Came in after the Mud Run at Budds Creek. We had a variety of tacos. All of them were something to be desired. The al pastor tacos had half cooked bacon in with gristled pork. The fish tacos came with sweet mayo. The chicken tacos came with gristle and no cheese. When asked for a side a cheese they charged $4. $4 for a small container of cheese!! The refried beans were thinned out with zero flavor and the rice was just ok. Definitely won't be back. I'm sorry but this place just wasn't it. Came after a Spartan race. Crab Dip was amazing as an appetizer...but then the food came. The meat and peppers in my "burrito" tasted only of oil and gristle, the shrimp was severely overcooked, the beans were sweet, and the rice was hard. I will first say the people are very accommodating. This used to be a good quick and inexpensive place for a meal but I do not recommend anymore. My husband and I both had fajitas which were ok on taste. The big issue is how filthy the place is. Food splatters on walls, cobwebs in corners, dirty baseboards, etc. The return grille was really gross. I wonder about the kitchen if the dining room looks like this. read more

This restaurant is nasty and the manager is super super rude. I order a menudo to go my husband went to pick it up. When I open the container it had a weird smell than I discovered they had send me bones with out any meat, the cow tripe was very dark looking with the exception of one piece I couldn't eat it had bad taste and un chewable throw away $23.00 worth of food. I couldn't take it back they are 40 minutes away from me. I called the restaurant asked for the owner or manager the rude guy that answers the phone said he's the manager I asked for his mane he will not give me his name. He was very rude and didn't care to hear what I had to say. He literally hang up the phone on me. Stay away from this nasty restaurant they are serving bad old food. And their attitude is very bad. I stopped here for the first time yesterday, because it was near a job site. The staff was courteous and helpful, the service was quick, the restaurant was clean, and the food was great! Fresh chips, delicious salsa (there was also a creamy dip offered that looked amazing, but I couldn't try it because of a food allergy). I got the chorizo tacos and they were perfect. First time walking into this establishment in a number of years. I am not sure why other than I live south of the base and it's quite a drive, but definitely worth the drive. The food was outstanding!! My boyfriend and I ordered the Molcajete Grande. This is served in a hot stone bowl with chicken, steak, shrimp, grilled poblanos & onions and Oaxacan cheese. It's served with fiesta guacamole, charros beans, rice, salsa verde & tortillas on the side. We also ordered a side of grilled veggies. What a feast! And more than enough food for 2-people. We even had leftovers which my BF enjoyed for breakfast :-) A small mostly carry out location with just a few tables, 6 in total (I think). A ton of activity & lots of folks picking up orders, a testament to the goodness & quality of the food. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

I love this Mexican restaurant! We order from here often (dine in and take out) and are always pleased with our food. My favorite is the taco salad with shredded chicken. They allow me to order black beans instead of retried and will put the shell on the side when I ask for a take out order. My husband always orders the shredded beef chimichanga platter. The fiesta pollo and fiesta shrimp are also delicious if you like cheese sauce. If you're craving Mexican food...this place is a MUST! read more

One of the better authentic Mexican places we have tried in Southern Maryland. It is a small restaurant that is consistently packed on weekend evenings. We had to wait for a table and while we waited they offered us drinks which was such great service! The food was also really good! Their queso was creamy with a little kick to it and the taco salad was really well seasoned. My husband ordered beef tacos with beans and rice and said he was "completely satisfied" We will be back again read more

Stopped by after we went to the Southern Maryland Amish Market. It was our first time so we were very pleasantly surprised by the food and service. The gentleman who took our order was attentive and polite. We ordered the following: - Shrimp fajita plate which consisted of one sizzling mound of shrimp and veggies on a hot plate and one large plate with rice, refried beans covered in cheese, guac, lettuce, salsa, and warm tortillas. I think it is a meal for two but my honey was so hungry, he was happy to eat all of it. - Huervos Rancheros which usually comes with two eggs (but the kind gentleman hooked me up with 3) smothered in orange sauce, the best refried beans I've ever had, and rice. Everything was great. It was the best Mexican(?) food we've had in a long time. We've recently become vegetarian (but we eat seafood when we travel). The food was so good that you won't miss the meat. TIP: Try their "white sauce" that comes with the chips and salsa. It's so good that they should bottle it. read more

Fiesta is the best Mexican restaurant in St. Mary's County. The wait staff are friendly and attentive, always quickly bringing drink refills, as well as more chips and salsa. The portions are incredible, especially the appetizer Fiesta! Guacamole and the queso dip, which are both HUGE! The pricing is great, and the lunch menu really demonstrates this. The interior is very small, but it never feels too packed inside the restaurant. It isn't too loud, and there's always Spanish-language music playing at a low enough volume to both appreciate/hear as well as carry on a conversation (not that I can ever do that, as I'm too busy inhaling the queso dip!). In addition to the food, the dessert fried ice cream is one of the best things I have ever eaten. Fiesta has delicious, inexpensive food at great portion sizes with wonderful service and a fun atmosphere. I would go every day if I could! read more

We've eaten here often --- and am always impressed and pleased with the staff and food. We usually order one of the specials or the 'pick three' meals --- we learned early on that we could share a meal because the servings are so generous. We ordered the larger meal today --- grilled chicken, steak, shrimp --- again large meal, we shared, and brought some home for later. The people who run the restaurant are of zero help and don't care. A simple order of tacos With steak and cheese only was far from it when I got home. The tacos had some kind of spicy sauce (sour cream mix?) on it that was disgusting. I live 30 minutes away and called to let Them know what happened and to just refund the card because it wasn't what I ordered. they said no that I could drive 30 minutes up the road and 30 mins back to get the $10. we spent almost $70 on food (not the cheapest place) and it's kinda bad they won't refund the card when they admit it wasn't what I ordered. read more

Tasty, cheap, and probably the best mexican food in Mechanicsville. The Chipotle shrimp are awesome, but the ground beef is a little bland, so stick with the chicken or shredded beef instead. I was very pleasantly surprised By the quality of desserts! read more

I usually don't leave reviews but honestly, I had to... I'm so sorry but I will never go back to this place. The customer service was ok but the food? Not so much. We ordered take out - carne asada + a kids meal. My mistake was not checking the food before we left. The meat was pretty much raw + it had a raw meat odor (if that makes sense). In addition, it had no flavor AT ALL. I had to pretty much turn on my stove and cook it myself!! The plate came with beans (ok), rice (ok), guac (tasted old), and pico de gallo (lacked flavor + looked old). Kids meal - it was ok. How I haven't heard about Fiesta Cafe by word a mouth is beyond me, because it's so good! Moved here from Tucson, so there is my frame of reference for you. First, the service was slow as snot, our drinks ran out three times and we had to flag another server over a couple of times to get them refilled. Another group came in after us and had their food before our INITIAL drink order made it out. The place is a "hole in the wall", which is normally a great sign for the food.....so I am VERY forgiving of a lack of ambiance.....this lack it. Now, the important part....the food. I ordered a chicken chimi, enchilada style. The portions were relatively small, the chicken was dry, the enchilada sauce was applied sparingly, and the burrito wasn't fried as long as it should have been (the meager serving of enchilada sauce made this more obvious). I could go on about the food for the other five members of the family. I had been told this was the best Mexican food in Maryland. I am not excited about the other prospects. read more

My husband and I ordered takeout here once, and will not be back. We both ordered chimichangas that looked very old, as if they'd sat out all day and been reheated more than once. Also, there was remnants of a sauce on them that didn't seem to go with the rest of the dish or was part of the menu item description. It looked as if it had been taken from another dish of food and placed in my to-go container. It didn't look right AT ALL. As I was trying to decide whether I should even risk trying it (since I did pay for it and make the trip all the way to the restaurant and back), I lucked out by discovering a RAW piece of chicken in my re-fried beans. Needless to say, I cautiously forced down some chips n salsa, but no dinner. Waste of money, time, food, and what should have been perfectly good dinner. And this place had good reviews, too! This is such a small place that nobody would ever imagine that it's amazing. Truly a hidden gem. It started off as the best kept little secret, but word soon got out about some of the best Mexican food in the entire DC area. Which is surprising since Mechanicsville is by no means with DC city limits. Fiesta's has a capacity of maybe 75 people MAX and virtually no vestibule/waiting area so when it gets crammed it really gets crammed. However-the food makes up for it. Their chips and queso is the bomb. I can eat a whole basket by myself before the waiter even comes over. Their fajitas come out steaming hot and are seasoned perfectly, I recommend the steak. Phenomenal. Fiesta Pollo is a chicken and rice dish that's also to die for. My brother always gets the burrito which puts Chipotle to shame-and he loves Chipotle so that's telling you something. What's the most amazing about this place isn't the fact that the food is awesome or that the prices are so incredible (they are), the food comes out SO FAST. It can be a packed house on a Friday night and food hits the table somehow in less than 10 minutes-often faster. Piping hot and they never do that dance around the table asking "who ordered the fajitas?". They just know. This goes a long way with tips for me. Standard bar fare here, although the strawberry margs are my personal favorite when ordering mexican. Blended perfectly and you don't get an overwhelming taste of tequila. Strong too for the $6 or so bucks. Love coming here because you know the food will be amazing and there will definitely be extras for later! This is a great new Mexican Restaurant right in the middle of Mechanicsville, next to the Wonder Bread outlet store, on the right in the Southbound lane. It's a small, family owned business that does about a 50/50 business between carryout and dine in. We've eaten there about a half dozen times, and it is just wonderful! The food is very good, and the prices are very reasonable. One dish I had recently was the Chipoltle Shrimp. This was so good I swear I wanted to stand up and holler to the other diners in the place that they had to try this!! It was that good! Try it, I don't believe you'll be disappointed. You won't have to drive to Waldorf or Lexington Park for Mexican food, and if you want carryout, it's right on your way home. Try it! read more
