Nothing great Thai food and satisfied appetites coming from this joint. Nice cozy little restaurant that, I feel, does not have the credit it deserves. A friend from school told me about them about a year ago and finally we decided to go. It's right off Victory drive past Whole Foods so you don't have to deal with parking troubles, paying to park, or any of the downtown madness you can have at times. It's tucked away and rather hidden so make sure you don't miss it! Walking in the first thing I saw was the 2019 Best Connect Savannah plaque for best Thai food so I was definitely assured we were at the right place then! We started with a small cup of Tom Ka. Never had this before so I have nothing to compare it to, all I know is that it was delicious, packed with flavor, and I wouldn't be upset if I had this every day of my life. Very sweet flavors with hints of lemongrass. For dinner we chose the Pad Thai (bc it looked amazing) and I took the recommendation in the Massaman curry. I'm a biggg curry guy so of course I was going to try theirs. I was assured that it was made from scratch and not a premade processed paste like some places use (you can tell a difference), and it was clear that they made their own. It tasted fabulous. Great flavors all around, mostly sweet and nutty. I wouldn't have complained for the spice to be a little more but I think she was trying to accommodate for my fiancé's palate more than mine lol. Their Pad Thai was top notch. I think it's the best I've tried in Savannah thus far. Once again just full of flavors and each bite just makes you crave more! I really enjoyed my meal here, and look forward to coming back! Right away our server was very friendly and attentive, and was great throughout the rest of our meal keeping our drinks full and bringing out our food and clearing our plates promptly. The food itself is delicious, we started with the summer rolls and Tom kha soup, both very fresh and delicious, very true to the classic style of both dishes. They looked so good I forgot to get a photo! For the entrees we tried the House special noodle and the green curry. The green curry was very good, creamy with a nice aromatic flavor, the vegetables were crisp and fresh and the beef was tender. I asked the server and the flowers are orchids and they are edible, though I didn't try it this visit. The house special noodle was very much a comfort food, being warm and savory. The noodles were like ramen noodles that had been stir fried with the veggies and tofu. The tofu was fried and so had a nice firm and crispy shell. First time experience was heavenly. I have only tried Thai food once before. I am completely unfamiliar with the food. I could not of had a better first time experience. I ordered a cup of Tom Ka soup. My friend got the Tom Yum soup. I tasted hers which was a rich broth with a spicy pepper after taste. My Tom Ka was a coconut base broth with Rich complex flavor. I ordered the Phad Thai noodles with tofu. It was lemony in a wonderful way. Just a delight with every bite. My friend ordered the basil chicken and it had a rich savory sauce. Save you money!!! Worst fake Thai food I've ever had. I ordered the $15 beef salad and it was romaine lettuce and with a few little slices of some weird beef and it was saturated in dressing. The garlic chicken was bland and again a small portion for the price. It also had string beans in it? We ordered shrimp Thai fried rice and it came out with chicken and shrimp and was super mushy!! I can't believe people rated this place good. I now don't trust people taste in authentic Thai food from these reviews. Go to PJ's Thai corner it Ruan. This is one of best Thai restaurant I have been to. Located in not so popular area, but the food is worth the drive to this part of the town. I see most people were ordering it to go but I decide to enjoy my food there. Drinks: I order the iced Thai tea which comes topped with whip cream. It's delicious but if you don't like too much sugar, omit the whip cream. Appetizer: We ordered summer rolls which were really good, comes with peanut sauce. They were made fresh, one plate comes with two rolls, which is good size to share. Soup: the coconut based soup with chicken, #2 on the menu (can't remember the name), is delicious. If you are a coconut fan, you definitely need to try this. It's good on a cold winter day or actually any day. Entree: We decided to share the pineapple curry with pork, definitely recommend it. The portion size of everything here is great. All this food was a little more than enough for two of us. The service as well as the servers are great. The parking lot is a bit small. We got seated right away but waited 5-10 min with no one came over to ask us anything. Fine, no big deal. We got the chicken satay appetizer, tomyum soup, thai fried rice and drunken noodle. Let me tell you this meal gives me 2 surprises: 1/ tomyum soup has lots of ginger in it. I've eaten at many thai restaurants but this is a first. I dont particularly like ginger but i can tolerate it. There was a lot and i feel like i was drinking ginger soup, not tomyum. The sweet and sour flavor is there but very little. The ginger smell overpower all of them. We agree that it's a hearty and warm ginger soup. So if you're looking for that tangy and sweet taste of the usual tomyum and dont like ginger, avoid this. It's not bad, it's just not what i usually have 2/ drunken noodle has coconut milk in it. Should have know when the server said it's "creamy" but again, i didnt expect it. It was good but i got tired of it after a while cause the coconut milk makes it really creamy. Like a thai verson of alfredo lol again, not bad but watch out My boyfrien's thai fried rice with shrimp was alright. The shrimp and rice ratio was good but there wasnt that much rice so lol for $16.99 i feel like portions should be bigger. Same for mine. Chicken satay is tender but not the best i had. Overall i have to rate this meal "decent" i'd prefer my usual tomyum and drunken noodle style but yeah not bad, but no great ? Service was good except for the beginning. read more

I love coming here! I used to come once a week. I've only tried a few things on the menu, but I've never been disappointed by anything I've tried. The Thai tea is good, but as another reviewer said, the whipped cream wasn't needed. I most get the Pad Thai. Sometimes I switch up the meats and get shrimp or tofu, but I mostly stick with chicken. The shrimp that come with it are jumbo and there's definitely quite a few that come with it. You can adjust your spice levels, which is nice. I don't typically go further than medium spice because I always ask for the spice rack, which comes with sriracha and chili paste. Parking can be a tricky situation as their lot is small, but there is a business next door that never seems to get much business, and I've never had a problem parking on their side. The restaurant itself is larger on the inside than it seems. It is quite dark inside so if you have trouble reading in the dark, I'd probably suggest a small flashlight. It is decorated very nice inside. The front side has more booths, while the upper area on the side has tables. read more

Came here based on the reviews and expected to have at least decent Thai food. Most of our food was edible, not good, but one thing we ordered was crispy duck which was completely inedible. The duck was just OLD, REALLY OLD. After the food was brought to our table, the waitress avoided our table like the plague. She didn't even bring us our check and had someone else bring it over to us so clearly she knew. When we brought the issue to the other person's attention, she attempted to rectify it but came back to our table and said the chef wouldn't remove the charge from our check. We're visiting from S. Florida so maybe this place is what passes for good Thai food around here, but my advice would be to avoid this place and go to one of the other Thai restaurants in the area. read more

This is probably one of my favorite lunch spots in Savannah. Not only is the food delicious, and the service great, but it's a super comfortable spot for solo diners. I've eaten lunch here three or four times, each time ordering something different off of their menu. So far I've stuck to the Thai dishes on the menu, although they also have Hawaiian dishes that I'm looking forward to trying on future visits. My favorites so far have been: Tom Yum Soup with chicken (entree size) - all the goodness, flavor, and heat you expect from Tom Yum, and so much that you can take it home for dinner. Today I had Panang Curry with chicken - it had a lovely flavor and subtle heat - perfect portion for lunch. We have ordered from here twice. We ordered take out for the first time several months ago & the food was satisfying. We felt the price for the portion was a bit inflated. Last week we did a pick up order & the food was not good. My husband ordered a noodle dish & I had pad Thai. We both felt our food had the lingering flavor of melted plastic. After getting our food the server did not check up on us even once. It was sad because the food was absolutely delicious. Regardless of the service I will still be going back for more! I had the Thai iced tea which was absolutely delicious. For appetizers I had the chicken satay and let me tell you it was most juicy and flavorful chicken satay I've ever had. BIG portions, quality food, friendly service...it's a home-run! My friend and I ordered one dish each, pad thai and a curry, and we discovered that we could've just shared ONE dish because we ate ourselves to the brim and still had to pack up a ton of food. It tasted just as good for lunch the next day. The tom kha soup was delicious, such a unique flavor. The pad thai was very vinegary and strongly flavored. It had a good texture and consistency, not too dry nor too watery. I loved the fried tofu pieces as they were cut small. The yellow curry is great for those who can't handle spicy. Anyway, if you're traveling with a girlfriend and both of you are healthy/light eaters, just share ONE dish unless you want leftovers the next day (which works too!) Just be aware that pork, chicken, and tofu are the same price, but if you ask to "mix" any of those, they WILL add a $2 charge for each dish. I thought that was the only thing that was unfair and kind of threw me off. It's not like we're asking for extra, it's just mixing the two kinds of protein that were priced at the same price...and we were not warned about it either. I was looking for a nice Thai place to eat in Savannah, Georgia and I stumbled upon this wonderful place right after a trip to St. Simons island. I was pleasantly greeted by a kind server who allowed me to take a seat at the bar as I placed my to-go order for a Pad Thai. They provided me water while I waited and I was pleased with the customer service. My Pad Thai arrived in a timely manner, piping hot with delicious green onions, peanuts, etc. The sauce wasn't insanely sweet, but had just the right amount of tanginess to it. I would say it's one of the better Pad Thai I have had during my lifetime. I also washed it down with a Thai Tea and asked that there would be no whipped cream added to it. They complied and I enjoyed my tea. It was absolutely wonderful. Additionally, the ambiance was nice as it's somewhat dark with asian vibes with their decor. Lovely. (Especially if you're taking a significant other out!) I was treated very well and I really enjoyed the fusion of Thai and Hawaiian cuisine. read more

I really enjoyed the spring rolls, tom yum soup, and pad Thai. Also, you know when you go to restaurants and tell the server you want your dish spicy and they're like yeah no problem, but their version of "spicy" is like here are two red pepper flakes? That shit is annoying. You won't have that problem here. I asked for hot and they delivered. I love love love spicy food and normally eat it no problem, but man, I had to take serious breaks between bites. The owner went to Kapiolani on Oahu for their culinary program (per the website)and it shows in their dishes. I tried the Hawaiian Ice Tea and it was addicting. The ginger really made it delicious. My husband ordered the chicken pad thai and I ordered my yellow curry. We did indulge in summer rolls which really hit the spot. I haven't had decent yellow curry since living in Hawaii Kai on Oahu.
