We used them for wash and fold services and they ruined a load of our white linens with bleach. There are huge yellow patches all over our brand new King sheet set. They blamed me mixing colors (which I did not, load was all whites) and refused to take responsibility. A $200 sheet set is now ruined and they displayed a horrible attitude at their mess-up. I've made this mistake enough times myself when using bleach to know a bleach stain when I see one. Awesome and friendly staff, but more on the expensive side. They have a 2 day turnaround policy but do have rush service available for an additional cost. I dropped off 8 of my boyfriends dress shirts and 3 dress pants. The total amount was a little over $37. half yelp, half whim i went to this place last year to get a dress altered. the tailoring was done quite well - by the sweetest lady too. they have a room where u can change and come out on a platform w/ a full length mirror to talk about alterations and be properly pinned. since then i've brought back two more dresses, both lined and hemmed to perfection. prices are reasonable (i wouldnt say cheap but at market value) and the guy that runs the place is very pleasantly friendly. def recommend! read more

I decided to give Oxford Cleaners a try since it had such a great review. What I did like about Oxford was that I could request that my clothes be washed on cold and dried on low for the wash and fold service. I used their service 3 time with no problem and then... My favorite jeans came back shrunk by one size. (I know this because I have the same pair in two colors.) The one that I washed myself (cold wash, dry low) fit perfectly. The ones that I sent to Oxford is now a size to tight. I know that that mistakes happen, but... Oxford first tries to blame me, "You didn't tell us to wash cold..." I have the direction both on my account and on the ticket attached to the laundry bag when returned. Then they blamed my jeans, "Spandex jeans shrink." (No spandex on my jeans.) Then they told me that they were too busy. They'll have to call the plant. I'm waiting for them to give me resolution, but until then... Don't go here. Sometimes, they don't follow directions. (They have followed them 2 out 3 times.) I won't be using their wash and dry service. read more

It's so frustrating to find a good laundry mat these days. There are so many and when you go into one it is as if they don't care for your business because they know someone else will come in. I always hope that yelp is the one place that will help me find that great cleaners. And this time yelp has failed me once again. I do hope others will take this review seriously. I know we all know some of these companies pay people to write good reviews. I can't prove that Oxford did, but in reading the good reviews I never had that experience with Oxford. I have spent so much money to try to figure out where to go to get my laundry. And I just bleed money as they all have ruined my clothes beyond repair. I am not going to write a long story of what happened. In a nut shell I have only been there twice!! The first time they turned my sheets pink and a few other clothes. I gave them another chance and this time (i separated my clothes) my whites came out pink. and my new dress came with a HUGE WHOLE! I had Oxford Cleaners do my wash and fold last week, and they gave me a sheet to fill out my washing preferences, where I wrote "cold wash, low dry" as I usually do. But when my clothes came back, the seams of all of my black pants, tank tops and shirts were grey! The colored clothes were faded, and the straps and of my tank tops and collars on my collared shirts were curled and brittle. When I called to ask why my clothes were ruined, when they were washed in cold water and dried on low as my instructions stated, the man on the other end of the phone told me he would "lose millions of dollars" if he "changed the setting on the machine for every customer." I then asked if he could refund me for the wash & fold, since I would have to replace the ruined clothes and was told they "have no insurance for wash & fold." read more

I really hate leaving bad reviews, but honesty is just that. First, I believe that all their services are performed off-site, which always makes me uncomfortable since you can't be sure who oversees quality control - and this came back to bite me in the arse! I had called around, or dropped by numerous cleaners in the neighborhood to find the right place to have my collection of 50+ neck ties cleaned, and decided on Oxford because the fellow at the counter seemed pleasant and knowledgeable. More importantly, he was the only one of all the people I spoke with to, unprompted, specify that they did NOT press ties, but steamed them while hanging, which is the proper way a necktie should be treated. So I brought in most of my collection, over 35 ties, and went over them one at a time with the guy, who marked stains with stickers. I reiterated "no pressing" the ties, and left feeling confident that my collection of expensive designer and rare vintage ties would be properly and respectfully treated to render me many more years of wearing pleasure. Well, I had the ties delivered about a week later - and it is rare that I get so riled up! Almost every single one of my ties had clearly been pressed, many showing on the face the line of the back seam, or worse, the outline of the tail end because they had been pressed after being folded in half! I was so upset that I simply hung the entire lot in the closet, still on the hangers on which they were returned, and didn't inspect them further for several weeks. I later found that some stains were gone, but others that remained on individual ties were caused by the same substance, and were incurred during the same incident as the stains that were gone. This merely tells me that little scrutiny was given to this task. What could I do, and what could, or would, THEY do if I pitched a fit? 'Very little' is the likely answer. Therefore, I said not a word. This review, withholding my business, and verbally retelling the experience when solicited and appropriate is the best solution I have come up with. WORD! read more

Recently took a Tom Ford Navy (the same as on a recent cover of GQ) to have the pants hemmed and the coat taken in at the waist and they did phenomenally. I also had a missing button on a Zegna suit that they replaced as well; it was not the SAME button (since I did not have a spare that I could find), however, the difference can only be seen very very closely. They were very polite, listened to how I wanted things to be done and executed them amazingly. They made sure to match threads for the Tom Ford, as close as they could get with the black button on the Zegna. Oxford was quick and gave a perfect estimate of when my items would be finished. No complaints, and taking in four pairs of designer jeans today! My ONLY complaint is that they will not pick-up/deliver up to 100th st. I live in the 90s but they, around 15 blocks away, but they won't do pick-up/delivery... but that's okay! Highly recommended nonetheless. read more

We have been using Oxford for the past year and a half since we moved into the neighborhood. Pick up and delivery have been reliable and the owner is personable, but multiple items, both washed and dry-cleaned, have been damaged by inexplicable stains, often permanent. To his credit, the owner has often tried to remove these once he has been alerted to their presence, but the problem recurs. Perhaps he is unaware of how the personnel actually handle the items.
