Cute park!…read more Playground is small but has a few unique attributes. First, it has a canopy! Nice not to worry about the blazing sun. There's a really fun pod you sit in and get spun around. Additionally, a really cool excavator tool that scoops up wood chips. It's a little tricky to control for smaller kids but fun with assistance. A little confusing to find parking. It's across the road -- under the bridge, actually. My husband and I disagreed on whether we like the parking arrangement. He loved that the car stayed cool but I felt a bit unsafe (felt like a secluded garage). Once you park, find the rock sign for the park. Follow the path to the pond. Go left at the pond to access the playground (I missed the path initially because you can't see that it continues from where you're standing) or go right to circle the pond (a nice walk) and find the playground that way. I preferred the longer walk to see ducks and turtles. The ducks have a cool floating house on the water. The playground was empty the entire time. Nice for social distancing. Maybe it's the fact that it's tucked away and a bit of a walk from the parking area. Either way, was nice to have it all to ourselves.

A nice little park along the Brushy Creek trails with lots to offer. You can enjoy nice views, sit…read moreon a bench and relax. You can watch or feed the ducks. You can also fish. The kids say there are catfish and an assortment of other types of fish to be caught. There is also a playground to bring the kids so they get some fresh air and exert some energy. Finally you can take pictures of all the going on. I am a little disappointed this year with the leaves changing color, but still a beautiful place. Parking is available under the bridge so don't fret!

It has a full playground with swings, a tennis court, swimming pool, (I think you need passes for the pool and tennis court), volleyball court, basketball court, picnic tables, and even a paved walkway that wraps around the park. There is plenty of open grassy space to run around, throw a frisbee. It's also dog-friendly with poop bags and a drinking fountain. The parking lot is a decent size although I could see it getting filled up very quickly for an event. Speaking of, this is also where they hosted this past "Hairy Man festival."

Wells Branch Park is the southerly "Godfather 3" in the trilogy of parks within the Wells Branch…read moreMunicipal Utility District, starting with the picturesque and duck-filled Mills Pond to the north, continuing to the family/sports-friendly Katherine Fleischer park in the middle. It's not my favorite, as it seems the least maintained with higher grass and weeds. A lot of it is just a path between the backside of apartments/houses and a ditch. In some places it's just very narrow, and two crossing joggers need to claim their path to avoid each other. Though it is 2.2 miles in a 4.3ish mile figure-8 that centers at Fleischer, which is good if your goal is not repeating the same section over and over to get some miles in. The trail here has more percentage concrete than its northern counterparts, including some tricky drainage patches you could trip on if not careful, and involves three road crossings (plus two tunnels to go under Wells Branch Parkway). But what seems to be the draw of this park is the frisbee golf. It seems well marked, and a full 18 holes. It's busy all times of day, with the golfers, or as I believe they like to be called "stoners", bringing their gym bags filled with all sorts of discs. Some of the discs even light up, presumably for evening play. Perhaps the higher grass is to make the golf more "interesting". Like the Mills Pond area, this park could use the lighting found on the Fleischer paths, and maybe a water fountain. But it is a fairly good use for what otherwise would just be a drainage creek.

This is a pretty nice park area to hang out or chill if you're planning to play some games (i.e…read more outdoor activities) or have a dog and want to do some jogging. I find most parks in TX have a severe lack of ... trees? or shade I find it to be kind of weird since I could't just sit out in the middle of the field and take in the UV index of 9 every day ... but then again maybe there was shade elsewhere and I just didn't find it. The grounds are ok, there are some courts for you to play tennis and basketball if you'd like and they really do like to keep this area fairly clean. I think there's a playground somewhere as well although I could be wrong since it was far and across the park. There is also a golf course here. I think that's what most people come for.

San Gabriel Park is huge, scenic, and with pristine manicured grounds. There is a little something for everyone - playground for children, walking and cycling trails for adults and fishing for adults as well. Quite honestly, I was surprised to see how many folks were fishing in the San Gabriel River. San Gabriel Park is located along the San Gabriel River. Although the San Gabriel Park is quite large, it has the feel of being absolutely serene simultaneously. The park has picnic tables, places to sit along the river and places to hang out if you want to meditate or take in the park's beauty alone. This park is definitely family-centric with playgrounds, open fields, and shaded areas for picnics or self-discovery.

The trails also connect to the larger Walnut Creek system, so it's possible to extend your walk, hike or bike ride. Within the park you will find sports activities - volleyball, paddle tennis, swimming, etc. Many park dwellers were fully engaged in sports activities. In addition, there is a children's playground for the littles in your life. There are also a covered areas for gatherings and social interaction. One area for improvement would be the maintenance of the park. Many grassy areas appeared to be overgrown and not cut for some time. With that said, it did not appear to hinder activities as the park was fully packed.

I don't want to upload pics due to children are present but please go check it out because you won't be disappointed. The main stage is nice and there is a pavilion for you to just sit and enjoy the atmosphere while reading a book or just taking a moment to chill. I always enjoy coming here to cycle or walk but really appreciate the playground upgrade for the children.

This park is the perfect drop off point which can link you to additional trails in the area for hiking and biking. It's other advantages consist of about a dozen parking spaces, a public bathroom, water fountain, covered playscape with swings and a circular gravel trail to walk laps on. Nearby is an additional area to practice your skateboard tricks. These trails run directly next to Gilliland Creek, which means during a period of torrential rains, the trails may actually be closed off. Good spot to bring the kids, dog or a bike.
