They have fun Hawaiian themed and surfing décor throughout the interior. The employees were all very friendly and helpful. I asked about the gluten free options for poké bowls, and the employee told me all their ingredients are gluten free except for the crispy toppings and fried items. I ordered the small Pipeline poké bowl and it was plenty for lunch. All of the ingredients were very fresh and the rice was perfectly cooked. The poke bowl is massive. It was so full of fish and toppings. I should've turned it into two meals but instead ate the whole thing and was uncomfortably full, very much my own fault. The toppings were all delicious but I especially liked both the sweet and spicy sauces that were heavily applied. The spam musubi was just ok as it felt like a LOT of rice to me. Terrific across the board. My husband said his poke bowl was the BEST he has ever had and if Al's Aloha Kitchen was in the town we lived in, he'd eat there every single day. Came here for both a poke bowl and an açaí bowl. My poke bowl was pretty good and good quality. Their tuna is a homemade recipe that is not very spicy at all but still good. I had the Pipeline and was overall satisfied but they might be pricing just a bit over what's fair. The açaí bowl I had unfortunately was a disappointment as it was mostly toppings. Building your own is limited to 2 toppings and 2 fruit choices, but the most important part, the açaí, was most disappointing as there was not much served in it. Stopped in Al's Aloha Kitchen for a quick dinner after reaching Hilton Head from Savannah. Obviously, in comparison to real poke in Hawaii, it's not even close. But compared to other Make-Your-Own poke spots in NYC, it's not that great either. I hate that toppings that would otherwise be included in the freebies section was an extra charge - like seaweed salad. I also thought their included toppings were just a bit lackluster in selection. The menu is quite customizable and includes both the poke bowl, which has plenty of customization options and more than just tofu for the vegetarian selection. They also do juices and smoothie bowls. I went for a salad bowl with a few vegetables and a lemon miso dressing that amply delivered on flavor. I was not wowed by the portion size for the price, even accounting for a beach island premium. You know that great feeling when you buy an iPhone and they no longer include a charger? Ready to experience that same thrill but with Poke? The fish isn't included! Look closely at that menu when you walk in and notice that a Poke bowl doesn't include fish if you make your own. It includes rice and toppings but not the key ingredient which makes Poke...Poke! We still got a large bowl of poke, which was fine. I added a picture, but you can't see the fish beneath the sauce. It was not a large portion, but the flavors were passable. I also had an acai bowl, which was very nice. Good fruits and a balance but lacking some tartness. They also hard freeze the acai blend, which makes me think that delivery is the way to go. Dining in left me chipping away chunks to suck on throughout the dinner. Decent. But 2 stars for being the used car dealership version of Poke. read more

I've lived in the area for 5 years and heard this place has good poke bowls. I decided to give it a try this weekend with my son and was very disappointed. I ordered two build your own poke bowls. The portion size of protein was comical at barely a quarter cup. What wasn't comical was the price. We dropped over $40 for 2 bowls of mainly rice and lettuce. On our way home we stopped at fresh market to pick up a few things and they had poke bowls that looked much better for $13! Live and learn. read more
