The parking lot is small, but easy to access, and there's plenty of side-street parking (though I'm not sure if it's permit-only). The dining area is spacious with plenty of seating for larger groups. Service is good, could be a bit quicker, but overall solid. When I have gone they have been limited to 1 waitress but that has been during the day in the middle of the week. The food is excellent, with generous portions. I mainly come here for the gorditas, they're bigger than at most places and packed with filling. The salsas are great, and if you are Latino you know that a salsa can make a dish. Overall, I give El Duranguito a strong 5/5! read more

I enjoy the traditional basic Mexican food that is served here. I enjoyed my traditional tacos de carne asada and chille relleno with beans and rice. I enjoyed a Corona with my meal. They did serve chips and salsa upon sitting. If you want water you need to request it. The service was very good. It reminds me of Nuevo León that I use to visit in Chicago. The Ambiance has a very nice Mexican aura. You can sit in or care out. Has small parking lot. Also free parking on the side street. read more

Was in the area and decided to try this restaurant. It was before noon so I decided to go in and grab some tacos. I waited at the counter for quite a bit of time. It seems the young lady taking orders was overwhelmed by the electronic orders coming in or something. The place is a decent size with a nice amount of tables if you choose to dine in. When I was finally able to place my order I ordered 2 steak tacos and one ground beef taco to go. I received my order quickly and the tacos were very good. In the future, I would probably place my take out order online but it's a cool place to grab a quick bite to eat. read more

El Duranguito NEVER disappoints. Their tacos de lengua are the best. Los Comales, La Flor, Cilantro, Tacos Atotonilcos do not come close to their size and quality. The lengua is even cut differently and cooked to perfection. It doesn't even have a soft-slimy taste that you sometimes feel when eating lengua. Order the taco dinner that comes with rice and beans. The arroz is also a must-have. Did I mention they serve fries? If you love Gene & Jude's fries, these fries are one level up. One more - torta de pollo. After my long hiatus from yelping, I had a colleague who was told by another friend that this place had the best "Duranguito" burger .. enough to drive 1 & 1/2 hour to eat. I said to myself .. I gotta try this burger. Luckily for me I did not need to drive that long .. and well sorry to say it .. thank goodness and I mean that in the nicest way. This is the kinda place that if your in need of food to sober you up, it will help. I had this famous burger but right off the bat I noticed some trouble, if I didn't not eat this quick enough it was doomed to be soggy.. personally I do not like soggy burgers. The taste was good, the price was reasonable for what I ate, however I won't be eating the "Duranguito" burger again. It had way too much ketchup, mustard, mayo and the vinegar from the canned jalapenos they put on it, so much that I felt bad for the bun having to soak all that up. I got half way thru before it just fell apart. The fries were ok, I like that they are fresh cut fries with skin on them and possibly not frozen. I cant verify that. :) They have wide selection of Mexican food that possibly will have more appeal, so in all fairness there is room for improvement on my experience and I do plan to try something different to provide a better and NON biased opinion on this place. I love this place! Authentic Mexican food so close to home. They're very fast, once you order. Watch out for the green salsa it's hot! The Durango burger is amazing, and I don't even like burgers. I usually order gorditas and burritos for the family on a late night when I don't feel like cooking. The burritos are not huge like other places. We are from Durango and this is exactly how they make gorditas y burritos! I had burrito de deshebrada (shredded slow simmered beef in hot sauce) gorditas all handmade chile pasado, chicharrón prensado, nopales, lengua. They aré sooooooo good!
