Avoid this company if you value your time and money. After canceling my membership, they still charged my credit card, and I was also double-charged on a separate occasion. Their billing system doesn't let you remove your payment information, so there's no way to prevent future charges. To make matters worse, resolving these issues is almost impossible. They only have someone available to take calls for about two hours on just two days of the week -- and even then, they rarely answer the phone. It's not worth the hassle. It got 2 stars because the lack of gyms in this area. Otherwise a 1. I moved here from VA so I used to go to DMV IRON which is probably why my expectations are a little higher. Cleanliness: gym is never clean. They have someone vacuum once in a while. Bathrooms are gross I'd never shower here. Mirrors are never clean and when they are it looks like they use an all purpose cleaner. Equipment: compared to other gyms in the area they have better machines. BUT half of them are broken and usually takes weeks to repair if ever. They're down to 1 working stair master. Coming from a gym that either repaired or replaced any broken machine with in 48 hours this is disappointing. 3 of their leg machines are broken. They also have 105 and 115lb dumbbells that don't match so when pressing you have to go up in weight or down. Overall if you're looking for equipment I'd recommend it. If you don't care for it save your money and go to planet fitness. Same cleanliness or lack their of DMV IRON opens in greenbelt in the fall. I will be making the extra 15 minute commute because it'll be worth it. Oh they did recently replace soap dispenser for $70 a month I expect more. I was paying $65 at DMV iron. read more

What a great gym concept! It's like a Cross fit meets...mainstream gym...meets a workout clothing line! It's all things to all people and most of all a fresh new take on the gym routine. I was in the area and wanted to check out this gym because I've seen a few people on social media working out in this gym. It looked legit, but I had to see for myself. It was definitely more than I expected and the staff were very friendly! Keep that young lady at the front desk around 4pm 7-31-19 she was definitely the reason I stayed and workout out instead of going to my other 3 gyms. Yes, I have a gym membership problem. I need different gyms for different things. No one gym has ever met every need. I like Chiseled life because they are for the top elite and the dad bod guys who want to feel elite. There's a feeling you can get a great workout and gym partner at the same time in this gym. I saw women and men and everyone get completely comfortable. They have machines I've never seen before so I tried them all! Ive been to every gym from retro, la, pf, CrossFit, and many more and trust me this place is awesome and unique in its own right! There is an attempt to be a good gym but they fall short. There is a decent amount of equipment, weights, and a variety of lifting styles that are supported. I don't much care for the brand of equipment they chose but that's personal preference. Bathrooms could be cleaner and the "sauna" they advertise is useless. The problem with this gym is the clientele, which the management seems to encourage. Too many instabros and instahoes trying to film their workouts, guys in nothing but boxers or no shirts with many girls wearing the same or less. True gym goers don't want to be around that distraction or feel like they have to stare at the ground to avoid conflict between sets. The lifting platforms usually have teams of people pretending to lift or taking their time for a single pull while others just watch. It's younger gym so the music is very geared towards that age group, likely set by the front desk attendant. Again, personal preference but would benefit from a variety of music genres and less mumble rap. Another issue is parking. Instead of controlling their members who allow others to sneak in through the back door, they lock the door and cut off 80% of their parking availability. I tuned in my key fab that day read more

Love the energy at Chiseled + staff. They're so friendly! The gym has a gritty iron house feel without the dinginess. It's quite clean, actually. The regulars mind their business (translation: they pass the not-a-creeper test), so as a girl, you're not going to get pounced on as soon as you join. Chiseled is down to earth, vet-friendly , serious about making the gym experience optimal for their members, and the black+red vibe plus motivating quotes on the walls will make you feel like a weight-crushing badass. Had high hopes for this gym. Very dirty place. Bathrooms are disgusting and the "sauna" is simply a very small hot box that fits one person. Anyone can rent a warehouse space and call it a gym. There are much better options in the area. The clientele is more interested in their selfies rather than working out. More of a "social" club than a lifting gym. Once the children grow up it might be a better gym. Management is laughable and quite rude. The woman that owns the gym is TERRIBLY RUDE and just doesn't care. read more

I've been coming here since the gym opened, and it's a fantastic gym! They have plenty of space and equipment for whatever you might want to do. For powerlifters, They have a rogue combo rack with a fat pad and good ipf approved stiff bars, as well as a deadlift bar and a set of kilo plates. For the bodybuilders, they have ample machines and a cable crossover, with dumbbells going to 150lbs. For crossfitters, they have every weird barbell you could imagine as well as (too many) bumper plates all over the one side of the gym. For strongmen, they have a yoke, farmers carry, and space outside complete with big tractor tires. If that's not enough, the owners are very attentive to the needs of the gym, and they've recently remodeled to better accommodate the demands. I expect this review will be outdated soon, as they constantly add new things and make the gym better. Couldn't say enough nice things about the gym and the owners. read more

Really great gym offering a ton of free weights and machines offering a lot of lifting options. Not a lot of treadmills, but that's okay because there are still a lot of cardio options like rowing, assault bikes, stair masters, etc. Also, very competitively priced, around 50-60 a month. read more

I'm a retired professional athlete and this gym is one of the best out there. However, i wouldn't bring my kid to this gym. Imagine bringing your kid to the gym and as soon as you open the entrance door you're welcomed with a loud music with explicit lyrics ( F this, N that) every 3 seconds. The equipment in the gym is great but customer service is not. I wasn't familiar with kids club hours and came late morning for my work out. About 15 minutes in they told me to pick up my 7 yo son and leave in 15 min. When I asked them to let my son sit in the waiting area and watch iPad they refused and the manager told me to come back later. Well, i will not coming back there at all. Loving my membership here so far. Don't have pictures, but the place is clean and all the equipment is top of the line stuff. The staff is nice and the environment is pretty motivating overall. Some things that could be improved are there are a few machines that need repair/fixing but that being said, close to all of the equipment is in working condition. Also, the gym can get packed at times, so make sure to plan for that. I will continue to see how the gym is, but so far I am satisfied! read more

Chiseled is one of the best gyms I have ever been to. Their equipment set up is amazing, staff is very friendly, and it is just a great atmosphere all around. Whether you're a die hard gym-goer or just trying to improve yourself, you won't be disappointed and they will definitely have something for you. They also offer lots of classes like Yoga, spin, etc. Another added bonus - when the weather is nice, they open up the large garage doors they have so you can get some fresh air while you work out. The gym is also extremely clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend checking them out and taking a tour! read more

This gym may not be the biggest but it has everything you need to to get a great workout in. My only gripe is the large presence of powerlifters who try to dominate that back half of the gym. They make an absolute mess back there leaving equipment and bags anywhere they please and hold up squat racks for hours while they stand around and socialize. It feels like a nightclub and high school at times, the best time to get a workout in is the morning and before 3 pm during the week. Not too sure about the weekends because I'm there on those days but I can imagine that it gets crowded due to most people being off work. The gym is open 24 hours except major holidays which I plus and the owners are almost always onsite. Total nutrition athlete is next door which is great just incase you forget or run out of supplements and the owner and workers are very knowledgeable. I'm only giving the gym 4 stars because the powerlifting crowd needs to be reigned in and told to share the space and keep their mess out of the walkways. read more

I've loved this place for a while, but recently, it's taken a negative turn. They never maintain ANY of their equipment. Half the treadmills don't work. I've brought it to staff attention, and they just brush it off. Their one stair climber's belt is on the verge of breaking, yet they brush it off. That goes with all the other equipment. They just don't seem to care about their equipment. I also wish they would open a separate studio area. Every single night, a group of guys likes to take that whole studio over and do their "MMA" stuff (by the looks of it, none of them have ever gotten in a real fight). They are incredibly loud, obnoxious, and they spit and sweat all over the turf without cleaning it up. Speaking of cleaning, that turf looks like it hasn't been vacuumed in months. I love this place, but if they don't care enough to maintain their crap, I don't trust walking in their anymore. And for God's sake, get a damn lying hamstring curl machine and another cable platform. This place is going downhill quickly. I love old school garage gyms, just have some pride. Also, if you're going to enforce COVID-19 policy, have a spine about it. If you tell a patron to clean something or put a mask on, and they brush or wave you off, kick their ass out.
