I came here last night with my boyfriend for Valentine's Day. I was super excited because we often pass by this place. Unfortunately, we were kind of let down by the service. They were definitely not prepared for the crowd of couples. A few minutes after we sat down, a waitress who was not ours came by and asked if we had ordered already. We said no, thinking that she would help get us started. Instead, she took my boyfriend's menu to hand to her table. This left a bad impression on us. Food wise, it was delicious and all food came out in a timely manner. They were being pretty strict about only being seated for 1.5 hours max due to the rush. Our waitress was fine, checked in on us in a timely manner. I love the interior design of this place, and it looks really nice in their patio. I don't think I'll be coming back though, at least not during any nights I know it'll be crowded. read more

The ambience to this restaurant is nice. The food was good. I had the baby back rib and my partner had a pasta dish. We also ordered bruschetta and a dessert. All was amazingly good. Now, when we got there, we went to the hostess and told him we want to eat outside. He took us all the way on the other side. As we sat, I noticed we were the other ones there. I looked at the other side and there were about 4 parties. I didn't think nothing about it, in fact, I enjoyed the fact that we were all alone until 2 other parties arrived and they were also seated on the other side. I told my partner what I noticed and she said it's probably nothing. I asked if I should ask out waitress but she said we shouldn't. I left it alone. We ate, left a big tip for our waitress, because she was amazing and left. I'm still left with the question as to why were we seated away from everyone. We went for a Holiday Nurse's night out, and had a great time! The scenery is super cute, and the hostess was not only very sweet but also very knowledgeable and proud of the food that Blue Fire serves. All of us loved our drinks, and no one had any complaints in that regard. I ordered the steak, and at first thought it wouldn't be enough food, but the portion was perfect. The steak was also perfectly cooked and seasoned nicely. I really liked the two sauces that it came with. Parking was easy to find on the street, but I think they have a parking lot as well. I would definitely come again based on the smell of my friend's Risotto alone (which I will definitely be trying). read more

This is my 2nd time coming here and both times I'm blown away by how beautiful and gorgeous the inside decor is! It's so intimate, warm and inviting, I could spend hours there! The drinks are always incredible! The food was also delicious! The calamari here is my favorite so far! We got lobster ravioli, pasta alla vodka and pork medallions, all 3 were chefs kiss! The desserts were mouth watering, don't pass on the dulce de leche mousse and tiramisu, they are soooooo good! Our server was super sweet and handled the restaurant all by herself gracefully! Service tonight was a bit slow, but when we were finally noticed, we were well taken care of. The decor is so cool. Very intimate. Live music on the patio on this particular Saturday evening, not sure if it's every Saturday. Food was soooo flavorful. We ordered the dark side of the sea... delicious... sauce was just right and plenty of seafood! Also, we got the arugula shrimp salad. Incredible! The shrimp was grilled to perfection. For cocktails, i got an Indigo, which is a raspberry tequila based drink. It was good but a bit too sweet for me. Hubs got the Sapphire which is a gin based cocktail. That was really refreshing! We had my wife's graduation dinner there with her parents and mine. Our server was very nice very accommodating. They had a decent wine list and the food was very very good. I just wish they would've brought her a dessert or give her a card or something. They asked what we were celebrating and I told them and there was another table celebrating the same thing that was the only negative thing I could say. read more

The atmosphere is dark and has a unique vibe. The mushroom bruschetta appetizer was great. It came with 6 pieces of tasty toasts. The bolognese was just "okay". The sauce was very watery, but the portion is big. The Cesar salad with shrimp was a beautifully presented dish that was very good! They have a lot of tea options which is unique! The reason for 3 stars is because the waiter was not attentive or present. We waited about 20 minute after finishing food for our check (and that's because we went to thr host to ask for him). Also, meals should come out at the same time so that everyone in your party can eat together, but they served one of the dishes later, so by the time one guest was eating, everyone else was nearly done!!! He also only ascertained our satisfaction AFTER everyone was done eating (instead of after 2 bites or so). We completely we're out of water and had to flag him down to get more as well as a tea refill... overall, not the best service. read more

What an elegant place. Even though it's on a busy road, the decor transports you to a European deck. The menu is extensive! Salomon comes on the daily. Greetings My Foodzies, last Saturday we went to a new restaurant in Elmwood Park at 7440 w North Ave. this location has house a few different restaurants now it's Blue Fire Restaurant. The manager Volodymyr was very pleasant, welcoming and he was also our server. The restaurant is dark with a macabre, medieval look with water glasses in a goblet form, with wood ceilings sprinkled with fake moss; chandeliers and torche wall sconces, and several TV throughout. The front has a warm inviting heated fireplace dining area. The menu is quite voluminous with a wide range of foods with no focus on any cuisine. The menu has everything from sushi to pasta which burgers and steak. We began with Arugula Fusion Roast Beef which was a little bland, but with adding parmigiana cheese and red flake pepper it was good. We had rigatoni in vodka sauce with chicken. It tasty, the chicken was moist and tender. Beef Stroganoff; it was served over mashed potatoes instead of the traditional wide flat noodles. The beef stroganoff was very flavorful and surprisingly worked well with the mashed potatoes. I ordered the carbonara which was good but it was prepared with bacon (which wasn't crispy) instead of quanciale or pancetta also it was in an Alfredo type sauce. Carbonara is prepared with crispy quanciale, pecorino Romano cheese and an egg that is stirred in at the end then finally a sprinkle of parmigiana. All in all I give this restaurant 4 stars. I have been coming to this location probably since 3 owners ago and today not realizing it was under new management for three weeks, I can honestly say it was a great ! Our server Nadi was very attentive and accommodating when asking to tweak or add to our dish which is so pleasant when dining out and just wants mg to have a good meal in a relax atmosphere. We had the raspberry salad , bruschetta, an amazing rigatoni ala vodka and I must mention the freshly baked hot bread. OH MY!! Had lunch with my husband, sister, and 16 year old nephew. Great ambiance, I can imagine the vibe in the evening and weekends. I seldom order a chicken entree but my nephew ordered the Caesar salad and forgot to say no cheese. I know but he's 16. Anyway instead of sending it back, I ate it. Yum! I finally got to try Blue Fire and let me just sayy i am already planning my next visit. The vibe was beautiful modern but cozy, perfect for a night out. The staff was super attentive and made sure we felt taken care of the whole time. The absolute star of the night was the Blue Fire ribeye. Hands down one of the best steaks I've had in a long time perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. On top of that, the cocktails were delicious and paired so well with the meal.
