I've been coming to Chit Chat for a few years, before the previous owners sold. The coffee and food has always been delicious. The avocado toast has always been my favorite. However, I've noticed the decline in portions and the increase in prices. I was a regular, multiple times a week or even multiple times a month. When I would order food, which was pretty much always. I didn't think it was worth the price. This place is perfect for a sweet treat, a little coffee here and there but coming here on a regular basis just is not feasible anymore. read more

Cute little cafe/bakery. Rustic decor all around making it a cozy spot for relaxing and for, well, chit chatting. Err, so I don't know if most of my review will be super useful because it seems like the items here change very frequently.....like none of the items that I got are seen in any of the other photos posted here lol (well, I did get a cinnamon roll, which seems to be a speciality here, but it had special icing on it and I'm not sure if this variation is available here often). Though, I'll still give short reviews for each item that I got just in case you spot them during your visit. ---------------------------------- Old fashioned chewy oatmeal cookie: omg if you see this one in particular, you better get one (or two.....or even three)!! The cookie is softly chewy.....like almost melt-in-your-mouth. The icing on top has a slight crisp to it and isn't too sweet at all. So so good. One of the best oatmeal cookies that I've tried!! Cherry almond coconut hallelujah bar: I like that the cherry filling doesn't have a bunch of sugar added to it; the sweetness primarily comes from the natural sugars of the mashed ripe cherries. The almond and coconut adds a nice crunch to the bar. Pretty much a comfort-food-type dessert. Peanut butter raspberry jam pound cake: a tad dry, but it tastes just like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (the cake part almost exactly emulates white bread.....the whole thing is a very cute concept). Lavender honey scone: a little overcooked as the exterior is really buttery-crunchy (which could be considered as a silver lining) and the interior is dry. Also the lavender flavor is a bit too light. "Famous Chit Chat cinnamon roll" (title taken from the display case lol): so about the variation that I got, which had brown icing on it.....the lady in front of me got the same item and she said "chai cinnamon roll" so I assumed that the icing has chai. The gentleman at the counter didn't correct her about it and didn't when I asked for the same item either. Turns out from tasting it that the icing is coffee-based lol (quite strong coffee too). As for the cinnamon roll in general, it has a dense, chewy give to it......very reminiscent of a Cinnabon. I'm a fan of Cinnabons so I liked this cinnamon roll as well. ---------------------------------- Overall I'd say that my haul was pretty good. I recommend trying out a few treats here, even ones that I didn't mention! *One thing to note: so the business hours listed here indicate that this place opens at 7 am, but when I arrived at the parking lot at around 7:30 am, staff were still setting up the place and the "open" sign light didn't turn on until 15 min later. Wasn't a huge setback for me, but still wanted to mention this just in case there's anyone who plans to do a quick grab-and-go visit right at 7 am. read more

I went there with my son for the first time and found it to be quite calming. The latte coffee was good and the crepe I ordered was also very good. You can actually see them making the crepes. Employees were in the kitchen standing around chatting, but did not come to assist me as the barista was working on an order. I work in the service industry, I understand downtime. But it's a bad look to appear to be ignoring customers that are in your eyesight. I am a first time customer, what a terrible first impression. Coffee & baked goods were both bland and again lackluster. Coffee simply did not taste good. Maybe shots were brewed too long, or it is the quality of the coffee being used. Oat milk seemed to have a strange taste as well. Again assuming it has something to do with the quality of the product. I was meeting my friend up for coffee and we decided to check out this cute spot. They have several seating tables against the walls and are set up so cute. The decorations feel like a garden theme. You can order any type of coffee you want, any way you want it, and any flavor. I had the cinnamon dolce latte and it was made perfectly. The coffee art was a super cute touch. We opted for the large coffee mug to enjoy there. We both ordered a breakfast bagel sandwich and it was exactly how we ordered it. Every bite was delicious. The eggs were cooked to perfection and tasted freshly made! They have a self-serve water pitcher where you can get as you wish. We really enjoyed our time there. We used the time to catch up without any pressure to leave. I ordered a cinnamon roll to go. By the time we were leaving, they only had the espresso icing one left. I popped it in the microwave for about eight seconds and it was so soft. It does have a strong coffee taste but it was still really good! read more

Chit Chat has been on my bookmark list for quite some time and I finally got around to popping in today. First and foremost, very cute inside and I love the decor almost as if you are sitting in an outside garden of sorts. I was greeted upon entry, and as I was getting ready to order, she saw that I was looking at the Saturday specials and had informed me that she would only be able to do coffee and pastry because they close at one and the back kitchen is closed. I knew it was after 12, so I didn't have a problem with that... Just an excuse to go back another time. What I did not realize is that it was already past 1 o'clock, yet she was still willing to help me with at least that much rather than turn me away. I had the Italian pastry which was flavor and dense... something I perhaps would have dipped in a sauce of sorts. :-D I also got a cupcake, but no reviews for that until later in the evening! Having driven past here a couple of times we finally stopped by to check it out. This coffee shop is such a gem! We love the welcoming ambiance and the excellent customer service. They add thoughtful touches in their decor that change with the seasons that make it a very cute little place. They have quality teas & coffee, but what really sets them apart is their themed baked goods that are just as yummy as they look. This cafe has got to be one of the cutest cafe shops I've seen in the valley. The seating and decor are perfect to the T. So girly and has a farmhouse look. The customer service is great, told them if was my first time here and they suggested some great items. I got the avocado toast with all the fixings and it was delicious! I love anything with feta and greens. I also got the bagel because I love my carbs. I also want to try the breakfast pizza next time I'm there. There are no measurements or adjustments in the lattes. The size small latte was way better than the medium, I tried the medium twice and both times it just tasted burnt and watery. Update: After some internal debating I've decided to change my rating from a 3/5 to a 4/5. Why? Even if it's only one day of the week, I think you can't be excited to go to a place every week that you can and give it anything less than a 4. They have won me over with their Saturday crepe days. So, I found Chit Chat Café and Bakery on yelp because it was close coffee/brunch place near my doctors office. The place was easy to find. The cafe was very clean and cozy! The staff was awesome! They asked all of my questions honestly and kindly. I went in asking to see if they knew the calories count for any of their food on the menu. My boyfriend is on a calorie deficit and I wanted to make sure that he was going to be stay in his deficit. Since they did not knew, the chef said to give 2 minutes and he would figure it out. I was very appreciative towards them for finding them out for me. For reference, I bought a mocha peanut butter coffee, a chit chat crepe (for my boyfriend), a tiramisu cinnamon roll (that was flippin delicious ), the chit chat verde chicken sandwich, and a small macaroon. All of this was to-go since I live in a differeIt was a bit pricey but it was definitely worth it! I really enjoyed experience here. I am a lifelong Manteca resident and do not give my praise easily to establishments in town, so take this with the weight it deserves. Chit Chat is an absolute gem. Manteca painfully lacks originality in all areas but especially when it comes to cafes and bakeries. The atmosphere, there selection of drinks, the welcoming staff and friendly chats make this my #1 coffee spot. I will begrudgingly drag all 4 of my kids into the cafe in order to get my coffee over a quick drive through at the corporate crap place on every corner. Review based on tea party option. My cousins and I decided to do a girls tea party and chose this place since it was the closest for a lot of us. 1 star because the place was cute. Like their decor. Service was decent. But tea party. No no no. Not worth the money for us. The freshly made crepes weren't bad. We felt like they didn't have enough savory items. More sweets. There were macarons but only like 2 or three on each big plate that was put in the center of the table so not everyone could try them. They had salad, charcuterie sticks (mozarella, salami and a piece of spinach), cucumber sandwiches - all of which just didn't seem enough for our party. Maybe we were too hungry? Lol. Teas wee blah. They weren't the loose leaf teas that we were used to having at other tea rooms. They were Bridgerton themed- well at least the containers were. I haven't watched the show to know if the flavors go with the show lol. Teas were ok. They don't have kid pricing either or really kid friendly foods. This just didn't compare to our favorite tea spot Lisa's Tea in the Bay Area at all. ** Edited to add: I did not work personally with the owner regarding the tea party. I was a guest.
