It was well coated with chipotle mayo and spices. The fried plantains were soft and cut a little too thick, but still tasty. They have a signature taco style, the taco loco, which features a flour tortilla and melted cheese wrapped around a hard corn tortilla shell. I tried one with refried beans and it was great. The shells were nicely filled with ingredients for a satisfying bite. The guacamole was fresh and served with a generous portion of chips. I have only purchased through Uber Eats from the last year. This month, I decided to go visit the restaurant in person to get a feel of the ambiance. The restaurant is a cute spot with plenty of space. I came in during a slow hour for in-person dining, and I got serviced by two lovely ladies. Each of them were attentive but not standing on top of me most of the service. I got the Westside Burrito with Guac. The Guac came fresh as one of the ladies made it next to my table based on my desires. I loved that! It's one of my favorite parts of Mexican restaurant culture. In an attempt to support a local business, we placed an online order to be delivered by the LMC - a place that we have gone to many times in the past and were elated to have again. When they beat the time estimate for delivery, we were impressed and excited to have an excellent meal. However, the associate that answered said that she couldn't help us, the manager wasn't there, and she had to reach out to them and get back to us...then promptly hung up. Weirdly, she didn't get our contact info, so I have no clue how she's going to get back to us. So, to recap, we got the wrong order, got bounced around trying to fix it, got our calls screened, and then a rude lack of help. Those of us who have lived in New Rochelle for many years may remember this place as a Chinese restaurant and I believe the same owner has transformed this spot to meet the needs of a changing demographic... and so happy we are that they did! The food is authentic Mexican, plates piled high with huge portions. The tasty deal here is the mini taco sampler platter. This includes 5 different varieties including carnitias, chicken, and chorizo. Quite filling if combined with a side of rice and beans or even fried plantains which are never found in a Mexican restaurant. The décor is plain with a few pictures of Mexican revolutionaries including the required Pancho Villa and Zapata coupled with Christmas lights that seem to be typical of many local Mexican restaurants. There are big groups of 20 or 30-somethings enjoying margaritas but the noise level was rather pleasant even though every table was occupied. The bar area on the left was a little mysterious full of locals, mostly men. It was dark and the only woman present in this area was a statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Remember that she appeared to a young man as an apparition many years ago. outside of Mexico City. I think she is still watching over some of her followers...its just on Main Street. First time visiting this place. Our server was very pleasant I hope to run into her again. We ordered guacamole, the mini taco sampler, and a cemita con carnitas. The guacamole was not to disappoint full of fresh ingredients and chunky just the way I like it- we also received it free for checking in through yelp :) SCORE. The salsa was also great with fresh cilantro and onions. The mini taco sampler was divine all of the meats are seasoned to perfection and the sauces were delicious and spicy. My friend ordered a cemita it was a great sandwich so delicious and fresh- filling as well- she took half home. For dessert the tres leche cake was very moist and I recommended. We also ordered the fried ice cream because the presentation is just fab but the taste was eh- the ice cream is wrapped in corn flakes and rum is poured on top- then lit on fire to which cinnamon is added, whip cream and chocolate sauce. I am a lover of ice cream but was disappointed in the taste as much of the rum is pooled on the bottom and the corn flakes have that burnt taste to it. I've been a customer of this place for many years so it's unfortunate I have to leave this review after the way I was treated tonight. I placed an order through ubereats and typically I can add "no tomato" to the order but tonight I couldn't so I had my husband call the restaurant immediately to let them know (he is also allergic). At first the lady who answered was extremely rude and said it was almost there. How? If we JUST clicked order. So I let her know to please not add tomatos to which she replied okay and that was that. The order arrives. It's missing my tres leches entirely and of course, there are tomatos on the order. I called to speak to a manager when I heard her begin to tell him what happened... I waited and she hung up on me. I called back three times each time she picked up and hung up. I will be putting in a claim with ubereats for this because he couldn't eat his meal and of course my dessert was missing. Be mindful of the way food is prepared people can get sick. Also, treat your customers who are paying $50+ during these times better. I'll be taking my money elsewhere where I am not treated this way! read more

Can't tell you how disappointed I was in my delivery order on 6/17. Not only did they not have any specials, they had no calamari either. Not a big deal, I chose a taco salad with beef. What WAS a big deal is that the food came an hour and 45 minutes later. Such a great little restaurant. They have both a bar and dining area, however I have only sat on the dining side. Small, but well decorated and each table has plenty of room. They have various deals throughout the week; Taco Tuesday being my favorite ($.99 tacos!). Their drinks are always good and well worth it. I also have nothing but good things to say about the food. Definitely get the freshly made guacamole. It's so delicious and someone comes to your table to make it to your liking. Prices are very fair and service is good. The delivery and food was a huge disappointment.The taco salad was completely unappetizing to look at. It did not have any actual salad/greens in it. It was beans, and chicken in a small, wet taco shell. Just the smallest amount of wet and wilted shredded taco lettuce, saturated with liquid black beans. Unacceptable for a restaurant to serve this as a salad. The tamales also arrived looking like total a mess, and inedible. I am very disappointed, but I just can't eat food that looks like this. I ordered delivery while it was snowing and it came in 45 mins. The delivery driver was super nice too. My favorite thing I ordered was the Tacos Loco which is basically a good version of Taco Bell's cheesy Gordita crunch. It's an al pastor taco wrapped in a soft and hard shell. It's awesome. We got here around 5:30 and sat at the bar, they have a separate bar area and a dining area on the other side, overall it is a pretty large space. Our bartender was ok, she seemed a little confused about the specials and told us we would have to pay more than 99 cents each but when we questioned her she backtracked, we each had beer on tap, I had modelo negra and my fiancé had corona light, we were provided with salsa and chips which was homemade and good! We ordered a variety of tacos 10 total, all were good and came with some sauces, we enjoyed all of them but they were tiny, still at 99 cents each I couldn't complain, I would consider coming back here for a sit down meal but honestly can't say I was blown away by anything read more
