It is not easy to compete with the enormous amount of Spanish food restaurants you can find in NYC. But Chipotle is one of the places I wanted to try for a long time. So last weekend we had a chance to visit here after spending couple hours at the race track. First: The line of people waiting for food. I was starving, so for me that was the worst thing to see how many people are standing before me. Second: The place, little too dark for my taste, I t could be fine if it was night, but it was the middle of the day. The space: Big and crowded. Glad to see that Chipotle has come to the area. I wasn't exactly sure where it was located - Cross County is such a maze! The line was 38 deep but kept moving. Quality control and efficiencies were present. Lots of chicken being cooked and diced in the background. 3 or 4 people making the menu items to order and sliding them down to a cashier. Typical Chipotle. A little bit of a wait. Not many places to sit, maybe only seating for 30. A good place for grab and go after the movies or grocery shopping. We just came from Kay Jewelry store around the corner where we re-exchanged the vows and got new wedding rings for me and my wife and came to celebrate it at Chipotle here at Cross County Shopping Center. The staff were super nice and manager approved a free burrito bowl for us. It was very nice gesture and excellent customer service! If I was rating Chipolte's taste, quality and price I would give them all 5 stars. This restaurant however is so impossibly overcrowded all the time that I cannot bring myself to wait the 20 minutes it takes to get through the line. So many people walk in, see the line and immediately leave. If you do finally get through the line there are very few seats. The layout is so ridiculous that where ever you sit, people are constantly bumping you and standing over you trying to wind through the line. Also the bathrooms were a horror show. read more

I kept hearing about Chipotle from my friends who lived all over the country about how awesome it was. Unfortunately, the only Chipotle near me was in the city, and I didn't have time to go there. However, after I heard about the reconstruction of Cross County and the addition of Chipotle, I was beyond excited. Finally, I could brag along with my friends that I have tried the "holy grail" of fresh Mexican. I was pretty happy to find that everything here is pretty much fresh and organic. Once I got there, the lines was literally out the door! This was no surprise since the place is not even a year old. Plus, the service was extremely fast, so the line wasn't really all that much of a wait. At the worst, 10-15 minutes. But it is worth the wait for the amazing food! The staff made it easy for me to understand the ordering process since there is like 3-4 different people making my food and one can easily become confused. Plus, I was able to see all the food being prepped behind the counter, so I could tell these guys were no joke when it came to fresh food. Since I'm a Muslim, I eat only Halal food, so I had to go with the vegetarian option. And let me tell you, it tastes amazing! Meat or not, Chipotle's food is off the hook! The guacamole had a huge profile, and was added for free since I had no meat in my bowl, and the beans were amazing! The reason I took one star away(really it should be 4.5), was because, even though it was easy for me to order the food, for others, it can easily become a confusion. Plus, the staff might rush you since the lines are so long, so trying to ask a specific question could be a bit annoying. I suggest pre-ordering on their website and then going down to the place, since that way, you cut the whole line. Will go here for lunch quite a bit. read more

It's Chipotle, if you've been to one you know what to expect. The line at this location is insane on the weekends. The first time my fiance and I went we left, we decided to stick it out this time. He had never been and I figured the 90+ degree weather was the perfect excuse to grab some margaritas. The line was hellish and there was absolutely no seating. They should really open a location on Central Avenue, it would alleviate the long lines. The food was decent. Nothing amazing, but it's fresh and the location is clean. I always feel bad for the people trying to eat at the high top tables across from the counter, it has to be the most uncomfortable eating arrangement, as the crowd encompasses the entire area. For the area this location is located at I would've expected much more. Once I walked inside I felt dirty. Food on the tables where you eat, on the floor, and the area where they prepare food was even messy. I was hesitant to eat there but I did. Food was good, I was just forced to eat in the car. I've ordered from here a few times using uber eats and the food is good no complains but today i accidentally made my order a burrito when i wanted a bowl and it's a small problem so i tried calling the store to ask them just to fix that up since it's the same price and they did not pick up! I walked in there was literally 5 people online, I waited nearly 20 min to order after finally ordering there was no steak so my rice in beans were covered and I was informed steak was being cut, after waiting 10 minutes I asked about the steak I was informed again it's being cut, I looked on the grill and saw no steak so I asked again where is the steak, I noticed several orders awaiting steak being put to the side but still no steak cut, finally my plate returned with steak but still no trace of a replenished pan if steak, this should have been my time to reject the bowl but I didn't because my son really wanted it. We get home literally 3 mins away to a rice bowl with old cold tuff steak, I swear this location never has fresh readily prepared food, workers are always socializing and service is extremely slow, it's awful and something needs to be done. read more

I understand that restaurants occasionally run out of supplies. With that being said, I came in on a thursday night to order a bowl, little to my knowledge they ran out of bowls. I used to come to this Chipotle all the time. Last night will definitely be my last time. I found not one but TWO strands of long brown hair in my food. I am absolutely disgusted. Came here yesterday ordered 2 bowls with lite hot sauce like I always do but this sauce was so hot we couldn't even eat it! I tried my best and I like spicy food. When I woke up in the morning with stomach pains.tried to call store to complain no answer. Terrible customer service. I placed an online order today for a chicken bowl, with added guacamole and other items online for in store pick-up. When I arrived home, I find that while being charged for the guacamole, I did not receive any. I called the store and spoke to Helen who told me I need to check my order the next time and refused to provide any further assistance. I then spoke to the general manager, Saul Paulino, who stated that he could not offer any refunds and that I would need to spend more of my money on gas and time to drive 15 minutes back to the store to get a refund. I then spent 30 minutes trying to navigate the corporate website under the "talk to us" menu only to discover that there is no customer service numbers or any interactive method of communication. read more

The food is good but why does employee act like they are doing us a favor when we pick the food from online orders? They had the food on the floor. And about 10 people outside waiting for their order. For 2 hours! When I asked the lady who was handling it, she started off with a very nasty tone saying "it is what it is". When I kept saying, the app says it's ready, she says "it will say what it's gonna say". This unprofessional attitude got me so mad that I backed off. But I didn't want her to get away with such an attitude. So I came back and asked her "Am I going to get my food or not?" She responds saying she didn't like my tone. I come here very often. I absolutely love chipotle! My only problem with this location is how rushed everyone is. I remember a couple years back I tried to ask if the had any "back to school deals", like most stores would, but the lady just kept screaming "WHAT?" to me and eventually I just told her I wanted a rice bowl after attempting to tell her the same thing about 20 times. The food is overall good. I truly don't have a problem with their food.BUT it's like the try and punish you every time you order online. I live about 15mins away so I order online to pickup. it's always the wrong order. If I order a burrito they give me a bowl(I only order burritos) I order chicken and steak with rice and it will be 90%rice and very little meat. Their is no way for me to check until I get home and take a bite... but ya the food is good I just wish I could get WHAT I ACTUALLY PAID FOR. 3* is generous. read more
