Too expensive for me. I spent 20 bucks to do a wash & dry when I normally spend $16 for the same amount of clothes. It's a plus that they're normally open to midnight during non-COVID times but now they close when everyone else does, so it doesn't justify the prices. $3 for a regular, $4.75 Large, $5.75 XL, and a whopping $7.75 for the XXL. The rip is between the $4.75 & 5.75. There's no appreciable difference. Save your dollar. 25¢ for 6 min. dry. There are washers in the back around the corner so it's bigger than it looks. Laundromats have pulled out their folding tables as a COVID precaution, but if the table in the front is all they have normally... yipes! I'm anal about folding my clothes straight out the dryer so I don't have to iron, and stuffing them directly into a bag kills my soul. It does have a sink. Big plus. It's very clean and nice and cool in the back. They sell nylon bags for $5. Smart. I would give this place a solid 4 stars but for the prices. You're killin' me Smalls! read more

Honestly, it breaks my heart to give this place 3 out of 5 stars, because I do like it very very much. Their machines are the best and look brand spanking new, but there is one lady who needs to learn some etiquette. Both myself and very nice gentleman asked her nicely if she could empty 4 dryers that stopped so other people can load their clothes - all dryers had laundromat stickers, so we new that it was wash and fold and staff should be taking care of it. She dismissed the gentleman by waiving her hand at him and yelled at me. Very bad and hostile experience. I've also asked if AC could be turned on as it was 85 degrees outside and much hotter inside, she proceeded to yell at me and saying the AC is broken. It was pretty crowded and i got the last open washer, but the owner lady was nice enough to lend me $5 in quarters and let me run home to get cash after so i wouldn't lose my spot! Laundry space is small but clean. - A tiny/small wash is $2.50 - Medium $3.75 - Large $4.75 - Jumbo $6.75 Drying is 25 cents for every 6 minutes. They also have a laundry service too that you can pay for and pickup later on, but you run the risk of letting them handle your clothes however. Pros: different sizes/prices of machines, change machine available, really great hours. The women who work there are also helpful if all the machines are full and will try to make sure you can get a washer. Cons: it's really tiny! Because it's small and narrow, it's usually pretty difficult to navigate around the furniture and other people, especially while carrying laundry. read more

This is the first laundromat I've ever been to in my life. It was good, lots of machines and sizes of machines at different prices. I used a small washer for $2.50, and it takes 27 minutes for it to wash. I'm not sure how powerful the washer was because some of the clothes (mainly socks) that I got weren't super wet when I got it. Not sure whether machine's weak or I have too many clothes. There's free wifi at the place though I don't know how fast it is because I didn't use it, and there's some counterspace for folding clothes and a few chairs if you want to sit and wait. I didn't use the dryers so I don't know how they work, but seems like a pretty standard place if you ask me. There's a coin dispenser so you don't have to collect coins. read more

I moved to this area around a year ago and two weeks in it was time to find a good laundromat nearby. I figured I would try the one on Broadway that my roommate had told me about. However, when I got there I was immediately turned off by the guy at the counter so I took to Yelp and found this place. Since then it has been my go-to. I've never had a bad experience at 965 and it's always super clean and never too crowded, at least in my experience. The dryers are super efficient. I'd rather go out of my way to come here than go to some of the laundromats that are closer to my apartment. read more

There was one dealbreaker that may keep me from coming back, but might not be an issue for others, hence the 4 stars. It's really a shame because I agree with the previous reviews: this is a great laundromat. I prefer doing my own laundry and there aren't many actual laundromats in the area, let alone one with so many positive reviews. Here's my issue: I use a fragrance-free detergent because I have allergies. When I got home, I was really surprised to discover that my clean clothing smelled VERY strongly of other people's scented detergent. As in, one good sniff and my eyes started to run. I'm not sure how to remedy this, but it was a real bummer because now I have to re-wash those clothes at home to (try to) get rid of the smell. On the positive side, this place is super clean and the machines are in good order (note: the previous reviewer is correct that there is no specific "delicate" cycle, only a temperature setting). There is a quarter dispenser on site, so you don't have to bring a big bag of change with you. Although I agree that the place is small, everyone is courteous and mindful of other people's space. I came on a weekday morning, and it was definitely manageable. It's also a nice touch that 965 asks pet owners to shake out their clothing before washing as a courtesy to customers with pet allergies. I think the prices have gone up slightly since some of these reviews were written: I believe I paid $2.50/load for the smallest machines, not $2.25, and a quarter for every 6 minutes of drying time, not 7. I'll probably try again and maybe wipe out the detergent basin first. If that doesn't work though, I'll be looking for another laundromat :-/ read more

Use these guys for wash and fold every week and everything always come back squeaky clean and in great condition! We recently moved from Brooklyn so prices are a little higher (here they are $1/lbs) but that feels reasonable, especially considering their quick turnaround and free pickup/delivery. I chose this laundromat based on their star rating and reviews. Had picked up/delivery service. Service was fast, however, after checking out my clothes that were washed, there are holes, my whites all have black grease markings of some sort. This was my first time with them, they price for first time customers are great because they offer a discount. However, being that my clothes were damaged and stained,it was completely not worth saving money. Some context is probably necessary to start off: I just moved to NYC from Atlanta, and after [obsessively] reading Yelp reviews of [every and all] laundromats and laundry services [that ever existed across the entire island of Manhattan] for the past several weeks, I still had not decided which laundromat to try out. So, I grabbed my laundry and set out at 7:00 a.m. hoping that it wouldn't even matter which laundromat I picked so long as it appeared decently clean and cheap. I've been there one whole time so far, so we'll see if it pans out, but so far, I like it. I'll definitely be going back next time in the hopes that it is everything it seems to be* (*at the ass-crack of dawn, at least). It looked clean (really clean actually, especially compared to some of the other places I walked by). There were a ton of laundry bags on the shelves all over the laundromat for their delivery & pickup service. From what I could tell, the prices looked decent(-ish?). The median looked to be about $30 for an average-sized laundry bag. I spent about $12 to wash and $3 to dry a couple weeks' worth of laundry, a bunch of kitchen & bath towels, plus bed sheets and blankets. I didn't have a great system going on, so I expect it to cost a good bit less than that next time around. 965 has the standard regular, giant, and super giant washers that seem comparable in price or maybe cheaper than average around here ($2.25/$3.75/$4.25, if I remember right..), and then the typical giant dryers at $0.25/7 min. Word of warning -- The place is small. Not smaller than seems to be sort of standard in the neighborhood, but there are definitely much larger places just down the street. If you're not super excited about being up at the ridiculous hour of 7:00 (or 8.. Or 9 maybe...), you might want to stop at the larger place a block down (Polanco, I believe?). People were already in there pretty early in the morning, but it never looked packed, even when I walked by closer to noon. 965, however, became a little uncomfortable once there were more than a handful of people rolling their crap around. The woman who was working there (the owner, maybe?) was really quiet and seemed very nice. When there was only one, and then two, other people doing their laundry plus her and myself, it was pretty comfortable. But... once there were more than about a handful of us, even though there always appeared to be a washer or dryer available when someone needed one, it was really cramped. And while the super-early morning patrons and owner/employee were courteous about the space, the later arrivals were kind of terrible. Seriously, every single one of them with the exception of one was just in the way always (because, it really is hard not to be) but couldn't be bothered to at least try to play a little musical [laundry-basket] chairs so that everyone, and not just they, could get their laundry wrapped up. TLDR: I have no idea how miserable 965 could possibly be at peak hours, but it's clean, the employee/owner seems sweet, it's affordable (and their delivery/pickup service prices also look reasonable), and the place is very pleasant at 7:00 a.m. read more

This laundromat is clean and has competitive prices -- it's the best one I could find in the area! It is open late, and is well-lit. There is a coin machine (cash only) inside, and carts that you can use. I have done my laundry here, as well as using the wash-and-fold service. I had no problems doing my laundry, other than the small space (but where is that not a problem in NYC?). The employees are friendly. Wash-and-fold is always done (neatly folded) on time, and pickup is quick and easy. When I had a problem, the employees were very kind, but unfortunately the owner is difficult to reach and does not give his employees much autonomy. I had to visit the laundromat multiple times in order to find a solution to a problem with my order. However, this was an isolated incident. read more

This review is for the wash-and-fold service of this laundromat and I imagine does not apply to the self-service aspect. I tried really hard to love 965 Laundromat, especially since finding and figuring out a new service was too much trouble during the past very hectic year. To be charitable, it's entirely possible that my problems were rooted in using the online ordering option through delivery.com (although if any company is going to offer online options, it is their responsibility to make that option usable). From the first time I used 965 Laundromat, I have had problems with getting my laundry back the correct time. I know that they must get the times from the online system because my laundry was always picked up during the window I selected, but the delivery person would try to contact me hours before the dropoff window even when I was at work and selected the time range for a reason. This kept recurring with each order, so I started planning laundry for days I knew I would be home the entire day. Then I started having problems with the delivery person telling me that he had another pickup or dropoff at the same time and couldn't get to mine. This was most annoying when I sent out my pillows (the fills) to be washed and returned before the end of the day, leaving me with no pillows for the night. Because of this conflict in times, I wondered if the issue was me scheduling my orders online the afternoon before, which I had started doing because the few times I had put in my order a few days ahead of time they would show up to pick up the laundry the day after I had placed the order and not when I had scheduled it. So, I decided to try ordering ahead of time again, to give them time to figure out scheduling issues. And again, they came to pick up my laundry a day before I had actually scheduled it. Then when I called the next day to see if I could get it back, I was told that they had it scheduled to be returned on Wednesday...so apparently they can get the days right but on their terms. To their credit, and why I have given three stars, my laundry was always taken care of, returned beautifully folded, they offer free pickup and dropoff, and the prices are reasonable. I would suggest calling, although sometimes I felt like we never fully understood each other when I did contact them by phone. The time issues need to be figured out because this was honestly just a giant headache. read more

I really liked this laundromat. The service here is amazing. The woman who was running the register will watch your items in case you just want to put your items in a washer and then come back in half an hour and put them in the dryer. I will say that they're are only 5 small machines, 3 medium ones, and one large and one extra large. THeyre are more in the back, but I didn't count them. But theres also a good 20 dryers. The business is cash only, but they have a coin machine that dispenses change so you don't have to worry about getting quarters. I did a weeks worth of laundry for a medium machine which was $4, and $1 dryer got me 24 minutes and my clothes got very dried. Overall $5 for a weeks laundry isn't bad for me. read more

They were nice enough about reimbursing me for the item without issue. i'd probably still use them, but I'd be hesitant to drop off anything of significant value. I use them for pick up service. They have super convenient pick up and drop off hours and are always on time & super friendly. They also don't charge a delivery fee which is rare. The only downside is that they do use high spin machines for washing and drying so some of my more delicate garments have been damaged. Perfect Outsource Laundry Spot: In NY few have time for laundry and 965 is the place to call. Very Very competitive prices and free pickup/delivery. Every single time i've used them (it's been about a year now) they will deliver same day they pick it up. They are accommodating with work schedules etc. Highly recommend. Only con is I wish they had a delicate cycle for clothes. What a terrible place! I was loading a washing machine from my laundry bag. As I got close to the end of the bag, I dumped the remainder into a cart I had placed right next to the door to the machine. All of the sudden some guy starts yelling at me that I'm not allowed to do that. So I said I was sorry and was obviously throwing the laundry into the machine. But the man persisted. I offered to dump the clothes on the floor. He continued yelling at me and embarrassing me in front of a crowded laundromat. I quickly loaded the remainder of my clothes into the machine and snapped back at him, "There. Problem solved." While the clothes washed I stepped out for a few minutes. I dried the laundry and took the clothes home. As I was putting the clothes away, I realized that while I had stepped out, one of the busy bodies / employees had added fabric softener to my machine. This is something I had seen them do in other machines if they thought the machine had gotten too sudsy. How could I tell? Fabric softener makes me itchy. (Also my detergent is unscented. My clothes had an obvious floral scent.) So, thanks to the busy bodies at 965 for a couple of weeks of itchy underwear. Here's my solution: 965 busy bodies: you mind your own business, and I promise to never come back to your unpleasant establishment. read more

I LOVE this place!!!!! Came here today for the first time because the hotel I'm staying at during my NYFA program doesn't have a laundry room for their guests. The place itself looks pretty clean. The staff are super nice and the lady was very helpful explaining to me how to work the washers and dryers. And hey, $2.25 for a double load and $1 (or less, depending on the time - 25c for 7 mins, 50c for 14 mins and 75c for 21 mins) for the dryers - HELL YEAH, yes, please! Double load took 28 minutes, so did drying on medium heat. They also have a quarter dispenser so you don't have to carry them around with you. I'd suggest, that you go outside and have a bite to eat in one of the place nearby or get Starbucks (there's one on Broadway and 103rd; and another one on Broadway and 111th) or something because it's steaming inside and the place is kinda small and on a busy day as it was when I arrived today it's definitely not funny. The only "negative" thing I noticed is that my clothes look like they're a TINY little bit bleached even though I didn't use any bleach. But it's only one sweater and a tank top and it could be light or I could remember it wrong (I really don't know what they looked like before). Still doesn't change my overall rating, though and I'll be coming back here for the rest of my stay. read more

I live about 6 blocks away from this place (with several other laundromats between my home and their location) and I always go out of my way to go here. Doing my laundry myself is easy, efficient and not too expensive, plus you can buy detergent there or bring your own supplies. Wash and fold service is also fantastic, I had my clothes within 12 hours of drop off. As someone mentioned in another comment, it's best to go earlier in the morning because they do get a bit busy as the day goes on. read more

Best laundromat experience I've ever had. Clothes came back spotless, neatly folded, and without any shrinkage or loss of inventory. The associate could not have been nicer -- he was prompt on both ends (pickup and delivery), incredibly helpful (suggesting the slow-dry method to preserve the garments' dimensions), and so honest he refused a second tip.
