They know how to do it right, and the team at Repke build personal relationships and foster a positive, connected, and effective personal training family that I look forward to participating in each training day. Before Repke, I was unable to find a fit after trying many trainers and was convinced I just needed to be a "do it myself" guy. Every trainer was too pushy, too cocky, or too unsafe. Repke is different and better. In addition to fostering a connected and energetic community, Louben requires that his team of trainers develop deep physichal therapy medical knowledge, and know how to do advanced muscle balance and be deeply attuned to form and all muscle groups. They build individualized relationships and customized plans for each person, and adjust those plans to your growth and changes over time and day-to-day needs. If you are actively doing something wrong, they step in with care and coach, correting, teaching, and guiding. They meet you where you are at, targeting exercises that hit your needs at your level of fitness, but not pushing you into what you can't yet handle, unlike others. Before Repke when I lacked guidance, I overtrained my upper-body "push" muscles as so many guys do, and between that and bad desk work posture, I developed very tight upper chest and upper cross syndrome. I couldn't reach and touch much of my back, and needed physichal therapy for immobility. With the Repke team, I've developed a personalized plan to undo that tightness and balance push and pull. I can discuss with them feedback from my physical therapist (who they knew because two of them had worked with her in physichal therapy before!!), and they immediately know what small muscle groups to train in addition to large ones and the best and medically most effective *and* safe exercises to use, and how to truly *teach* and *coach* the form to make those exercises work. This has magnified the effectiveness of my ongoing physichal therapy and I feel like I have a comprehensive, personalized, fully invested team. As a former teacher and coach, game recognizes game. I know of nowhere else I could work with a trained Muay Thai coach and fighter who is also a skilled, physichal therapy medical professional (Darius, you are the best!). I intend to be a member of the Repke community for my lifetime, and I highly recommend you join, too. My parents have been training with Louben and his team for over two months now and I'm seeing very promising results in balance, strength and functionality. I am very pleased with their progress, (given their advanced age), and the fact that Repke Fitness has helped them accomplish that safely. The biggest success in my mind occurred just yesterday, when my mother (85), caught her foot and tripped in an unavoidable fall, and then immediately said "No worries--I've been practicing getting up from the ground", then she proceeded to do just that! Minimal breaks however go at your own pace. I attended the Box N Glow class so the lights were off and I feel like it took the pressure off of looking like a beginner or getting tired mid way through class. This event was to fundraiser and build awareness to the special Olympics Organization for Howard county. There were snacks, a mocktail and a two free raffle tickets to enter a for vouchers to a plethora of places from game night to spa days. It was an extremely well organized event with awesome staff. My dear friend and trainer in GA gave me a contact in VA that he thought I would like and had a similar training style. This ushered in my first experience with Rob Kreider with RK Bodies. I IMMEDIATELY knew he was the right choice for me. 1) Rob is very personable - Took time to listen to what I wanted to accomplish and gave his insight into how he could help. He made me laugh as well and made me feel very comfortable even though I was fairly new to the gym and almost 100 lbs overweight 2) Rob knows what he is doing - He took the time to put me through the paces our first 2 weeks together to assess my physical, mental and emotional state before coming up with a workout plan for me. He wanted to know how committed I was. From there he came up with a program for me and continues to adjust that based on my performance, any issues, etc. There is no cookie cutter program with him. 3) He cares - I have now been training with Rob for years. I have gained a love for weight lifting. Whenever I fall off the wagon in terms of eating properly per his plan or doing my cardio he is there to give me support, help me figure out what is going on, or just kick my butt. After hours emails or texts are always responded. I can't say enough about him. Someone you see 2 - 3 times a week that helps you with such a personal thing needs to be someone you trust and respect. He is my coach, my trainer, my sounding board and important for me... my friend. He has clients of every shape, size, sex, nationality. He meets the needs of all of those uniquely. Like most 'MMA' gyms in the area, it's not a real MMA gym. Rather, it's a kickboxing style gym,…read morewhere -like most other gyms- try to sell its name by placing 'MMA' as a marketing strategy. My buddy did a trial in here because he and I had the same interest in checking out the gym where the former OneFC fighter, Kevin Chung would teach. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend, but my buddy attended here and was surprised at the guy's attitude. My buddy used to train at the gym (left there years ago but cross train every now and then) where Kevin got fired from (without pay or notice or something unfair like that). Then, when he tried to check out the gym, Kevin wouldn't even let him train at first, because my friend used to train at the place where he got fired from (he probably thought that he was a spy or something ridiculous). Kevin's own defense, according to my friend, was, "Hey, I know you. You train at that gym (where he got fired from) and under him (the previous gym owner), right? Well, you can't train here. I don't like him; he's a greedy, fake pastor and a business owner. You aren't allowed to cross train here." On top of this, Kevin would say stuff like, "You move well and you are very technical. You should come in again and I want you to fight one of our guys. He's a good size for you." I heard many positive things about Kevin, which was the main reason why we both had an interest in swinging by here. But, I didn't expect him to be this rude to anyone, especially someone as nice as my friend who would never go into someone else's gym to either spy or disrespect the very gym owner. After this initial visit (this was like a year or so ago), my buddy stopped going there because he didn't want to fight anyone in the gym, and when he told me this very incident, I wanted to share how you shouldn't judge the book by its cover. Kevin, from what I've heard (from my buddy and other friends) and seen (via IG and/or FB public posts), seem to be very technical and a decent coach. However, when it comes to his personality, you'll be super surprised how arrogant and egotistical this guy can be. The gym doesn't even offer full-MMA program (there's no grappling and there's no 'mma' team practice), and for him to behave like he's the best thing the world can offer makes you just wanna pray for apocalypse now. Yes, he's a decent coach, but at that point, it doesn't even matter how good your coaching skills are or how good your fighter resume is. It's truly unfortunate, but that type of mentality would only lead you to burn multiple bridges. I personally recommend The Old Boy to seriously start reading books, like "Ego is the Enemy," "The Obstacle is the Way," and "The Tribe." If you simply want to enjoy your martial arts journey, I highly recommend you to go somewhere else.

You're basically running on a soft-surfaced treadmill and doing lots of different exercises using your own body weight, free weights, bands, etc. You will be harnessed in so you don't go running off of the front of the machine. You get a heart rate monitor when you arrive. This way you can monitor your heart rate during the work out. Your heart rate and your name will appear on a screen in the studio, along with everyone else in the class. The instructor is really like a coach. She will tell you and others to push harder if your heart rate isn't in a certain zone, but she'll also let you know you should back off if your heart rate gets too high. PACE YOURSELF! Or you may end up light-headed and nauseated like me! Lots of explosive movements. This is definitely a high intensity interval training workout. The greatest difficulty for me is following the routine, like in any fitness class. I'm just not very coordinated. The work out is only 30-45 minutes, which is also nice. There's plenty of parking, but it's kind of awkward. The building where this is located is kind of nondescript and old, but you will find it pretty easily.
