Really nice wines. Their Chardonnay reserve had a buttery finish which is more difficult to find - it was lovely. Enjoyed all the wines I tried. And the service was excellent.

Another year and another wine tasting adventure at Blind Horse Winery. Every time I am in town visiting my Brother-In-Law, who is in the Blind Horse Wine club, we make sure to visit this winery so we can sample their latest vintages which is always one of my highlites of my annual trip to Wisconsin. The wines made at this small winery are definately superior to all the other wineries I have visited in this state where you can stack up these wines with the "good" stuff you get out of the west cost. The annual volume of this winery is on the order of 5K cases a year I believe where the quality is quite good. The thing I like about this operation and which separates them from the other Wisconsin local wineries is that they get the grapes (not the crushed juice) from various vineyards out west, mostly from California, where their winemaker is able to control all aspects of the wine making process to include the pressing of the grapes, how long the skins are in contact with the juice, the fermentation process, alcohol levels, time in barrel and types of barrels all the way to wine in bottle available for sale to the customer. This process along with their knowledgeable winemaker leads to some very good wines that even a wine snob like me can appreciate! Truly a quality operation that offers a quality product at the end of the day! If you are in this area and enjoy good wine than this is a must see business. Wine tasting is 5 pours of the wine of your choice (15 different bottles available for tasting on the day of our visit) for only $8 which is a bargain in my book. Also if you have time you should check out their restaurant as well as I am told the food is quite good and goes so well with their wines!! Truly a experience that should not be missed.

The wines are okay, but not worth the price. Decent food offerings. We go for the events. Nice space for good music.

Updating my review to rave about our recent service…read more Joined by my bestie and her husband who drove all the way from Denver to see us, my partner and I returned to The Blind Horse for a birthday dinner. My bestie is SEVERELY allergic to poultry and her husband was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease which means gluten is no good (even "cross contamination"). This makes finding a restaurant that can accommodate their needs a huge challenge. Our server went out of her way to talk to the chef and check things out. They were able to accommodate these specific diets and still beautifully create their entrees. It has been horrible to adjust life with Celiac, so when the food came out, I really thought there might be some tears of joy. ;) This gave us more reasons to come back! Thank you!

We saw there were little signs by the doors that tell you what building is what. Once inside, we were seated immediately. Our waitress got us drinks within a minute of sitting down. I think her name was Ella or Ellie- she was very good. Knew when to come over and when to not come over. I ordered the lobster cargot for an appetizer - it didn't have much taste so I would pass on this in the future. The corn chowder was amazing !!!! Very flavorful. My lobster ravioli had a very nice portion size and lots of extra lobster. Our bill for 2 people who each had two alcoholic beverages was $150 with the tip. Cute date night spot. The reason for the 4 star was the blackened snapper paella wasn't good. The fish was burnt not blackened. My friend took the bottom off because of how burnt it was.

This business makes there own Beer, wine and alcohol products where the diversity of what they make is kind of amazing considering the footprint/size of their facility. Relative to the tastings, these are free of charge where customers are encouraged to tip instead to show their appreciation for what they have been served. Duriing our trip here we tasted numerous spirits to include their house made gin, rum, vodka, Brandy, Bourbon and various flavored moonshines. I thought the liquors with the exception of the Moonshines were just OK but the moonshines were surprisingly quite good. These 60 proof drinks come across like a liquor based on the alcohol by volume content with a similar creamy texture. The flavor profiles are quite unique to anything I have ever tasted before where their flavors include Grandma's Apple Pie, Salted Caramel, Orange Slice and Lemon Drop shine to name just some of them. Every Moonshine bottle we tasted was so tasty where I was really enamored with all of them and at the end of the day ended up buying the Lemon Drop and salted Caramel although it was hard to stop at just these two. Relative to the facility it has a non descript outer view where the inside comes across more of a typical bar venue more so than a winery/distillery which is a bit deceiving in my mind considering how much product they make here. No stacked wine barrels or a sneak peak of the Distillery or Barrel rooms to reinforce what this business is and add the cute ambiance you get at many of the wineries I visit. Relative to Staff, They were exceptionally friendly and good on the repours for our free tasting which definately added a lot to our tasting event. Overall a very pleasant time was had by our group where I see myself returning again in the future and sampling their other ware's and probably buying more moonshine!

Total Wine, we're friends again! Please see my initial…read morereview below. 1-4 positive remarks. No negatives. Of course we went to Total Wine for another wine tasting. Why??? because, well... I love wine and want my husband to love it too! After my last review, I emailed Total Wine as requested by their Yelp page which you'll see. They even called me back, but I missed the call. The voicemail was nice. Let's be honest though,I wasn't about to call them back. They heard my concerns. No need for me repeat said concerns. I mean if they were offering a free class or gift card this would have been me "Yes, I'm returning a call..." LOL! Friends, y'all get it! This time around, my experience was amazing! 1. Stone was knowledgeable and answered several questions. 2. Were there watermarks on the glasses? NOPE! 3. The pours were more sanitary too! Brenden hovered above the glass (no more accidental contact!). 4. The class wasn't overly packed! Likely because it was a weekday. Either way, I'll take it! I know they'll still pack the classes because...let's keep it a buck they're a business. I'll lean towards weekday classes or come as a party of four. I love when companies actually listen and make changes. That type of action Makes me feel all smiley and stuff! Wait, friends....maybe that's just the wine. Total Wine, we'll be back for more sniffs, swirls, sips, and knowledgeable instructorsp! Thank you!!

The pre-order and parking lot pick-up option is a great time saver. This is especially important, because this is the area where Total Wine struggles - there are never, ever enough people working the registers and the lines to check out almost always suck. If they could be a little more mindful of that up front, they'd be a five star store.

The class we attended was a ravioli making class where we did the full recipe from start to finish. There were two lead chefs and an assistant helping to pass out small apps, distribute tools, and clean up. There is a bar area that if self serve and at the end you're asked to pay for what you consumed. It would be nice if prices were posted, but drinks are about what you'd pay at any local bar. Overall, subtracting the food included and what it would cost at a restaurant, the class was about $35-$40 for a three hour experience. Afterwards they emailed out the recipes for what was made. I'd definitely try another class there as it was a fun time and great for couples or larger groups.

For about $80, before tips, we were entertained by Denny S as he sang so many Neil Diamond songs. And if you were not looking, you could hear Neil singing in his wonderful voice. The music was presented between the incredible 4 courses, and allowed for conversations over the delicious dishes that were freshly prepared for us. Start with a nice variety of beverages (for purchase) with a bruschetta appetizer. Follow this by a light salad with fresh bread, and then to the entree of chicken breast with Prosciutto in a lemon sauce with mashed potatoes and sauteed carrots. Finish the meal with a light lemon cake with whipped cream, and not only was my appetite satisfied, but so was my appreciation for perfection in presentation. Chef Pam's Kitchen is a multi-use spot in downtown, serving special event dinners, cooking sessions, and offering locally prepared treats of all kinds. Local pastry chefs have access to the well-appointed bakery area. With all the food prep areas open to view, it is highly impressive to see the cleanliness and exceptional equipment in use. Our evening of entertainment and dining was wonderful. There are many more events planned here, and I recommend watching their offerings, especially if you like to have fun and great food!
