A beautiful park just off I35. It appears new and has some history monuments and buildings on the trail. The trail isn't too long yet but if you walk from one end and back it it close to 4 miles. A good place to have a picnic or to relax in the shade with plenty of places to sit. So whether you want to take a small walk, take the dog for a stretch, or just get out of the house stop by Chisholm Trail.

This hidden gem is a work in progress by the city, and was something we stumbled across on our way back to the hotel. Of course I couldn't pass up an opportunity to take pictures and walk around reading the historical plaques. I'm looking forward to seeing this area upon completion. (Whenever that might be.) Looked like there were a few people out fishing in the nearby creek. Surely fishing licenses are required. Who knows?! Go check out the work in progress. You will be glad you did and happen to learn some history while you're at it.

This small park sits between Brushy Creek and Round Rock Avenue alongside Chisholm Trail Rd in Round Rock. There are some bronze statues by Jim Thomas dedicated to the pioneers who traveled along the Chisholm Trail in the 1800s. Both the park and the trail that runs next to it have been fenced off for construction for quite some time. So far, the trail next to the park runs for about a mile with no exits along the route. Apart from the sculptures and the paved trail, there's not much else that would attract you to this park. The photos included will help you decide.

this is a nice place to walk. however the signage by the longhorns statues is small and discreet, hidden behind on the ground.

The trail is nice and paved, the playground looks pretty expansive, and the absolute views and nature on display here makes me feel very lucky to witness it. There's plenty to do here as a family and there were quite a few families out when I passed through. It's such an elegant and serene space. RIYL: spinnin like a laundromat

This neighborhood park in Round Rock is beautiful. After major renovations and connections to…read moretrails, the park was reopened in 2024. It still has that "new feeling" to it. The grounds are well-maintained and landscaped. There are paved trails that run along Brushy Creek where folks fish, feed the ducks, and relax along the water if not hiking or walking. It's dog-friendly with poo stations throughout. Dogs must be leashed. Water fountains throughout. The baseball field is state-of-the art. There's a modern playground for kids. Picnic areas with tables and grills. Veterans memorial onsite. Ducks and squirrels all around. In fact, a squirrel climbed the netted parameter around the ball field to watch us. I posted a lot of pics-that's a cute one to check out. The 14-acre park is surrounded by trees. In the middle of Bushy Creek is a large round rock for which the town was named. Next to the ball park is a spiral ramp connecting the upper and lower sections of the Heritage Trail West (which runs through the park). You can walk up it or bike for amazing views once at the top. This is a lovely park for getting out and enjoying nature.

Let's start with the cons: it's seriously off the beaten path- there's nothing out there. Bring everything you need- water, food, sunscreen etc. Secondly, there is literally no beach- just rocks, lots of rocks. Lastly, it is not dog, kid, or "out of shape" friendly. You have to climb around and over all those rocks to get to the water. (Oh, and there is a fee per person, if there's someone on duty). Now the pros- it is seriously off the beaten path, which means there's parking and very few people. Secondly, the water is clear and beautiful as are the views. It is near a marina, so boaters give nice waves every so often. Lastly, I loved sitting in my float just listening to the water hit the rocky shore. Very peaceful. I enjoyed it, but it's not for everyone. Let me know if you go- enjoy!
