After buying a new appliance from Grand, we decided to walk up to the next block and check this place out. So glad that we did! We started out with guacamole ( which was was little lime forward, but good) then we ordered the chicken enchiladas verde and the Chimichangas (one steak , one chicken). TBH I am usually disappointed by steak anything lately (often times grisly or tough), but the steak here was tender and had a nice smoky char, while the chicken was moist. They also gave a generous dollop of sour cream and guac on each perfectly fried chimichanga. The horchata was also very good. Perfect balance of sweet and cinnamony - without overpowering. Hot sauce dip is milder than the pico but good. Chips nice airy, light, and crispy. Enchiladas suizas con green sauce- 3 chicken enchiladas with balanced flavor and reasonable meat amount. The salsa verde es muy favorable. The rice and beans were also good. Service- very welcoming and kind. I had the pleasure of having less people in the place. Music wasnt too loud. TV was playing fútbol (soccer). I liked that the tables arent on top of each other as it allows for more private conversations depending on the individuals. I've only been to this place once but I vividly remember the experience because it was really good! The food was very tasty and the service was high quality at least during me and my family's visit. The only reason I wouldn't rate this place higher is because of the aesthetics. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with the place it just didn't have anything over the top visually which in this instance resulted in a one star reduction, but is a very solid restaurant and one I would definitely still recommend to family and friends! read more

Usually I'm very satisfied when ordering here, unfortunately this was probably the most disappointing meal I've had here. I hope it's a one off and not the direction of the restaurant because it's always been one of my favorite places in town. Today my meal was bland, where normally it's very tasty! Also I left as soon as I hung up ordering. It's only a 5 minute drive, but the meal was done and in the bag when I arrived. Sadly, it was cold by the time I got home. The final disappointment would have to be with the amount of sour cream and guacamole I received with the burrito dinner. It was enough for one or two bites at most. Have ordered takeout several times. We have enjoyed tacos, enchiladas and burritos from this restaurant. Our favorite is the steak tacos. Very tasty and tender steak. Very good rice and beans too. This was a great place to stop in Forest Park. We'd been driving around checking out houses for a few hours and had worked up an appetite. At the time we were there, it was very quiet (only a couple other parties were in the restaurant whilst we were there), but they had lots of take out orders during that time. We started off with some chips and salsa. The salsa was REALLY good. Both of them had some heat to them, and the green in particular seemed to build nicely. I really liked both of them but the tomato-based salsa probably was my favorite of the two if I had to make a choice. I also ordered a margarita; I was going to try the peach margarita, but of the three flavors offered (strawberry, peach, and lime) only the lime is made on the rocks and that's what I prefer. It was a great margarita. Sadly, they don't offer sopes and gorditas can be a bit overstuffed and messy so I ended up ordering fajitas. The fajitas were really good and the portions were very large. This is probably where my main complaint comes in. Both of us ordered fajitas, and they brought us out the tortillas of course, but unless I stuffed my fajitas so full I couldn't eat them easily we didn't really get enough fajitas to eat them all. Perhaps they expect people will not have as large an appetite as we did that day, and folks will take them home and heat them up with their own tortillas. But for two orders of their fajitas, I think initially we got six tortillas total for two orders. We asked for additional tortillas twice more since we needed them to continue our meal, and they charged us a least once. Do they really only provide three tortillas for that much fajita? I think they also charged us for the additional chips we asked for, so be aware that the second helping is not free. Still, it was good and the service was great. I liked our server a lot. They don't have dedicated parking and since this is on Madison (toward the Des Plaines Ave end) parking could definitely be tricky when the area is hopping but it was easy for us this day. I don't think it's free parking, though (we were there on Sunday so we didn't pay that day) so make sure to feed the meter/app. read more

I really enjoyed the food. I love the Quesa birria tacos. It had the right ratio between cheese and meat. It was spicy but the right amount of flavor when you dip it in the consommé. Chirrion was so good. I came here with a friend. We got there right around 6pm on a Monday, so we were able to be seated right away. It definitely filled up pretty quickly afterwards! I loved that we got two different salsas with the complimentary chips. One was more of a medium red salsa and the other was a pico de gallo. I asked if there was a hot salsa, and our server kindly brought us a hot green salsa - it was delicious. For dinner, I ordered the steak burrito dinner. Even though I couldn't have cheese or sour cream with it due to dietary restrictions, I thought the burrito was well made and the right amount of all the ingredients. Adding the hot green salsa to the burrito made it that much better. I love that it came with guacamole and rice & beans. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying some other things. The food was decent and the prices were reasonable. i ordered the chicken Chimichangas two deep fried mini-burritos topped with guacamole. Served with rice, beans, lettuce, and tomato for $12.95. I have been meaning to try this place for some time and am really happy I did. I think the Chirrion Grill is going to be a staple on the Madison Avenue/Forest Park dining scene and it's because the food tastes great. There is a ton of street parking and you can park on side streets as well. If you're coming from the City, you could easily take the blue line and walk over. It's probably a few block walk from the blue line station. The food here is good... really good....like I'm planning on going back soon good. My girlfriend got a pork burrito and I got a steak torta. Both items were terrific. I would order that torta again all day and twice on Sunday. The next time we dine here, we may eat in because the Sangria looks incredible. The prices are a tad on the high end, but let's be real, you get what you pay for. Great food, friendly employees and a great location. We will definitely come back!!! read more

In the area and this was the closest to where we where. The pictures look nice and when we arrived it was dead inside and the place had a funky smell. My kids weren't having it but it went away or maybe we got used to it for the ten minutes. We got complimentary chips and salsa. Then we ordered drinks and they only carry a few jarritos flavors no pineapple. The horchata water is good. They have a few tv's in the small inside of the restaurant. The waitress was nice and was on top of being us drinks. My wife got the steak fajitas and when it came out holly green peppers and tomatoes. There wasn't much steak but green peppers and tomatoes dam. The beans and rice where really good. The meat was very chewy but it was bland. My sons order steak tacos which where okay they had more flavor. I got a steak,chorizo,marinated pork tacos. The steak was okay nothing special.
