My wife and I had a day date where we were going to go to a couple of wineries in Cedarburg. We always saw this place but never stopped in. We decided to get a quick sample before going to the next door neighbor. Well, we never made it any place else because we had such a great time here. The wine was good, the tasting was great (great size pours), and what really kept us here was Allen who was our wine guide. He was hilarious and great! The other owner had some fantastic stories. We enjoyed stopping by during Winterfest for a glass of wine. Service was prompt and friendly. They have wine by the glass, bottle, or by the flight. Prices were $10/glass and flights started at $12. It was a little expensive for our taste. Overall, they feel it was very upscale. We will definitely consider another visit next time in town. read more

I was extremely disappointed in our experience here. We had a groupon for a wine and chocolate pairing and there were going to be 6 of us so I made sure to call and let them know the exact time and date we'd be coming since it's a big group. When we arrived they had no idea we were coming and since it was a holiday weren't too happy about it.... The owner ended up accommodating us and pulling together some chairs so at least 4 of us could sit and the other 2 stood until 2 more chairs opened up. There was nothing "paired" about this. First off you get 4 tastes of wine and 2 chocolates so you really can't call that a pairing. Second the chocolates say which type of wine they might go with aka "Pinot noir" or "merlot" but not to the exact wine on the menu. In fact they didn't even have a Pinot noir available! The part that really bugged all of us was that they would just pour the wine into our already used glass. No rinsing at all. When you're going from red to white this is a huge problem. They seemed irritated that we kept asking them to rinse our glasses instead of just accepting the wine as poured. Personally I am a red wine fan and a drier wine at that so my selection was extremely limited with their current menu. There were only about 6 reds and one was a port and another a very sweet dessert red wine. From what I tried there was only really one that I liked. Overall the experience was lacking. I won't be back and do not recommend to even try it out. read more

Unreliable. After several attempts to reach someone...I booked a reservation for a Bachelorette party with Chiselled Grape. About 2 weeks prior to the big day, I called to confirm the reservation. We stopped by during Wine and Harvest Festival. This is our favorite spot because #wine and you can hear the live band across the street. The owners are always very nice and knowledgeable. Definitely not Amazing or Charming, mediocre at best, however the wine wasn't horrible, I did enjoy a few but probably wouldn't buy, I am a bit of a wine snob and I would probably visit again to give the overly frantic owner and staff a second chance. My girlfriend and I decided to visit this little establishment last minute and it wasn't bad in the beginning. Although, during our hour visit drinking heavily overpriced wine, it was unsettling to see how frantic the the owner and 2 employees were. It was busy, yes, overwhelming, absolutely not! I can speak from experience from the 18 years I lived in California and working in very high level wine bars in wine country, Napa, Livermore, Danville, I would have handled that crowd with smiles and not a sweat broken, clearly they need some training on service! Also, the owner is very arrogant and rude to customers and staff, Yay, you're a level 3 Sommelier, I'm a level 1 Sommelier, who gives a shit, if you think you're that great, you'd be in Napa, not Cedarburg WI!!! My girlfriend Lisa wrote a Google review on 9/6, which the owner lied about us being inappropriate and us staying after close, all lies, see attached receipt of time we left, he clearly can't handle a negative review or remember who his patrons are and were. Excellent find in quiet Cedarburg!!! Amazing selection, awesome service. We were delighted to find an abundance of dry reds, excellent quality that you'd expect at a wine bar in Chicago. Four (generous) tastings (and the promise of more if you don't find one you like) for $5 is more than worth it. Reasonably priced bottles of $10-20 make it easy to take some home. They have a decent selection of wines to chose from and the price is reasonable. The biggest downside to this place is the seating. It looks like a house (or like it was a home at one time) and so it is kind of cramped inside if there's a lot of people (like there usually is on the weekends). When we went, we didn't get much attention because there was 1 guy running it all and he was so frazzled, I don't think he even knew what was going on some times. We will probably give it another chance if we're out that way again but we're not going to be disappointed if we don't make it back. read more

What a fun find on a random drive through Oz. county! The guy and I stopped here and we had a very generous wine tasting. It was free to! unheard of. The wine itself wasnt really anything I would write home about but it wasnt boring or unremarkable. We did get a bottle to go a Zin. The thing i liked was the building itselfs and the brightly painted walls. It was classy, and elegant in the countryside. I will say this the dessert wine was really good it was a peach based wine very yummy. I will try to go back again in the future drink some wine in there wine garden out front. yep. My group and I were extremely disappointed with the service we received.... if you even wanna call it service. Our server (who appeared intoxicated and continued to say we smelled like toast) forgot about us and when she noticed she forgot about us, rather then apologizing continued to have a non work conversation with a group of women. After waiting 30 minutes for our second tasting, we had to walk up to the other server (a young guy) who was busy enjoying a glass of wine behind the counter. 2 hours later, we finally received all 4 tastings and our 2 pieces of chocolate, per our Groupon, we where told "thanks for putting up with us" in a sarcastic tone. I understand that this is a small family owned company and it can sometimes get busy, however this is no excuse for poor service. Especially when they where slow. read more

Not bad. Very small- and I was lucky to hit it while their downtime. Huge selection. And that's a big part of it. If you know, what you like, or have a good guidance- it can be perfect. Most wines are not made by this winery. And no, they don't have a vineyard. If they make wine, they use grapes from the market or juices. And this was a turn off for me. I'd rather drink one of these " typical for the area" wines, than the fancy kind. The fancy ones I can get in stores. Sorry. I felt the prices were rather steep and I mentioned it while my tasting. It seemed that the tag was meant for the in-consuming rather, than for taking in home with you. And this place resembled a regular store way too much, to price their wines at the restaurant level. Discouraging rather, if you're planning on wine shopping. And most these you can buy in stores or online for a fraction of the money. Also, the tasting is not complimentary. And they have my full support with that: the free booze tends to attract the wrong kind of people. I received a very good service, accompanied by a nice conversation. A recommendation for this one amazing wine (not made by the winery, but imported from Spain), was very useful- it is a splendid wine. I might be back for a tasting or a glass of wine when I am in the area. read more

After being discouraged finding a parking place on the main street, we had a good time in Cedarburg starting at Chiselled Grape. It is a wine shop that lets customers sample 4 wines first so our group of 6 got to try a lot of different red and white wines. The service was great even though it got a bit crowded. Our server Patsy told us something special about each wine and matched us up well. Not only was it a fun way to start the day, I think it's a great idea to sample new types of wines you had never thought to try. I took my mother back last weekend and she enjoyed it immensely also! read more

My husband and I visited the "tasting room" last month and were met by the rudest woman I have ever met. It was the day of ladies night out so there were no "tastings" and that was the greeting we received when we walked in the place. Never have we been treated so rudely. A sheet of paper was set on a counter in front of us listing available "glasses" we could try. This woman made no suggestions and treated us as if we were bothering her. Really disappointed. Drove an hour and a half (in the snow) to use our groupon for a tasting, arrived, and there was a post-it on the door saying they were only doing wine by the glass. We went in to ask if they would honor our groupon and the woman working said they were just too busy. Nothing on their website and no notice when I called that this would be the case. Having done a fair amount of wine tasting in Napa and Paso Robles, our expectations were tepid, but this place surprised us with many great wines at super reasonable prices. The only reason for the 1 star rating is due to the ownership. The ONLY reason why I purchased anything here was because of the helpful staff. I was displeased to over hear ownership demeaning their staff openly in the presence of patrons.
