They refused to dry clean my coat. I know I've just confused you. How can I give a 4 star review for services not rendered??? The coat in question is what I affectionately call my "Nanook of the North" coat. It's down filled, water resistant, and rated for 20° below. It's a serious winter coat. It was the end if the season so I decided to get it cleaned. The counter guy took the coat, no problem. I then get a call to come pick up my coat. Thinking that it was cleaned and ready (pretty quickly I might add), I went in. He so sadly informed me that the guy at the plant didn't feel comfortable cleaning my coat. Hmmm. Odd. He further explained that they decided to err on the side of caution and not ruin my coat by declining to clean it. Well! That was a first for me! I've had my share of stuff ruined in dry cleaning. Mostly "at no fault of the cleaners". But to find a cleaners with enough integrity to refuse work in order to provide quality work, is the kind of place I will always do business with. I have been a customer of Chi's for many, many years. They have done our sheets and comforter covers for us, and we have always been happy with the service; on those very few occasions when a sheet had been dirtied after cleaning (someone stepped on a sheet, for instance), Chi's always made it right. I am hugely disappointed that Chi's will no longer be offering wash and fold service for sheets, as I was informed today. Wash and fold changed my life! For the longest time I did my own laundry and never thought of taking it to the dry cleaners. For $10-$13, I get my laundry taken care of and folded nicely for next day pick up. Money very well spent to avoid the hassle of laundry! The manager is really open to hang drying an item or two that I don't want to put in the dryer, which is really helpful. I also get some shirts washed and pressed for $2.50 and have no complaints. I have a nice rapport with the manager and he's friendly and helpful. read more

There are five words that sum up my review. SEVENTY FIVE CENTS A POUND They do fine job with the washing too. This is my first experience with wash and fold actually, and its a task I hate, so i would easily pay someone to do it. And they do a much better job than I do. I drop it off in the AM on the way to work, and by the time I am ready to go, its all folded, and wrapped in plastic for the trip home. Should I be expecting more from the experience? The only complaint I have had is my socks seem a little, dull maybe, they are clean and white, but seem a little tired - but hey they do it all, and did i mention? FOR 75 cents a pound! Fast service, quality wash, friendly staff, and just a buck a pound. Not too shabby.

The clothes are returned clean snd neatly folded, not just tossed like salad. Josue who manages this store is helpful and friendly. On one occasion, I had paid $10 too much because the new bills (currency) stuck together. When I came several weeks later with more laundry, Josue had saved the money for me. I would never have known what happened. And, yes, I gave him the $10 for service and honesty. read more

This is the cleanest looking dry cleaner within 2 blocks of my house, so I go here even though it's a little more expensive than some other places. They charge $10 for dresses, while most do $9. They also don't deliver, which sort of sucks. The guys who work there speak English well and are very pleasant. Have not tried doing pay per lb laundry, but that's next on my list. read more

75 cents a lb in the uws! I'm used to 50 cents a lb in bklyn. Since moving here, everything is over a $1 and I was not willing to double what I was previously paying. The people are really nice and they have dry clean clothes (I think) wrapped in brown paper and placed in cubes, which reminds me of herbal stores - very cute. My bag of laundry goes in full, and when i pick it up, its half the size of when i brought it in. They squeeze all the air out of the bag. They also offer to wash your whites separate and optional bleach or softener at no extra cost. I'm a big fan, but I left out one star because they don't open on sundays. read more

I have only used Chi's for wash & fold and to clean large items like my bedspread, but they do a great job every time. Always a quick turnaround, friendly staff, and competitively priced. I'm moving out of the neighborhood in a couple months and I'll definitely miss this place. read more

Not sure what happened to this place. I have been using them since I moved here about 5 years ago and it was fine. Suddenly this new guy, with attitude, never delivers anything when the ticket says he will. Prices have gone up and they lose things. Bummer. read more

I have never written a Yelp review, but I feel compelled to after my encounter at Chi's Cleaners today. I have gone to Chi's for 5 years and they have always done a generally fine job. About a year ago, they hired a new counter man to run the establishment. He was less than friendly, but that is not my main concern when looking for a cleaner. Today, I was in a rush and want to pick up my dry-cleaning that I needed for this evening (a top and skirt), which came to a little under $15. I handed the man my card and he pointed a sign that read the credit card minimum is $15. I told the man that I was in a rush, that I had no cash, and asked him to give me a break. He refused and was very rude about it. I told him that I was a loyal customer, who almost always spent significantly more than the $15 credit card minimum (which he knew), yet he continued to give me a lot of attitude. I left without my dry cleaning. I found the interaction so rude, I will not be returning. The management is very foolish to hire someone who is so inflexible, and a result, a long-time customer is going elsewhere. read more

After 20yrs, I vow to never return to this cleaner! I liked everyone for the past 20yrs except for the new guy who's working there now! I get my sheets press and in the last month, they came back with tons of cresses, when I spoke to him, he was condescending and obnoxious, as thou it was my 1st time there! I had a problem with 2 shirts that came back discolored and basically destroyed. I asked on the first shirt if anything could be done and I was rudely told no, so I let it go but it happened again some weeks later and this time I wanted at least a credit toward future dry cleaning but did not get that and got more rude behavior and basically told to get out that it was my fault. I took Chi's cleaner's to Civil court and got a settlement of $219.00 Index Number S.C.16303/2016. After repeated attempts by mail to get this settlement collected there was no response. At this point it is past good customer service and the principle of this neglect. This type of ignoring the Customer even when it has come to this juncture should not be part of doing business and should not be tolerated especially in NYC where the competition is abundant. This horrible horrible business practice and I am really surprised at the owner. read more
