When you spend a month in the city and Delta only allows you to bring 1 rolling bag on board, laundry is part of the plan. P & K is between 80 & 81 on Amsterdam. What a great find!!! The staff is super friendly and they do a really good job! Drop off by 1 and you can pick up at 5. How great is that? Even better.... It's only $1 a pound. I've used them twice now and both times were amazing. Dropped of a big suitcase of dirty clothes at 12:30 and picked up a perfectly folded, small bag of clothes. DO NOT USE! They destroyed multiple clothes and comforters of mine without even apologizing or offering refunds. I haven't only lost items with them but also my rag and bone denim jeans were returned with pink highlighter all over them and had to be thrown out. The latest this week is my snowman white comforter is completely destroyed (orange blotches all over it) with no offer of a refund. I ironically was blamed for it. I noticed each time they returned it new stains appeared and when I finally said something I was blamed! I never stain any of my comforters especially white. Warning you please do not use this service if you value your clothes and property! They recklessly destroy them with no apology or accountability. again, told me I stained them! Pros: Best bang for your buck! I have used this place several times. They are great and friendly! sometimes they stay open past closing time if I call and let them know I am coming to pick up/ drop off. Cons: One time I ended up with a couple of white undershirts in my clean laundry that weren't mine which makes me wonder if I am missing anything of mine. In their defense, I dropped off like 100lbs of laundry when this happened. read more

I used to send my clothes there ALL the time, but now they come back scented, perfume smell, even though I ask for no fragrance/unscented. They say they wash it that way, but it still comes back with a scent. Maybe the machines smell now. They didn't used to. Something changed. Incredibly frustrating service to use, if you use the wash and fold service with delivery they refuse to communicate times ever. It's always "half an hour" even when the real answer is more than an hour, so you're just stuck waiting. I called back 45 minutes after hearing that my laundry would be here in half an hour and was told the delivery was on its way. I called again 10 minutes later and said it'd probably be another half hour. Pricing is great but if you need customer service or even a vaguely accurate estimate of when you'll get your clothes back, don't bother. read more

So disappointing and unprofessional!! It was my first time here and last. My lace bra was totally destroyed. Underwear all messed up, clothes didn't fold, my Calvin Klein scarf was without metal label... they just told us - we dont have time to separate and check all that stuff ( but have time to charge??? ) I got refund. Laundry is done well here if you pick it up and drop it off yourself. This time we had enough for the free pick up and drop and they picked it up in the morning. We communicated with them three times that they can drop off anytime, but they pushed for a time and I said after 6:30. It's now 7:30, they closed at 8, so we called to check and the man who answered was rude. He said we were supposed to call with a drop off time since we don't have a doorman and that deliveries end at 6pm. No one ever said this in the three times we talked to them. The pick up woman said they'll drop it off at 6:30. What happened here? Also how is this our fault? He did not apologize AT ALL for this miscommunication. Now we are without sheets and towels until tomorrow morning because we just got back from out of town and expected the laundry to be delivered tonight. It would've been nice if they at least offered some sort of apology discount. read more

The idea of strangers fondling my delicates has never really appealed to me as far as laundromats go. Actually...in general I don't like that. But I digress. My best friend always uses a laundry service and I thought the idea was silly. I didn't mind doing it myself. But after moving to the Upper West Side and realizing there aren't a lot of actual laundromats around (at least ones I found), I folded and decided to give it a try. (Incredible pun just then, did you catch it?). I called 9am on a Sunday and explained my laundry service virginity to the woman on the phone. She explained how it works and a girl arrived on my doorstep 20 mins later and collected my 2 trash bags of laundry. Don't judge me, I have a lot of clothes. She called me under 4 hours later and said the total was $25.40. "What?!" I thought to myself. That's so worth it. Stay away from this place! They lost my 100$ white button down shirt and the whole approach was so obnoxious! They told me I'm the first customer that ever told them that they lost an item- and after that told me people do that all the time to get money out of them! Are you for real?? Instead of saying we're sorry for the bad experience and trying to make it up for me, they just told me there is nothing to do! This experience is so bad and frustrating I'm taking legal action. I love love love this place! Fung is amazing, so accommodating . Laundry is always really nicely folded, smells great, no problems with special requests / lights/darks / delicates, etc. ~ 90 cents per pound for regular wash stuff, dry cleaning and shirt pressing is very reasonable too. Same day service available as well as drop off and pick up for free (be nice and tip though!) Know on the front - it is cash only. That being said, I have asked for delivery before or went to pick up some stuff and forgot I didn't have the cash. Fung totally let it go and just said to come by whenever with the money (which I went and got immediately). Just nice to have someone trusting and reasonable! Moving to a building soon that has laundry in it......it makes me really sad - I guess I will still have dry cleaning! read more

After reading just about every review on here, I decided it was time to get my month's worth of laundry done. I live in building with no laundry, and I've been reading just about every Yelp review on local laundromats. I called P&K on a Saturday morning, and they picked up within 20 minutes. I asked how long it would take and she said they could drop it off in 5 hours. So fast! The pick-up and delivery woman was very nice, and none of my clothing was missing (my greatest fear). I have been going here for years now. There are times when I don't have enough cash on me and instead of making me go to the atm they let me pay the next time I drop off. I love these guys. They are always kind and greet me with a smile. If I need an item cleaned that day, just the one piece, they will get it done and have it ready when I need it. This is my new go-to laundry drop-off in the neighborhood. My favorite part about them is that they actually hang dry your clothes! My husband is very particular about not drying his clothes (even underwear!) and the previous places I went to just put the items in a plastic bag, so they are still soaking wet... eww. With P&K, they separate your colors and everything arrives dry and smelling fresh. My only complaint is the cash only thing, but its 90 cents per pound which is really reasonable for the neighborhood and the quality of the service. They are amazing. It was my first time having someone wash and fold my clothes for me (still the strangest concept to me but it's new york, so oh well). I dropped my clothes off, and came back after 4 hours and they were professionally folded and neatly arranged in a clean plastic bag. I was traveling and didn't have an actual laundry bag so they were kind enough to give me a reusable tote so I could comfortably carry my laundry home. Everything smelled fresh, nothing was missing (nor added). I couldn't ask for a better service. My load of laundry came out to be 7.20 which was so so so worth it. Cash only. read more

Until moving to New York about 6 months ago, I never thought about laundromats. Fung, the woman who seems to run P & K, has changed my thinking. The first week when I took two large sacks of laundry to be washed, I was shocked that it was ready in about 4 hours and cost under $20. However, she only gave me one bag back. I suggested that there was probably another bag somewhere. Fung explained, "our folding is done by professionals." And she was right! The people who work here are wonderful. It's one thing when you have the equipment in your apartment or building, its a whole 'nother to kill your night in some hot, sweaty laundromat.. like I said, HATE. But now.. now all I have to do is walk my 20 lbs bag down a few flights of stairs and into P&K on my way to work (open by 8a), drop it off and remember to pick it up on my way home. There aren't enough good things to say about this place! The service is quick and on point, and reasonably priced. My laundry is always returned neatly folded and smelling fresh. You will occasionally lose a sock, or end up with a pair of underwear that isn't yours, but that's to be expected with any drop-off laundromat service. The dry cleaning is good quality as well. Fung is simply amazing. She will accommodate any request, and she'll always greet you with a smile. If you get to know her well enough, she'll start playing a game with you - if you can guess the weight of your laundry, she'll take $1 off the cost of your laundry! I never thought I would enjoy going to get my laundry cleaned as much as I do at P&K. The staff - but especially the main woman at the front - is absolutely nice. I am always asked how I'm doing and I'm convinced she remembers me every time I go in...she's always smiling...And they do a phenomenal job with my clothes. My laziness does not allow me to fold my clothes, so when I see even my underwear folded, I almost tear up at the beauty of it all. It's the small things sometimes. I have to say that they hired and unprofessional delivery lady to ruin their business. She always complains how heavy the laundry. Oh well, that is part of your job. I usually tip her 20% of my total and she still unhappy. Today she just dump my laundry in the from of building and tell me she is busy and will not be able to come upstair to pick up to my mother.
